Ashley has been taken by Franklin Joyce. Franklin Joyce is a monster.
Ashley is having a bad day at the office. Ben is following her, he's even followed her home, and she's not interested. She just wants him to leave her alone. She even hides in the basement car park to catch him at it.
Which is the last thing she'll do before Franklin Joyce comes into her life.
Franklin Joyce wasn't taught to do the things he does. Franklin Joyce was twisted as a child so far that he just knows them. He takes people and does what he wants with them over extended periods. Extended periods of torture. Extended periods of terror. He rapes. He cuts. He tears. He kills.
Will Ashley escape her prison? Will there be anything after the horror for her? Is the life that Franklin Joyce gives her the only one she will ever know?
The Devil's Double is a dark psychological horror containing extreme and disturbing acts.
THE DEVIL'S DOUBLE sees Ericmore introducing us to his latest villain, 'Franklin Joyce', and he might be the most depraved yet! Even experienced readers of extreme horror are likely to encounter a few completely new acts of torture and cruelty in this one.
Well that was sure bleak as hell. Definetly up there with Ericmores most extreme reads. And the writing and storytelling was immaculate, making this a great read that I went through super fast. I'd love to read more of Franklins fucked up life!
When an author tells you this is their most extreme work to date, for the love of all things dear, heed their warnings!
Ashley thought Ben was the one to watch, but she never noticed Franklin. A sadist of epic proportions, a chip off the old block, with a legacy to continue.
This is very graphic with scenes so vivid you can hear the crunch in your head. Even more disturbing is the psychological entrapment compounded by the equivocal narrative. You can’t escape while reading, or after reading.
We follow a psychopath, and sadist, Franklin. He has always been violent, and unhinged since childhood. His father, Seymour, didn't help matters much, but, still grew to fear his own son, due to the complete absence of soul behind his cold eyes. Franklin, all grown up, is on a mission to brutally maime, torture, and sexually assault as many women, and sometimes children, as he can, while flat out killing men. His ultimate goal, to find one he can keep. To break her spirit. To own her. Ashley, a simple business woman who works in an office, surrounded by guys who all seem to fancy her, can't even find solice at home, where it seems her neighbor does, too. As paranoid, and as careful as she is, and has been, Ashley still finds herself in the clutches of a mad man, and held captive in a home. Once she awakens, the first thing in her mind, obviously, is finding a way out of this strange place she has found herself in. The only thing, this house is odd. It has not windows, or doors. How can that be? A house with no windows, or doors? No entrance, and, no exit? All Ashley knows is that she can hear a voice, throughout the house, telling her what to do, and, in the hopes that she will find a way out, or make it out alive, Ashley will be put through trials, of the most unimaginable things, that she will have to comply with, if she wants to keep going. This was a really great one from Ash! It was said that this one was gonna be brutal, and it lived up to the hype, for sure. One of the sickest I have read, yet, from this author! Very well done. I highly recommend this to people who can stomach child abuse, some sexual, torture, tons of blood, and an unnerving story that will stick with you, well after finishing. 5⭐/5⭐
Ashley has been taken by Franklin. He is the biggest piece of shit you can imagine. And he is desperate for a baby. Especially after how the last one turned out. Will he get the baby he wants? How far will he go to get what he wants?
Jesus fucking Christ. When you think you’ve read it all by Ash, you haven’t. Until you’ve read this monstrosity. Every trigger is in this so please heed that warning. Chapter one was a wild ride. I knew what I was getting into from that chapter alone. Microwaves and babies don’t mix did you know? Well you soon will. This hit every mark for an extremely fucked up story. No I’m not complaining I loved it but it was sick. What a damn story. His father is no better in reality. Both sickos. Twisted carnage just the way we like it! Save us all who have read this. This is gonna stick with me like flies on shit. One not to be missed if this is your vibe
There's not many extreme horror books I've read that actually make my stomach go and make me have to tell a moment to regather before continuing reading, this book did that with the VERY FIRST CHAPTER... and strangely I love it for that
this is definitely the most EXTREME read from the catalogue of ash ericmore but it is one you will want to keep reading out of sheer morbid curiosity and I mean that in the best way possible
Wow I knew this was going to be something different from Ash! The first chapter had me in a chokehold & i genuinely said OMFG at the end of it 😱 I couldn’t stop reading until I was finished, which says it all…UNREAL 👏🏼
Franklin was brought up by a father that made torture seem like it was a fun game to play regularly. His methods are completely different to your stereotypical kills 🫣 He taught Franklin how to inflict the worst kind of pain mentally & physically without having to do much leg work, he knew how to break a person within mere minutes.
Franklin uses this in his adult life, he’s developed a taste for a certain kind of relationship & family unit, one that’s on his terms only. He will not be told no, they all learn that the hard way….his needs will always be met no matter the cost.
Franklin is all kinds of F’d up 🫣
I just knew from the very first chapter this was going to be a 5⭐️ read. Ash has described this as his most extreme work…that I fully agree with, my god I could not tear my eyes away! I fear the fictional Franklin! That man is sadistic & F’d in every worse way!!
I devoured it!! One of my favs from Ericmore to date!! Out 11th November, do check those triggers, it has extra warnings for this one!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love Ash's writing, and he seems to push the realms of common decency.....who am I kidding, there is no decency here.
I would not recommend this if you are new to EH/splatter, its definitely on the more extreme end.
However, give this a bash if you're an sp veteran! It's repulsive, literally no one to root for (you had to choose one of the most reviled jobs for the victim 🤣🤣) but, if you enjoy this stuff then you will LOVE to hate Franklin!
I both hate and love Ash for this horrific story. Ash really out did himself with this one. Franklin is intense and at times hard to stomach with his graphic brutality. This book will stick with me for a while the feels hit hard. Mr Ericmore showed his epic creativity in this book I can’t wait for more.
