Chicken Fried Corpse

The diner is serving ‘em up hot again…no, wait. I mean cold. As in corpse-level cold. Uh oh. Where is Hazel when Seaview, Maine needs her the most?

After solving the Meatloaf Murder Special, Hazel thinks her sleuthing days are behind her. But when The Lighthouse Diner serves its famous chicken fried steak during the annual Harvest Festival, a notorious food critic keels over before dessert, and once again the town points fingers at Gus Bailey’s kitchen.

Determined to clear her friend’s name, Hazel teams up with sharp-tongued waitress Millie Brewster to investigate. Between rival vendors, jealous chefs, and a festival full of secrets, the pair discover that the critic had more enemies than menu favorites. Someone wanted him silenced—and they weren’t afraid to make the killing look like Gus’s fault.

With humor, heart, and a dash of danger, Chicken Fried Corpse proves that in Seaview, murder isn’t just bad for business—it’s always served hot.
