I thought the past died the night my father killed my stepmother and then himself. I did everything I could to convince my stepbrother to stay away so he’d have a better life without me. I lied. I said horrible things. I even fell into a relationship with the manipulative rookie who comforted me at the crime scene. But I didn’t save Reid all those years ago…

I condemned us both.

Four years the military kept me from Tauren. My sister thinks by ignoring my calls she can escape her promise. That if I don’t exist, neither will the past. She’s wrong. I’m back, and I’m here to collect. Tauren said she belonged to me.

I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure she always does.

I ARC read this book and let me tell you it was hard to put down. This book is a must read for fans of Forbidden Dark Romance & Obsession. This books gives you a front row seat to witness Tauren and Reid heal from experiencing real life trauma from abuse to obsessive disorder. The book did an excellent job painting a clear picture of Mental Health struggles. The book was well written and for a novella it read like a Novel.

Both Reid & Tauren have rich backstories. These are very believable characters. They are an unlikely half-sibling duo that through their highs and lows find friendship, love, co-dependency, protection, understanding, salvation, and of course their HEA.

The book is packed full of tropes. So definitely check your triggers!

I not only recommend this book. I dare you to find a better dark romance book that addresses such a sensitive topic like MH. The storytelling of Alaska Angelini is realistic and honest! She makes OBSESSIVE personalities sexy.

Oh did I fail to mention that Alaska Angelini aka A. A. Dark is also the QUEEN of Mindf*ckery. Prepare to have your mind blown. In a deliciously dark manner!

“A lesson on taking the bull by the horns.”

“Only Everything” by Alaska Angelini is now live on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited, and what better way to celebrate it than with a book review 🖤

Transparency notes:

1- I received this book as an advanced reader copy.

2- I went into this book blindly.

3- This was not my first Alaska Angelini/A. A. Dark book.

‼️ Spoilers ahead ‼️

~ Summary:

Tauren’s life has been everything but easy. After loosing her mom to cancer, she was forced to move back with her estranged father, something Tauren wishes she never had to do. Luckily, she finds comfort in her step-brother Reid, but although they both live under the same roof, their upbringing turns out to be extremely different. Having only each other for support, their relationship grows closer, until a series of traumatic experiences pushes them to a point of no return. What they don’t know, is that their secret bond will have consequences that would only seem possible in their worst nightmares.

~ Analysis:

⚠️ Warning: This story addresses very dark topics that can be triggering to the reader. I shared a list of the triggers I found at the end of this review. For a full list, please refer to A. A. Dark’s Mad Girl Publishing site ⚠️

. Reviewer’s note: This analysis and review will be centered exclusively on the main female character, Tauren.

As a consequence of being victimized at a young age, Tauren’s trauma seeps through adulthood, causing her to develop a codependency to her romantic partners.

This codependency is a survival skill Tauren relies on in order to cope with a life weakened by depression.

The inability to relate to Tauren’s trauma leads Read to misconstrue her needs as manipulative, which is clearly illustrated when he ask himself whether he is being used by her.

Ironically, it is because of Reid’s manipulations, that Tauren chooses to take the bull by its horns and impose her boundaries while simultaneously satisfying his need for reassurance.

~ Review:

The push and pull dynamic between Tauren, Reid and Emmet‘s love triangle divides Tauren’s journey into two distinct moments:

1- Raw, lonely and misunderstood.

2- Determined, empowering and cathartic.

The first is a slow paced moment that reflects Tauren’s struggle, which I believe will resonate with many readers.

The second one represents Tauren’s transformation, a signature A. A. Dark moment that I personally gravitate towards the most.

The insightful way in which the author portrayed Tauren’s emotions was heart felt and real, and I believe this book accomplished a new level of authenticity.

To portray the cycle of abüse-victim blaming and re-victimization is not an easy task. The many nuances of this cycle can be hard to comprehend and even harder to empathize with. I commend the author for their ability to build a story that represent this cycle accurately.

~ Final thoughts:

“Only Everything” is the first novella of a Dark Romance series entitled “The Obsession Series” by Alaska Angelini.

This installment is an interesting introduction to the series and it does intrigue the reader on what else is to come for these characters.

I recommend this book to seasoned Dark Romance readers, to Horror Romance readers and to readers with little to no-triggers that enjoy dark and psychological reads.

- Main male character: Reid, red, (“seeing red”) : Reflects the main male character’s inner anger.

- Emmet: I have a theory about this name choice but I’m going to save it to myself.

Only Everything by Alaska Angelini and WOW 😳🔥 This dark romance novella is intense, emotional, and absolutely unputdownable. Tauren & Reid’s story tackles trauma, obsession, and forbidden love with heart-wrenching depth. Full of suspense, passion, and twisted romance—this one will stay with you long after the last page. 💀❤️

Please watch for triggers.

Alaska Angelini knows just what to put in a dark theme every single time. Alaska know's just how to make us love that dark morally grey hero, even when sometimes you feel as if you should not, but still do. Not even like him, you actually loveeee him. She's genius at creating a strong FMC, like no other, she has that skill perfected, not just with this new character but with every single FMC.

Alaska Angelini is my very favorite dark romance/horror author.

This story is of the strength of survival, the deepest bond, secrets, lies, and doing anything to protect those that you love.

The story of Reid and his step-sister Tauren (whose name I also love) and their traumatic past, reliving that past that ripped them apart with devastating lies and how they end up finding their way back into each other's lives when there is so much to overcome and a lot of healing from the broken crippling past. Sometimes though, you can still see the edges of those cracks still raised, and nothing can erase them from the pain you felt, some pain is unforgivable.

Very dark themes, and mental health triggers.

4.5 but only because I felt the room could have played more into this story.

First off I wanna say I started reading AA Dark which I found Alaska and all of the books under her as well. I love both but they are very different genres. AA Dark is pitch black and had her signature 3 tiers of darkness. But Alaska is a little more tame but not for beginners.
However this book I felt was an amazing tip a toe in the taboo world. It had a good plot and story and I felt very invested right from the start. It was fast paced and I never felt bored.

The FMC and MMC were both dealing with their own traumas and how to work through them and I enjoyed reading those thoughts. I enjoyed the ending and the FMC moment she deserved.
Overall this was a great read and I wanna read more taboo from Alaska/AA Dark 😈

I had the pleasure of reading this forbidden love dark romance novella as an ARC, and it completely captivated me. The characters felt so realistic—flawed, vulnerable, and beautifully human. Their connection was magnetic, and every choice they made carried real emotional weight. I ended up giving it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because while I could have easily read a full-length version, it delivered everything a dark romance novella should—intensity, emotion, and heat packed into every page.

I absolutely loved everything about Reids and Taurs story. It was a super hard and emotional read at times, so have your tissues ready and I would make sure you're in the right head space for some trauma.

Taur came to live with her dad after her mom passed away. That's where she met her new step brother and his mom Betsy who she fell in love with. Reid and Taur because best friends. Everything was great until Reid found her one day and found of some of the truth of what had been going on behind close doors. She promised Reid they would leave together and get away from it all.

Fast forward to present day, where Reid and Taur are about to be reunited after what Reid thinks was a betrayal from Taur. Funerals, untold secrets, new man, abuse, and a love that meant you were "his" forever. Be ready for twists and turns and lots and lots of trauma. Also be ready for someone to get their power slowly back!!!

This is a dark taboo step siblings romance. Some of the things mentioned in this book are very dark and have a big mental health representation so please mind your triggers. Highly recommend.

5⭐ 3🌶️

I absolutely devoured this book. Second chance romance is my jam and I really loved the forbidden and taboo aspects added to this one, along with the dark subplots and heartache. “It’s always been you” will get me every time but this one truly GOT me good.

I adored Tauren–she goes from beaten down, broken, and barely hanging on to absolutely fierce, in control, and full of life. I started out wanting to shake her and scream “wake up” but by the end I was cheering her on and was so grateful to watch her and Reid ride off into the sunset.

And Reid? Don’t tell Boston, but he may have some competition. Reid is so strong, possessive…a little unhinged…but fiercely dedicated to protecting Tauren. We love a dedicated man, y’all. Their relationship may have been a little toxic at times, but by the end I was basking in their red-flag filled obsession.

I’m normally an A.A Dark girl through and through but Alaska really got me with this one and I think I’ll be circling back to Slade in the near future…because I’ve heard he’s got the same vibes and I’m here for it.

~Only Everything~The Obsession Series~Alaska Angelini, A.A. Dark~

"I'd try to make you better. I would keep you, and love you, and do everything in my power to show you how much. Maybe I wouldn't be enough. That doesn't mean I would stop trying."

♡This was my first read written by Alaska Angelini, & I devoured it from beginning to end, leaving no crumbs behind! Only Everything is an obsession filled forbidden step-sibling dark romance with twists & turns that left my head spinning & my heart ready to beat out of my chest! The way Alaska wove trauma & obsession together in a beautifully raw web truly had my jaw on the floor.

Reid & Tauren's story was heartbreaking & healing all at the same time. They show one another that you can love the broken pieces while also helping mend them. I can't wait to see what Alaska has in store for the rest of this series!♡

~As Always Happy Reading~

This is a dark romance thriller with chilling moments and a beautiful twisted love story. This is, Tauren and Reid’s story. They were brought together when their parents got married. Reid saw right through his new step father, Frank. He was drunk, mean and abusive. Tauren moved in when she was 13 and that’s when Reid fell in love with her. “it’s always been us, it’ll always be us”
Years later Emmett came into Tauren’s life. He was no better than her dad. Abusive and condescending. Reid never gave up on Tauren during the years they were apart. But was their love enough?
Alaska Angelini did an amazing job with plenty of suspense, heartache, dark situations and tense moments making this book one for the ages. Never missing a beat Alaska took us on a ride, one that will stick around long after the last page.

Only Everything by Alaska Angelini is a dark romantic thriller. I always devour anything Alaska Angelini (AA Dark) writes and this novel is no different. It is a beautifully written tale of a dark and twisted romance. The plot is exciting and fresh. It not only gives a romance that moves you to tears but a thriller and suspense story that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
As someone who has scars of her own from a dark past the novel brought tears to my eyes as I read Tauren describe her situation and how she was feeling. This novel moved me in ways I did not expect.
Tauren dealt with years of abuse at the hands of her father and then later from a boyfriend. Her only savior and hope is a forbidden love with her step brother Reid.
This book is so good and delivers an emotional roller coaster. I highly recommend and all of the books written by Alaska Angelini (AA Dark).

A marvelous read where I would consider it somewhat lower stakes but I loved every single page of it. Well written and a fast paced read, I wasted no time settling down and reading through it in its entirety.

Tauren and Reid were two that went through hell together and grew together through their traumatic, crippling past. Taurean’s boyfriend met his match in this novel, but anything goes in the middle of a forest where the FMC is in danger.

Reid though… LOVE him. Morally grey to the max, willing to do ANYTHING for Tauren. Strong, protective and fierce. Tauren was incredibly resourceful given her predicament and I loved that about her since it’s not necessarily something you see in books often.

If you love yourself some dark forbidden romance this book is right up your alley— a quick, short read that’s sure to keep you glued into your seat and difficult to put down.

This one not only hits differently but the depth and mental health representation is astounding. For me it hit all the right spots. Their bond and chemistry is volcanic. These broken souls go through so much. The writing is so vibrant it feels like we’re right there with them. The story unravels in this beautifully crafted way. It’s immediately addicting and with each turn of the page it becomes more a part of you. They etched themselves inside me. There’s growth, determination, obsession, tragedy, despair, love, and oh my god is there passion and maybe a bit of smut.

It’s unexpected and enthralling. Just utterly unputdownable.

Tauren and Reid are messed up in a beautiful and tragic way. Let me say, I will read anything that Alaska and AA Dark writes ever since I devoured the 24690 series years ago. That said I thought the pacing was well done and the characters were so well though out. We follow step siblings Tauren and Reid as they are healing from the trauma of their childhood that lead up to their actions and teenager and their with not only others as adults but their relationship with each other. This is a pretty dark book with some HEAVY triggers and taboo content. Please protect your mental health and read the triggers before consuming the content.

3.5 🌟
The writing in this is great and one of things I loved is that the fact they're step sibs isn't the whole plot. There's a lot of other plot going on that involve control, abuse, trauma etc and it's so well written.
However, there was just something missing for me in the second part of the book but I can't put my finger on it. The pacing was quite slow and I felt as though we were on the precipice of something happening that didn't really materialise. I would have liked to have known abit more about the room towards the end... still an enjoyable forbidden story.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s certainly a stalker romance, step siblings with trauma past. I just love Reid and Tauren’s story, this book had all the feels my heart raced several times for all different reasons. Definitely a book filled with obsession but I personally wouldn’t call this book too dark but I’m a very dark reader and I found this one refreshing. As a huge fan of the author I can’t wait for the next big release !!

Looking for a dark romance then look now further than this novella, Only Everything. I enjoyed seeing Reid and Tauren grow throughout the pages and the struggles that they had to endure to find their HEA. Their story was realistic and they were very relatable character's. I encourage all romance readers to read it.

must read! outstanding

Obsession!

This book absolutely outstanding!

The author nailed the abuse, the trauma, the hurt, all of it!

The MMC is a beautifully written ex military and he is highly trained to love his sister?

The FMC is full of trauma and abuse! She is in love with her brother but will they be able to be together?

Read it and find out!

I really liked the book. I think the first half has quite a bit of action and is fast paced. It did feel like it slowed a bit in the second half and there was quite a bit of inner monologue that happened. But overall, I really liked the book.

This was a great book for dark romance lovers! It has great, well fleshed out characters, a great storyline, and was very realistic. I really enjoyed the connection and growth Reid and Tauren went through to get to their HEA.I enjoyed the fact that they were ordinary people without being billionaires. For a novella it tells a great story and tells it well. I highly recommend this book!
