Beaten Paths
Elissa Gabrielle's sophomore novel, POINT OF NO RETURN, pulls right out where she parked GOOD TO THE LAST DROP.
Shawn, everyone's fly guy, is free of Aaliyah and her dirty little secrets. Shawn is now trying to get back into his flow, yet, he finds himself lusting after his boy's wife. While he knows it's foul, he can't help it. Is there a reprieve in store for him?
Amber is full of emotions. She's been here with Khalil on many occasions; he cheats, she catches him, and she forgives him. But this time, well this time, Amber is the one in need of forgiveness. However, her indiscretion may be a little more troubling as her heart yearns for another.
As always, Khalil is trying so hard to reconcile with Amber. He knows that he's done her wrong in the past, and prays that this is not the end.
Aaliyah continues to torture herself, as well as Shawn. She can't stand being apart from him and tells him constantly of her love and begs for his forgiveness. Shayla is unimpressed with her sister's feelings. After all, it's all her fault that she wasn't able to snag Khalil. In the mist of confusion, Scott sends Shawn a new potential client, Summer Kelly. Their first conversation reveals a spark like the fireworks on the fourth of July. Will love finally find a way to Shawn's heart?
While I loved GOOD TO THE LAST DROP, I was a little disappointed in POINT OF NO RETURN. There was a lot of sex (which is fine), but I needed more pieces of the story. I wanted to know more about Keisha's circumstance. However, I laughed my head off; I love me some Scott, Keshia and Amber. Elissa is definitely an author whose stories capture your full attention. I can't wait to see how the drama unfolds in the next episode...
