Going Deep

As a teacher, I'm burned out and a nanny gig for the summer should be a perfect reset. Too bad my boss would be football's bad boy—and my brother’s best friend.

I'm not a fan of Camden Long. He’s rude, arrogant, and never misses an opportunity to throw a few verbal jabs my way. The tight end is well known for his reckless behavior on and off the field, yet when tragedy strikes and he suddenly finds himself responsible for his teenage sister, his life is thrown into a new level of chaos. That’s when my brother volunteers my help.

I don't want to say yes, but I can't say no, and tell myself it's just for the summer.
Except the more I learn about the man beneath the conceited façade, the less I want to leave Camden or his sister. Especially when he loses all of his cocky attitude and rasps out, “I need you.”

Going Deep is the first book in a brand new sports series by Sophie Andrews that will make you giggle and kick your feet!

thank you to netgalley and victory editing for providing me with an alc of this book in return for an honest and voluntary review!

this book technically has one of my favourite tropes 'single dad x nanny' while Camden isnt officially a dad, hes pretty much as close to it as you can get once his parents die and he's left to take care of and raise his younger sister. it also handles the navigation of grief very delicately while also showing the realities of how painful and difficult it can be and i really liked that! i also loved our FMC Nadine - shes going through her own struggles being burnout down to her job and is forced to walk away from it out of her own best interests! she doesnt take any shit and happily stands up for herself and the people she loves

honestly this was going pretty well until i had to read the fmc be described as a 'live-in sex doll' multiple times... yk whatever works for you man but this icked me out SOOO BADDDDD... like, i had to put the book down for a hot minute and walk away type of bad

the narrators were great though! they expressed everything really emotionally and it really helped to get invested in their characters stories! id love to check out more of their work in the future

I am going to give Sophie Andrews her flowers first. The discussion and portrayal of grief is nearly immaculate. I genuinely wasn't expecting much out of this story given the genre and how short it is. BUT, she does such a good job of including the little every day struggles, the moments where the grieving barely hold it together because they see something that reminds them of the ones they've lost. It brought tears to my own eyes a time or two.

She could have gone further, in my opinion. But this book isn't very long.

If Andrews ever wrote something that was a real deep-dive into this topic, I'd want to pick it up, because she does a very good job with these heavy, heart-wrenching emotions.

I'd also like to compliment the narrators - Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. They do a fantastic job in this duet narration. The characters really came to life under their care.

Now. I'm sort of of two minds about this book.

The first half had me frustrated and not connected at all to the characters. And the back half - it was well written, emotional, beautiful in places and it gave me something to cheer for - but none of the love confessions felt earned, because we spent soooooooo much time faffing about in the first half and not doing anything to build the relationship beyond snarky banter.

The Characters:
Cam didn't impress me upon our first meeting. He's your typical reckless playboy and that was fine - until in chapter 1, he casually mentions in his inner monologue that he cheated on his girlfriend with 2 other women at the same time. As someone who holds cheating as a cardinal sin in relationships - this wasn't the best opener. And ultimately, I don't really think it needed to be a part of the story at all. It just damaged the way I looked at him throughout the entire book.

Even if he says all the right things, and stands up for Nadine even against her brother that first impression was still rattling around in the back of my mind.

And it doesn't help that he's lusting after, and nearly kissing Nadine 45% of the way through the story, while STILL being in a relationship with another woman. He doesn't break things off with Valerie until over halfway through this book. That was WILD to me.

And of course, once he does, he IMMEDIATELY goes in for Nadine, touching and kissing her. Telling her sweet nothings. It's 0 to 100 within the span of a chapter.

Nadine irritated me when I first met her.

She's having a breakdown because she's giving too much of herself to the students she teaches. As someone who works in education myself, I had sort of a visceral negative reaction to the bleeding-heart empathy she expresses. Maybe because I can understand it, while at the same time, knowing that a person like that will not do well in this profession because of it.

Now that I've read the whole story, I can admit the first impression I got of her was ... incomplete. She DOES recover over the course of the book. She does find another path that won't stress her out as much. And she does have a spine, which we get to see in a FANTASTIC way a time or two when she deals with the men in her life.

And I will give Andrews credit - she describes the education system with enough detail that I wonder if she herself wasn't ever a teacher. She DOES have the lack of support absolutely correct.

The Plot:
It sort of meanders a bit for me. The first half deals with some OW drama, and a very Pride and Prejudice-like hate/hate relationship, begun some years before this story opens and based entirely on a miscommunication, that SHOULD gradually defrost as the two spend time in each others' spaces. I just don't think there was enough commitment to the developing relationship early on to justify how quickly Cam and Nadine fall for one another in the back half of this story.

They don't go out together, they don't spend time together. They don't have long talks on the couch. In fact, before the I love yous get dropped, they barely speak to each other in a friendly way - it's always an argument or snark being thrown one way or another.

The banter's good - but it never evolved into a deeper connection. One chapter, halfway through, it was just decided that the two were in love with each other. No build up, no foundation.

The second half is where all of the emotional growth takes place. Both Cam and Nadine grow as characters, Nadine finds her backbone, Cam finds a home with a woman he adores. The Brothers Best Friend trope takes place of the OW drama.

There's no 3rd act breakup. The characters choose to fight for their relationship no matter what. Awesome.

And yet...
As good as the last 50% of this story was, it's difficult to rate only HALF a story.

I'm going to include my reader's notes to try and help explain what I mean.

Reader's Notes:

The back half of this book is better than the front half by a mile. It feels almost like a different story. It redeems quite a bit of the initial issues I had - but there's no denying that the two se

I love a sports romance. They're my happy place when I need something comfortable to read. And this absolutely fit the bill.

I enjoyed the banter between the two MC's, finding out parts of their history as the story progressed, and more information about certain things the further we got into their tale. The brother's best friend/teammates sister tropes, along with the enemies to lovers and no third act breakup made for a really good story.
I felt the way things developed was done really well, and having Wren Ross & Kai Kennicott as the narrators was perfect. I've listened to a few things they've narrated together and I love how well they do it. And duet narration? Always a win for me!
I love getting to know the character as we did, seeing the depth between their connection, but also the connection they have to the other people in their lives was beautiful.

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves and easy to read, fun, sports romance with MH and deaf representation, plenty of banter and spice!

I would love to see more from this universe and will definitely be keeping an eye out for more of them!

ARC Review:

So this is my second book by Sophie and I am so glad I was accepted for this ARC (thank you Sophie and your team!) because I thoroughly enjoyed it! I loved the banter between Camden and Nadine, including their witty comments, insults and sarcasm. I also really liked how Sophie represented the deaf community really well! 🥹

Apart from the banter, I also really loved the emotional and vulnerable moments between Camden and Nadine. Without spoiling the book too much, I loved how Camden and Nadine broke down their walls and let each other in. It was really wholesome and enjoyable to see. Although I wouldn’t say the book is extremely spicy, the chemistry and tension was there and it was written well! Thank you again Sophie! ❤️

Thank you NetGalley for the ALC of this book 🎧

My draw dropped when the MMC played for Phillys football team. GO BIRDS!!!

The author tried to capture the magic of Philly fans but it fell short. But it’s fine Eagles fans are their own special breed.

It’s a short football romance book with no 3rd act breakup. It’s cute and something to read or listen to without having to pay too much attention.

Lastly GO BIRDS 🦅🦅

What a gorgeous fluffy rom com to start my ARC journey off 🤩 the banter between Camden and Nadine had me audibly giggling and I could've just read their backwards and forwards for the entirety of a book😂 Nadine is a sassy independent woman who can give as good as she gets. And Camden is a lovesick man enjoying the sparring. There is real emotion and vulnerability between the characters which highlights the deep connection they form.

The friendship Nadine builds with Camden's sister Paisley through ASL is heartwarming and they inevitably gang up on Camden to wrap him around their pinkies. I especially enjoyed the referencing to 10 things I hate about you and the jokes around this because what a film! 👏🏼

I do feel the storyline moved quite fast and there are some topics that aren't necessary to the story and felt like a bit of a filler, and some parts of the story which could have been developed on more but were skipped over. Camden went from asshole to lovesick puppy almost overnight with no real gradual development, and Nadine went from hate to love quite quickly also. That's not to say this is negative, but do feel this contributed in not feeling a deep connection to any of the characters. However, I very much enjoyed reading their love story and was invested in their relationship!

This book is great for a light read if you've come from something heavy, and something to make you laugh on a gloomy day. If you want an easy read without a too emotional rollarcoaster, then this is definitely a great pallete cleanser!

Review of advance copy received from Netgalley, Thank you ❤️
This was romance fast-paced I enjoyed reading it. There were some touching moments and there were some funny moments.
The MFC so sensitive wants to resign from her job as a teacher because she is affected by the students' problems, and she has told her brother what she is thinking and feeling.

The MMC football player ,bad boy, reckless whose parents died in an accident and became responsible for his deaf teenage sister. He tells his friend about his deaf teenage sister's problems and the difficulties she faces, prompting his friend to suggest: What if he had his sister work as a nanny for them?

And this is where the story begins.

This book for you if you like:

-Brother's best friend.

-enemies to friends to lovers.

-deaf representation.
-🌶️🌶️🌶️

For the first 50% of the book, it was 5 stars, but after that, I found it rushed. As an example When the MMC decided to get rid of his girlfriend, whom he didn't care about, like he'd throw away a bag of trash, when he decided to start a serious relationship with MFC . Or when the focus became solely on their relationship, they suddenly fell in love like lightning, and we didn't know what had developed or what his sister's problem had led to. Perhaps it will be in the second book, I don't know.

I was also puzzled by her brother's reaction when he found out about his friend's relationship with his sister. He became very angry. He argues with them and constantly tells them, "You lied to me! You both lied to me!" Well, they're adults, bro. 🤓

Or when he told his sister he was angry because he saw how his friend treated women and that he was bad. Well, if that's your opinion of your friend, why did you put your sister in a position to work as a nanny in his house? I'm only saying this because you don't trust your friend and you judge them.🧐🤓

Then they speak honestly to each other and resolve the dispute.

I didn't see any significant development in the MMC personality, in my opinion, due to the story's rushed pace in order to finish the book.

I loved the ending; it was good and happy.

Oh I loved this. I have read quite a few sports romances this year and this was by far one of my favorites! Camden and Nadine are just perfect for each other. I am such a sucker for witty banter, and this couple couldn’t be in the same room with each other without picking at something. They mention in passing that Camden’s favorite romcom is 10 things I hate about you and once I had that in my head, I couldn’t get the similarities to that and Taming of the Shrew to this story. It almost gives (dare I say) Liz Tomforde vibes.

Nadine is a burnt-out special needs teacher in an inner-city high school who needs a break. When her brother invites her to spend the summer with him and her best friend (his wife) she jumps at the chance. Enter Camden, her brother’s best friend, resident bad boy of the team, and new guardian to his deaf 14-year-old sister. Nadine’s brother suggests that she help out Camden with his sister for the summer even though he knows that they can’t stand each other. Let the drama commence.

I felt like a dog hearing all their favorite words writing the content menu lol. I really loved this audiobook. The narrators were great! They really did such a good job at all the little quips and attitude that Camden and Nadine threw around at each other. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a spicy silly time with a small side of mental health rep. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series when it comes out!

I adored this book so much! It was my first of Sophie’s but definitely will not be my last. I loved Nadine and Camden’s chemistry and connection, loved their growth as characters, and absolutely adored the deaf representation in this story! I think it was truly done well and I loved seeing Nadine step up to help Camden and his sister as they struggled to navigate life after the loss of their parents. I laughed throughout, I feel in love with the relationship between the characters, and I loved the side characters as well! I can’t wait to see what’s next in this series! 🥹

Exceptional education teacher Nadine is on the verge of burnout when she receives an offer to help out with a young deaf girl who lost her parents in an accident. The offer comes from her brother’s NFL teammate and best friend who is the brother of the girl Nadine will be working with, a man who became Nadine’s nemesis years before when he made some insulting remarks about her looks at her brother’s wedding.

Tight end Camden has been on thin ice with his team and management since he was caught drag racing the very night his parents were killed and he became guardian to his fourteen year old sister. Hiring Nadine was the best decision he made: it brought Paisley out of her shell and clarified the feelings he’s been experiencing toward the lovely and super capable Nadine. Having been warned away from Nadine by her brother, the pair embark on a steamy, torrid affair which causes Nadine’s brother to take notice of the way their interactions change from barely civil to scorching lust.

Will big brother ever come around to accepting that there may be something special between Nadine and Camden?

I received an advance reader copy from the author and bookfunnel, and I’m sharing my honest review.

Kai Kennicott’s voice was amazing it was my first time listening to him and he is
definitely getting add to my favorite male narrators but Wen Ross also killed it and she is getting added to favorite female narrators too.

Story wise this book is amazing I just wished they had gotten to the why Nadine and Camden didn’t get along sooner or them making it official sooner but still this book was amazing definitely will be recommending to friends!

This was my first audiobook by Author Sophie Andrews I ate it up! This audiobook will have your emotions on a rollercoaster from beginning to end!

I loved seeing Camden Long grow into himself it sucked that it took his life basically falling apart to be the man he knew he could be but didn’t have a reason to. People think he is the typical playboy pro football who cares for no one but himself. However that’s not true I believe Camden cares a lot he just shows it wrongly at times which earns him a bad rap and because that for a period of time he is act the gossip is true.
Nadine is my hero in a lot of ways I see her in myself the overwhelmed and overworked woman who gives all she has and doesn’t usually get the treatment she deserves. She has a lot of siblings and she compares her life to her siblings and feels like a failure. She is a high school teacher in a low income area she gives everything to her students but burn out is real so during the summer she goes to her brothers.. While there her brother tells her his best friend and teammate needs someone to look after his sibling this summer while he trains in the gym.. He knows she will be a big help because she is Fluent in ASL and Camdens littler sister is deaf.
The chemistry between these two is off the chart but the first time they meet there’s a misunderstanding which pins these two against each other. Their banter is hilarious. I loved how both of them grew as people and a couple in this book you will be cheering for them that’s for sure!!

Hi! Thank you so much Net Gallery for giving me the opportunity to review this audiobook!
First of all i really enjoyed this audio book the performance of the two actors was amazing and filled with emotion! Loved the fact that it was dual pov and that they did each other voices!

Now the characters
Naiden: i loved her really, she really shows that being burned out is okay and that sometimes taking a break or changing something in your life is all that’s needed. I loved that she’s all about helping and a sassy loving person.

i loved Camdens sister, she’s a great addition to the story, she’s cute and i le led her

Camden: i didn’t really liked him at first, he was cocky and i couldn’t look over the fact that he was actively flirting and thinking about another woman while having a girlfriend, and i know that it wasn’t like a real relationship, she was kinda using him for his fame but it still was a relationship. If you look over that, he was a really great boyfriend to Naiden:)

Now for the book. The first impresión i got from some character being “Are you gonna open your legs for me or what?” was really something jajaja
i really loved the banter between the two characters, and i LOVED the little family that they formed between Camden, his sister and Naiden, i loved that they created a safe space for that girly to grow.
i’m gonna be really honest, it didn’t sit right for me that he was emotionally cheating for about 1/2 -3/4 of the book on his girlfriend and i know that it was just like a transaction not really a relationship but you know, compromise is compromise (him
calling her “woman i don’t care about” when they were still together?)
Also i know that the first time that they meet was supposed to be like a “love at first sight” thing but him talking mainly about her body every single time they saw each other or when they met and stuff, yeah not my cup of tea.
Oh! and I think that maybe her brother overreacted when he learned about their relationship, they are adults on their 30s, if they want to start a relationship they are going to, they don’t need permission.

I actually liked the book it’s just the emotional cheating that I disliked (personal experiences and all). Besides that I loved it, loved the little family they formed, loved that they encouraged each other to grow and be better! and I recommend it 100% for a fun, ligth and heartwarming read:)

Again thank you so much NetGallery and the author for the Arc and the opportunity

* Brother’s best friend
* Enemies-to-friends-to-lovers
* Football romance
* Dual POV: Nadine & Camden
* Deaf representation
* No third act break up

Camden Long is a NFL player with a reputation for being arrogant and a playboy. Nadine Rivera is the sister of his teammate and best friend, Erik: she can not stand Camden and they always come after each other when they meet.

After Camden loses both his parents, Nadine steps up to help him take care of his younger sibling.

I really enjoyed the first part of the story and was so invested in it. However, as the story progressed, there were a few elements that didn’t quite work for me personally:
* Starting a new relationship before another was properly closed
* Possessiveness / jealousy & dominance in bed: not my cup of tea
* Awkward having a conversation about sex fantasies with the teenage sister asleep in the back of the car

But let that not discourage you: if these tropes don’t bother you or are even something you enjoy, this book could be right up your alley.!

What truly stood out to me was the deaf representation. The use of ASL, the care taken in portraying communication, and the attention to the educational system were handled thoughtfully and respectfully. I also deeply appreciated the focus on grief, therapy, and healing. I’m always a fan of main characters who go through genuine personal growth, though I would have loved to see more depth in how that maturity developed over time.

In terms of pacing, the first half of the book worked best for me. It offered richer character development and more insight into their inner worlds. Toward the end, things felt a bit rushed and more superficial in comparison.

One final tip: definitely read the bonus epilogue. It’s a fun and satisfying addition that nicely rounds out the story.

Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing for providing this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

Book Review 📖

Going Deep by Sophie Andrews

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As someone who loves a good sports romance, this story had me hooked from the very beginning. The chemistry between the main characters felt so real. It was full of tension, vulnerability, and all the “we shouldn’t want each other” energy that makes a brother’s best friend romance so addictive 🥹🔥

One of my favorite parts was how beautifully the author portrayed grief and how differently siblings Paisley and Camden processed their loss. It felt honest, emotional, and incredibly human, which made the story even more impactful to me 💔 I also loved the representation through Paisley being deaf. It was woven into the story so naturally and added so much depth to her character 🤍

I also adored the connection between Paisley and Nadine 🫶 Their banter brought so much warmth and humor to the story, and their relationship felt so genuine and comforting. And the slow burn? Absolutely perfect 😮‍💨 The tension built so well throughout the book that when the spice finally hit, it was 100% worth the wait 🔥✨

I listened to the audiobook, and the narrators completely brought this story to life 🎧✨ Their performances made every emotional moment hit even harder, and I felt so connected to the characters the entire time.

This story made me smile, hurt, and completely fall in love with these characters 🥹 If you love emotional sports romance with amazing chemistry and a slow burn worth waiting for, I highly recommend this one and can't wait for the rest of the series.

Genuinely unsure to be honest with what I think about this book. I was really happy to read with multiple characters who are deaf and just a supportive group who can actually all sign. I won’t lie but that’s what pulled me in. I really had such high expectations but the more I read into the book I was just disappointed, and I felt like I just couldn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to. I didn’t like how their relationship just started off so inappropriately. If Camden was starting to have feelings for Nadine, and they grew stronger, he should’ve had the balls to end his current relationship FIRST. The further it dragged on, just pissed me off, it was going so good, why ruin it??? I realised that I forgot about the cheating from the start of the book and honestly… I personally wouldn’t go near a dude like that.. it’s not a one off… he has clearly demonstrated that pattern of just disrespect like he almost CHEATED on the OW for Nadine. Ugh… I am just feeling disappointed after reading this book
It was also like Camden had an overnight personality change… that doesn’t happen in real life… there’s no growth, no development. I felt it was just completely rushed in that aspect. I just didn’t feel super connected with these characters. It didn’t feel like they had a proper connection that they truly built. The characters did have a good connection with talking and their banter, they definitely had chemistry for sure. Just wasn’t for me

As always, thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book can be read as a standalone.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Going Deep by Sophie Andrews follows Nadine, a burnt-out teacher, and Camden, an arrogant professional football player whose life is thrown into turmoil after a devastating loss forces him to make drastic changes.

The banter and interactions between Nadine and Camden were genuinely hilarious, but it was the character development that truly stole the show along with the strong deaf representation, which was so refreshing to see.

Camden’s growth shines throughout the story. Watching him evolve from someone completely reckless and unserious into a mature, humbled man was incredibly satisfying. His emotional journey felt earned and deeply moving.

Nadine’s arc was just as compelling. Seeing her go from a woman weighed down by burnout to someone who rediscovers herself and what she truly wants was empowering and relatable.

This hate-to-love, brother’s best friend romance delivered everything I wanted and more. I’m already eagerly awaiting the next book in the Winning Love series.

As always, thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and author for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. This was a 4.5 star read for me.

I loved the connection, found family, and character growth of Camden and Nadine and all of these tropes in Going Deep.
* Brother’s best friend
* Enemies-to-friends-to-lovers
* Sports romance
* Dual POV: Nadine & Camden
* Deaf representation
* No third act break up

Camden, the resident bad boy, is out of his element after family tragedy and gaining guardianship of his deaf sister. Nadine is his best friend's sister, and even though they trade sharp banter, is exactly who he needs to help care for Paisley. Camden holds back nothing to care for his sister which softens Nadine and allows them to get to know each other. Watching Nadine, Paisley, and Camden open up to new possibilities they didn't think were possible and finding love and support in their new dynamic was so sweet.

They have hurdles to overcome, but I really liked how realistic they worked through their issues. I am looking forward to future books by Sophie Andrews and the additional epilogue was a lovely surprise.

Sophie Andrews... this is my first sports book by you, and it was just amazing. You have such a way with words that I love.

Burned-out Teacher Nadine finds herself being a nanny to her brother's best friend's, Camden's, teenage sister.

Tropes for this book are, of course, brother's best friend with a lot of enemies-to-lovers (they just bicker so well), and add in the fact that he is a football god, you've got a winner on your hands if you read this book.

I laughed a lot during the bickering between the two main characters, and even more so when Nadine talks sass to her brother. I loved that Sophie was able to bring the connection through ASL between Nadine and Camden's Sister- loved the connection shown between the two. It was even sweeter that you felt Camden's growth and his sisters' connection throughout the book as well.

There was so much growth with Camden as a football player, a best friend, a brother, and his romantic life. You got so many different parts of him that I loved this whole book.

He was, of course possesive with Nadine, and I loved that it was brought out during alot of their more intimate scenes.

I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Going Deep was my first Sophie Andrews book and I was happy with it. It is a sports romcom with enemies-to-lovers and brothers best friend. There’s also a miscommunication trope which I find annoying, but thankfully that was cleared up at 39% into the story.

Camden Long is a football player (tight end). After an unfortunate car accident, Camden’s parents pass away. He becomes legal guardian of his deaf sister, Paisley (14 years old). His best friend and teammate, Erik Rivera, suggests his sister Nadine to help with Paisley’s transition since she has experience with ASL. Nadine becomes a “nanny” of sorts and from there Camden and her develop a hidden relationship.

The audiobook is done in duet by Wren Ross and Kai Kennicott. They both did a fantastic job with the narration!

This is the first book in a new series, and this is Camden and Nadine’s story.
Nadine is a special needs teacher who is burnt out, while Camden is her brothers’ best friend. When tragedy strikes Camden finds himself responsible for his deaf teenage sister, and needing help, she ask Nadine, who agrees to become nanny for the summer.
This is a well written slow burn, easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, loss, grief, tragedy, bickering, misunderstandings, enemies / friends / lovers, chaos, challenges, humour, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, football romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I ended up really enjoying Going Deep. It was such a fun mix of sports romance and emotional moments without getting too heavy. Definitely a solid 4 star read for me.
The dynamic between the main characters was what hooked me right away. He has that confident athlete energy but also a softer side that sneaks up on you, especially once you start seeing how much he actually pays attention to her. And she is not just there to fall for him, she has her own goals and insecurities, which made everything feel more real.
I liked how their relationship built over time instead of feeling rushed. The tension was there, but so were the small moments, like the way they start to trust each other and open up. One of my favorite parts was when he starts to realize his feelings are not just physical anymore, even if he tries to pretend otherwise at first.
There is a bit of drama later on when things start to fall apart, mostly because of miscommunication and fear, but it did not feel over the top. It actually made sense for their personalities. I appreciated that the resolution was not instant and that they both had to grow a little before finding their way back.
Also, the sports setting added a nice layer without taking over the story. It gave context to his life and pressures, but the focus stayed on the relationship, which I preferred.
Overall it was sweet, a little emotional, and easy to get invested in. I would definitely keep reading the series after this one.

This book was so good that I read it in one sitting. I love a good enemies-to-lovers romance especially in this book, when the banter is great and when a simple miscommunication triggers it and can eventually be fixed. Camden and Nadine were meant for each other and I love that their love and care for Camden’s sister, Paisley, and some forced proximity finally brings them together. The scenes with Paisley and Erik’s son, Kai, were especially sweet but this book is very spicy too. I also really appreciated the discussion of grieving loved ones and celebrating them through old and new traditions. Thank you to author Sophie Andrews for the opportunity to read this early!

3.5⭐️ 2🌶️. This was super cute and covered some of my favorite tropes (brother's best friend, single guardian, enemies to lovers), but it felt a bit rushed and I got some toxic masculinity vibes with the talks about money, past cheating, playboy lifestyle, etc.

What I really loved in the story was the Deaf representation/ASL, Nadine's relationship with Paisley, and the chemistry between Camden and Nadine. The duet narration was also great!

Thank you to Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for providing me with this ALC of Going Deep - all opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the audio ARC.

The concept was what initially drew me in, and I did find the setup interesting. However, the story didn’t fully keep my attention as I went on. The romance felt very insta-love even though it starts as enemies to lovers, and I personally wanted a bit more depth and development from both the characters and the plot. I ended up deciding to DNF, but I can see this working better for readers who enjoy enemies to lovers but also like insta-love!

My first read by Sophie Andrew’s via Net Gallery thanks. I am a fan of sports romance novels this is a good enemies to lovers. Both Nadine and Cam has mixed reviews and feelings about their not relationship, until😉some sadness and sorrow but in the end we love it the banter and some drama but we love it and we love a win. Promises promises.

Arc review…

This was such a cute fluffy rom com, I loved the banter between Nadine and Camden and the character development in both of them.

Not only did this make me laugh but it also showed some incredible vulnerable moments for both characters that were written so well.

This will definitely not be the last book from Sophie that I read!

This is a cute enemies-to-lovers romance.
Nadine's brother is a pro quarterback and his best friend, also a pro football player, said something at a party that Nadine overheard that had made her dislike him for years. But when Camden's parent die, which leaves him responsible for his 14 year old sister, he asks Nadine for help. She is a teacher and knows ASL.

4 stars

Many thanks to Net Galley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for an audio ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Camden (30) & Nadine (>25)

They had met a few times since he’s best friends with her brother but they weren’t fond of each other at all due to a misunderstanding mostly.

The first impression Cam gives us is bad. But that made me excited to see how he’d manage to change it. And boy did he change it! So much, that I ended up liking him more than her! In fact, I expected more from Nadine but she proved to be too stubborn for my liking. She didn’t apologize even when she realized she was in the wrong.

This is a slow burn story that I enjoyed sooooo much! I liked watching their relationship grow and evolve into something else. And how they helped each other and became better versions of themselves.

-Dual 1st person POV
-Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5

Overall: 4/5 ⭐️ for me.

I received an Adv. Readers version of this book and I have given this honest and voluntary review.
