Ensign Lu Chin, Martian Navy, has a problem. The Federation has defeated the Martian Navy and killed off what little was left of the crew of her drydocked ship, a fast interceptor.

She’s managed to steal ten kilos of platinum, but she can’t unlock the ship’s security codes so she can make a getaway from Mars. Just to make matters worse, she and her ship have been taken over by three unusual “pirates”.

A super-fine short story, bearing the usual Davis "touch".

I've read Glowgems for Profit and wondered how Zac acquire the Profit. Now I know.

Not a lot of character development yet, but the material moves pretty quickly. I am looking forward to the next couple of stories
