AKA: Lucinda Edmonds Lucinda Riley was born in Northern Ireland, and after an early career as an actress in film, theatre and television, wrote her first book aged twenty-four. Her books have been translated into thirty-seven languages and sold thirty million copies worldwide. She is a No.1 Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller.
Lucinda’s The Seven Sisters series, which tells the story of adopted sisters and is inspired by the mythology of the famous star cluster, has become a global phenomenon. The series is a No.1 bestseller across the world with total sales of over fifteen million copies.
Lucinda and her family divided their time between the U.K. and a farmhouse in West Cork, Ireland, where she wrote her books.
Perhaps from all books in the series this one is my least favourite. It was essential, I loved historical part (as usual), but the present just annoyed me. It felt very rushed. I understand, that it could not have been easy to write a story with so many characters and moving parts - we have chapters about missing sister, we have chapters about past and at least one chapter dedicated to each sister. It felt very “cat and mouse” scenario and really did not feel any connection with Mary.
The next instalment of Riley’s epic saga follows the sisters as they embark on a global quest to track down their missing sibling. Uncovering secrets and unraveling long-held mysteries, each clue brings them closer to answers but ultimately raises more questions. Who was Pa Salt and what was his story? Addictive storytelling.
Another layer of the sisters story keeping me up late, not wanting to stop until I finished. Depth of characters and history intertwined to tell a story of loss and love.
Lucinda Riley does not disappoint!! As soon as you enter the historic background of the story it is as if you are a time traveler. Looking forward to the conclusion of this amazing series.
