Went on a date with the Bowen Dupree.

Didn’t know who he was then.

Wish I didn’t know now.

In my defense, I grew up overseas. And I’m pre-med. I don’t have time for celebrity gossip—I barely have time to sleep.

So, it’s a miracle when my roomie convinces me to stop studying and attend a blind date-scavenger hunt. The one hard and fast rule? No exchanging names until the end.

I win the date lottery. My guy’s quick-witted, unfairly gorgeous—hello, stormy gray eyes—and feels like someone I’ve known forever.

By the time we reach the final task, a kiss for the camera, I’m confident this will be my last first kiss.

I duck into the bathroom for a breath check, but when I come back out…

He’s gone.

No note. No number. Just a night that felt like magic collapsing into a sucker punch I never saw coming.

A week later, Griffin Dupree asks me out. He’s safe, steady, and everything I should want. And yes, his family is stacked with country music stars, bestselling authors, and an NFL QB. But Griffin doesn’t want the spotlight—he just wants me.

Things are finally looking up.

Until I meet his family…and lock eyes with his brother across the table.

I nearly fall out of my chair.

Turns out, the boy who vanished? Is my new boyfriend’s younger brother, Bowen.

When those stormy gray eyes lock on mine, I know…

Bowen Dupree isn’t done with me yet. Not even close.

「 my thoughts 」
4⭐️ this book did not disappoint i loved it all the characters were so fun and i loved the scene where they were telling bowen to basically go after magnolia and how they all were supporting him. and i was like this 🤏close to sobbing whenever sage died that was horrible. ALSO THE THING WITH GRIFFIN AND JULIETTE HE BETTER GET BACK TO THE RANCH AND AWAY FROM ARIZONA WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM. also i would rlly like a book for them🙏😭

。၄၃ characters ၄၃ 。

॥ bowen॥ : honestly i can relate so much to just trying to do everything to make someone else happy even when it’s at the cost of your own happiness. i am so glad tho that he got over that bump and does stuff for him. i also loved how he loved maggie so much that he would give up griffin for her. also i loved that bowers number was 167🥲

॥ maggie॥ : sooo i feel like she should’ve stopped dating griffin as soon as she knew bowen was his brother and she still liked bowen but that’s just me

॥ griffin॥ : not gonna hold you there is so much wrong with him. he was so rude to his brother and so mean, and took advantage of him far too many times. and then when he said he never wanted to come back but actually meant i wanted to slap him not to mention when i wanted to punch him in the face bc of him leaving juliette like what is wrong with you swallow your pride and give it a shot

॥ fletch॥ : genuinely he was so funny there were so many scenes that i just wanted to go into the pages and ask him to be my best friend🩷😭 tho ngl the whole toe nail/hair ripping thing was a bit odd

॥ juliette॥ : i loved how easily she fit into their family, and i loved how she stood for what she wanted

Wow! I knew this book was going to be wild ride given the drama that played out in Sing Me Home, but I didn’t realize the depth and the hurt that was between Bowen and Griffin.

Susan knows how to write all the tension, pain, and angst. If there was an award for that ability she would be a gold medalist, expert level, master teacher. For reals! These books put me through the wringer. But even better than that they always-ALWAYS-have the best, most perfect happily ever after-EVER!

Prepare yourselves. Have tissues ready. Lots of tissues. Emotional damage coming your way! Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Thank you Callie Mae Shaw for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

If you are ready to hop on an emotional roller coaster then this book is calling to you! For the ultimate experience, grab the previous book in this series “Sing Me Home,” but you can certainly enjoy this hard fought happily ever after as a stand alone. Is Bowen my new favorite MMC and Dupree?? I think it’s definitely possible! Is it worth the costs and sacrifices to go all in on the one you love??

There are some hard and heavy topics discussed in this book so please check your content warnings if you need to!

Book 2 of the Seddletowne Two: Finding Home Series - Welp. I cannot remember the last time a book had me crying so much 🥲 I really really don’t know how to talk about this book without spoiling anything so bear with me.

From the get go, this book packs a punch. I was crying in chapter one. And I’m not an easy person to get to cry at books. This book’s themes and circumstances felt heavier to me than Susan/Callie’s other books and that probably just a personal thing (be sure to check out the content warnings if you are affected by heavy life circumstances).

Susan writes characters and circumstances that feel so real and raw that I feel like I’m in it with them. My heart broke for both MCs and the side characters so many times throughout this book that I lost count. The characters have so much humanity, that you can’t help but want to give them grace as they try, fail, and try to learn from their mistakes.

Susan/Callie’s specialty is love that has to be fought for and this one is no different. So much is against Bowen and Magnolia that they have to fight for each other. There’s a lot of swinging and missing, but their HEA is a sweet one that made me cry happy tears with Maggie 💕

This is a closed door contemporary romance with just kissing minimal cursing and very heavy experiences. There is a detailed authors note and content warnings at the beginning of the book.

p.s. Susan/Callie is killing me leaving me with even more questions and dying for more of these second generation books. What are all these kids DOING?!

**Thank you so much to Susan/Callie for letting me read this gifted ARC. No positive review was required. All thoughts are my own.**

Wow! The moment this ebook hit my Kindle, I dove in, and I couldn’t stop reading!

After being introduced to Maggie and Bowen’s story in Sing Me Home, and I was SO ready to see how things would unfold. But I was not prepared for the emotional roller coaster this story would take me on. And honestly? It was worth every single twist and turn.

Now I understand why this one took its time... it has SO much more depth! This isn’t just a love triangle between two brothers. We finally get to unpack the wedge that’s been growing between Griffin and Bowen. We’re taken back in time to see how Bowen and Magnolia (Maggie) first met. We witness the pivotal family race and the moment everything changed, and the fallout that fractured not only Bowen and Griffin, but also their relationship with Maggie.

The story goes beyond romance; it dives into family tension, regret, and what happens when the woman of your dreams turns out to be your brother’s girlfriend. And if you’re Bowen? You leave. You pretend it never happened. You try to hate her, make her hate you. But what happens when she keeps showing up at every family event… with your brother… and those feelings won’t go away?! And then one day, she shows a little interest in you? That’s when things get complicated.

We get it all:
Forced proximity
Fake dating
Enemies to more
Love Triangle

I loved it!!!

It's angsty, emotional, and so satisfying. There are steamy kisses, innuendo, a bit of language, and some tougher topics, so definitely read Susan's (Callie’s) disclaimer before diving in.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. This review reflects my honest opinion.

When I pick up a book by Callie Mae Shaw/Susan Henshaw, I know without a doubt I am in for an emotional roller coaster. Her stories never fail to bring the angst and the drama, but also the heart. Even knowing all of this, I was not at all prepared for this one! It was perhaps her most emotional story yet... and while I can't give away all the details as to why, just trust me that you'll want to have tissues handy for this one. We got to see a little bit of Bowen and Magnolia's story in Sing Me Home (I do highly recommend reading it first) and I absolutely could not wait to get the full story... and boy, was it worth the wait! I've said many times before that 'dating the wrong brother' is one of my absolute favorites that shouldn't work but gets me every time. And this one? It brought ALL the angst and drama that you would expect in that scenario... but both the history between Maggie and Bowen and the issues between Bowen and Griffin went so much deeper as well. I loved getting the chance to go back and see how things started, and to see that infamous moment from book one from their perspectives. I don't love cheating; I don't love love triangles... but I loved this story. Somehow, Susan once again took a messy situation and made it work... and work beautifully. Theirs was the slowest of burns filled with both heartbreak and healing with a hard fought happily ever after completely worth waiting for... and I absolutely loved it. The Duprees are all put through the absolute wringer in this one, and I cannot wait to see what's in store for them next.

No Way Home is a closed-door romance with detailed kisses only. It does have some minor innuendo and language as well. This story does not shy away from tough topics, so I do recommend reading the author's note for potential triggers, if needed. It is the second book in the Seddledown Two: Finding Home series. While you may be able to enjoy this one as a standalone, I do think you're going to get the most out of it if you've read at LEAST the first book in this series, if not the original Seddledown series as well.

Two words to describe this book: chaotic and bittersweet.

Magnolia is a force and knows her mind. However, there were times when she quite frankly ignored the red flags, literally resulting in me throwing my Kindle across the room (happy to report everything is fine). Her growth, ability to forgive, and willingness to give second chances were very inspiring. I have to give her kudos for that. I loved that Magnolia surrounded herself with people who were in her corner, keeping her sane and giving her a daily dose of reality.

Bowen’s back-and-forth attitude gave me whiplash. I was really rooting for him to stop screwing up. I'm just glad we got to see him focus on himself and go to therapy, though his reasoning was even more heartbreaking. Seeing his journey, from bending backwards to finally being happy, was so satisfying. Bowen deserves the happily ever after. But the way he treated Magnolia in the first half had me raging.

This had a dual timeline, and honestly, it was needed. It helped me understand Magnolia and Bowen as individuals as well as a couple. The emotional ups and downs were brutal but well worth it in the end. No Way Home left me in absolute shambles. I love Bowen and Magnolia. I can't stop thinking (and crying) about James and Sage. And I still absolutely dislike Griffin (IYKYK).

This book has it all - family drama, wholesome moments, and so many heartbreaking ones too. It wraps up Bowen and Magnolia’s love story so well but also leaves you wanting so much more.

I will always recommend anything and everything by Susan. However, I strongly suggest starting with the very first Dupree series to get the full chaotic family experience.

Thank you to Susan for the ARC (and I apologize for the delay). All opinions are my own.

🔥 Heat level: Steamy kisses, closed-door
🫢 Language: Mild, infrequent

This was a really good contemporary romance. The author was not wrong. I was laughing out loud before the second chapter ended. I read almost the entire book in a single sitting.

I do not like the cheating “trope.” When these two cheated in the last book (a kiss in a moment of victory in an obstacle course race), I was unsure how future books would go. This book works to make the cheating not be okay and to show the devastating effects of things, but ultimately a romantic “soulmate” is more important than family.

This book had a lot with family and friends. There were highs and lows, love and loss. It really is an “emotional romance,” as the author terms is. There was second chances, forced proximity, and more. We spent a good chunk of time in the past to gain more backstory of how that kiss came to be. This book makes an effort to show imperfect people making mistakes, the fallout from that, and how healing comes around. I appreciated all of the threads that came together for the ending of this book.

The romance in this book is kisses only, intimacy level 3+. There is quite a bit of innuendo, some hands roaming under clothing (but not as far as the undergarments areas), and a bikini scene. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

Content: cheating, a few instances of language, sexual harassment, death

I received an eARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Woo-wee, this book is an experience! I didn’t know if I was coming or going. If you haven’t read “Sing Me Home,” I’d encourage you to! It’s not required, but why not get an even fuller picture if you can, right?!

This book has a dual timeline and dual POV, giving us a 360° view—what happened before, what’s happening now, and even moments from before Bowen and Maggie met. It felt so immersive! This story will absolutely wreck you, make you laugh, and leave you stunned and wanting more.

Bowen is part of the big Dupree family — a second-generation story. He’s the son of Lemon and Silas, whose story is One Last Thing.

Bowen is “emotionally constipated” after the fallout with his older brother, Griffin, and Magnolia. He’s been consumed with repairing his relationship with Griffin, with no respite. From there, we jump back to the day Griffin and Magnolia meet — which is equal parts hilarious, endearing, and distressing!

This story is just too good, and I don’t want to say too much and give things away, so just read it! You’ll find in this book are trials, reconciliation, unbreakable bonds, destiny, heartbreak, and a whole lot of love.

This book was fantastic! The angst, emotional depth, heartbreak, and HEA definitely had me on an emotional rollercoaster, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. I love the realness that Callie Mae Shaw brings to her characters, and Bowen and Maggie's story is no different. There are some tough themes that are discussed in this story, so I would recommend reading the author's note at the beginning!

Favorite Quotes:
"Bowen was a protector. Of people, of hearts. That's what I was learning."

"But if I had stayed, if I had chosen myself for once, I could have had it all with you ... Because that's who you are. The girl that makes everything better, everything brighter. I know I'm asking for something I don't deserve. Trust me, I know. But I want to be the guy that makes everything better for you. I want it so badly, it's all I think about." - Bowen

Tropes:

“I’m not leaving you, ever again. Okay?”

Man, these Duprees! Okay, Bowen. We believe you! Truly, if there was an award for the best fictional family, this clan would win it. Every. Single. Time.

While it is always fun to get a glimpse of the couples we’ve met earlier and a tiny peek into what comes ahead, I am always in awe of how the main romance always feels like the best one. Until the next one comes around. Every author with a series of standalones somehow possesses this magical ability to give every character their due. And we’re just here to witness all these characters live their happy ever after, of course! ♥️

The thing I loved the most about Magnolia and Bowen is how they just knew they belonged with each other right when they first met. While he thought he was on a date with his wife, her very soul recognised him with relief. This possibly made rooting for them through their tumultuous journey quite interesting.

“Her laughter was oxygen, and I was suffocating without it.”

Book two with the fun Dupree family and this time we're treated to Bowen's story. Bowen, who will do anything to keep his elder brother Griffin happy. Even if it means not to go after the girl he wants, letting Griffin have her instead.

Oh my poor heart! I think I went through every emotion while reading this book. The tension and angst was sky high and the laughs and fun banter on point. Bowen was such a good guy, despite trying to please his brother but there were times when I wanted to kick Griffin into seeing what he was doing to hurt him. Magnolia "Maggie" was a fantastic female lead and we are treated to both her and Bowen's POV throughout this book. If you enjoy love triangles, romances with depth and lots of emotion, this book (read the previous one too if you can!) is for you.

Once again, the author has affirmed why I love this series so much and I can't wait to read the next instalment.

Bowen Dupree and Magnolia (Maggie) have a rough road they have to travel to be together. After one night and no names exchanged, later they meet again.... across a dinner table, as she's dating his brother Griffin. Oof, Griffen and Bowen are very much on the outs in this one!

Man, I love this family! This second generation book brings so much heartache (have tissues!) but also the warmth and the protection being in this family's circle brings. I feel like a proud, honorary aunt or sister reading these books. That's how amazing they are, you just want to insert yourself in with them.

The ending of this one both tore my heart in two in one way and stitched it back together in another.

This one is a hard one to write, because I have to start with the spoiler alert, which is also a warning.

I don’t usually read a book with cheating… the only reason I stuck this one out was because I wanted (or needed?) to know what happened, and I do love Susan/Callie’s writing.

Though there is cheating (thoughts and one kiss), both MCs acknowledge it, neither one is proud of it, and they know it was wrong. It’s not glossed over, it’s not hidden. It had its consequences, and both MCs have to face the consequences. However, there isn’t really a note stating that there is cheating, you have to read the previous book, Sing Me Home, to understand the whole story — but you do see the scene again in this book.

Okay, spoiler, and warning, over.

I adored the angst in this book. The chemistry was so tangible, and with all of Susan/Callie’s books, the characters lived realistic lives. They weren’t perfect, they had to face real life issues, and they overcame them.

One of my favorite parts of a Seddledown novel is the family aspect. Although Maggie was missing her mom, she had a supportive and caring father, and a best friend who looked out for her. And Bowen comes from the Dupree line, so he’s got a plethora of supportive characters (except for the Dummkopf brother).

My heart hurt for Bowen and everything Griffin put him through — I’m not ready for Griff to get an HEA… I know, the poor guy has suffered having so many girls choose his brother over him… but he needs a good knock on the head for how he treated Bowen. I did really like how Bowen did fight his feelings for Maggie, but I wish that Griffin hadn’t manipulated him the way he did.

As with every Seddledown novel there is an HEA, and the characters must fight for it. But be warned, this one has a rough and bumpy ride, and for those who struggling with cheating, this might not be the novel for you.

Thank you to the Emily’s and Susan/Callie for my gifted copy!

This was such a sweet story, one that was so hard to put down! I was immediately swept up in Bowen and Magnolia’s journey.

Their story isn’t an easy one, especially since Bowen’s brother, Griffin, has a crush on Magnolia when they first meet. Magnolia eventually becomes Griffin’s girlfriend after Bowen ditches her on their blind date (which was full of sparks!), thinking he’s doing everyone, especially his brother, a favour.

I loved how Bowen was always there for Magnolia, even when she didn’t think he was. The family element was also beautiful, I really enjoyed how close everyone was, especially since Magnolia only had her dad, who was away on tour most of the time.

I haven’t read the first book in this series, but I could still follow along easily. Still, I’m sure there were bits I missed, so I’ll definitely be reading the first book soon!

4.5⭐️ 0.5🌶️ No Way Home - This is book 2 in the Seddledowne Two: Finding Home series. This is Bo’s story and I’m so excited to finally be reading it. Talk about an emotional roller coaster 🎢, though. I definitely gasped and said OMG a few times. YES, there is a HEA, but it’s hard-fought. Callie knocked it out of the park with this one.

Bowen (Bo) Dupree and Magnolia (Maggie) Hollis met when they were 18 and had an instant connection but circumstances kept them apart. Bo knew she was meant to be with him but he had to watch her with his brother from the sidelines for years. The yearning this man did. HE YEARNED. 🥺 He’s so unselfish, to the detriment of his own happiness. When Bo finally decided that he was deserving of love, I was smiling and clapping for him. 🥹

❤️ Emotional
❤️ Self-sabotage
❤️ He didn’t think he deserved her
❤️ Twists & turns
❤️ Funny
❤️ Swoony
❤️ Invisible-strong coded 🧶
❤️ Tension, angst, mental torment
❤️ His letter to her? 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠
❤️ The family support (AKA meddling at times) is top notch

Favorite quotes:
“How does Maggie make you feel in here?”
“Peaceful." Even thinking about her brought peace. Like it did right then. "And happy.”

‘Bowen was a protector. Of people, of hearts. That’s what I was learning.’

BUT IF I HAD STAYED, IF I HAD CHOSEN MYSELF FOR ONCE, I COULD HAVE HAD IT ALL. WITH YOU.

BECAUSE THAT'S WHO YOU ARE. THE GIRL WHO MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER, EVERYTHING BRIGHTER. I KNOW I'M ASKING FOR SOMETHING THAT I DON'T DESERVE. TRUST ME, I KNOW. BUT I WANT TO BE THE GUY WHO MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER FOR YOU. I WANT IT SO BADLY, IT'S ALL I THINK ABOUT.

"What if..."
"What if Griffin comes back?" he guessed.
"Yeah."
"Too bad. I choose you.”

"No buts. It's you and me from now on. No matter what. No more sacrificing our happiness for the happiness of others. Nothing gets in our way ever again. Got it?"

Read this if you like:
*Small town romance
*Enemies-to-lovers
*Redemption/second chance
*Hard-won HEA
*Healing from loss
*Mental health rep
*Soulmates
*Green flag book boyfriend
*Big family dynamics

Content warning: death, grief, medical trauma, sexual harassment/workplace intimidation, threats/assault

*steamy & swoony kisses only*

The Seddledowne Series has been hands down my favorite series to read this year. Returning to the Dupree family in Seddledowne 2 has been like a big family reunion with all of the people you love so much. I swear I could read books about the Duprees for the rest of my life and never get tired of it!

𝒩𝑜 𝒲𝒶𝓎 𝐻𝑜𝓂𝑒 is the perfect addition to this series. From the moment it was hinted at in Sing Me Home, I KNEW I was going to love this book. Bowen and Magnolia are everything and their book is a beautiful reminder of life and how love can be messy and imperfect sometimes.

From the moment Bowen and Magnolia met, it was like they immediately knew each other. Like they had a soul connection that they couldn’t quite explain but could definitely feel. That’s why it was SO heartbreaking to me to watch them go through everything they did. They went YEARS without being together, seeing each other, or talking. YEARS of being enemies because of certain circumstances (I won’t say more 🤐). But when they FINALLY choose each other and fall into their feelings, it is like a big sigh of relief.

There are so many things I love about this book, but I would run out of space listing them all. Here are a few of my very favorites:
- TENSION & YEARNING 🫠
- Seeing the whole Dupree gang again (family all grown up)
- Silas & Clem as parents 🥰
- Bowen being a secret softie
- Bowen & Fletcher’s hilarious friendship
- Magnolia being an awesome med student
- Billy being put in his place AGAIN by the Duprees 😂

This book definitely has ups and downs. Some characters (James 🥺😢) go through it in this book, and others (Griffin 😤) have lots of things they need to work through. Susan is moving things around and setting things up for more Dupree love stories, and though some of it was painful to read, I can’t wait to see where things go! 🫶🏼

These books and this fictional family will always have my heart! I hope you all love Bowen and Magnolia’s story as much as I did. 🧡💙

Thanks to @bookedwiththeemilys @susanhenshaw_calliemaeshaw for the #gifted copy of this book.

The Instagram bio of author @susanhenshaw_calliemaeshaw promises “pure emotional chaos,” and NO WAY HOME delivered just that in a winding story that literally did make me laugh and cry in equal measure.

For the uninitiated (I was), this book is the second book in the second series about a family that is wealthy and famous for a variety of reasons (country stars, NFL players, you name it). What could have been disorienting, however, was not—I haven’t read any of the other books, but each character was introduced with enough context that I didn’t feel lost, even though I haven’t read any other books in the series. The cast of characters was large, but each one had their own personality. There were no cardboard cutout extras here—and I’m very curious to explore more of these characters’ backstories.

Our main characters, Bowen and Magnolia, go on a blind date and are immediately drawn to each other… but everything is complicated because of strained brotherly relationships. I won’t say more here to avoid spoilers, but each character is deeply conflicted about what is right and how they can show integrity while also having the life they want to have. Outside the relationship itself, the characters experienced life challenges that tested them too, in a way that could have broken them but instead built their characters into stronger people.

A final word—the miscommunication trope can be crazy-making, and I found a little of it here, but the author turns it upside down, as family members and friends prod the characters to work through miscommunications when things started to get muddled. It was so emotionally healthy, I could have cheered.

NO WAY HOME kept me entertained straight through and pulled at my heartstrings along the way. Recommend for someone who wants to get lost in some wholesome emotional warfare!

BINGEABLE IN EVERY WAY!

Maggie thought she’d met the perfect guy during a blind date scavenger hunt, funny, charming, and someone who had her believing in love at first sight, until he disappeared without a trace.

A week later, she starts dating Griffin Dupree, a nice guy from a famous family, only to discover that his younger brother Bowen is the mystery man who ghosted her. Now, months after her breakup with Griffin, Bowen’s back in her life, and while his stormy gray eyes still spark something in her, he acts like she’s the last person he ever wanted to see, and she refuses to let him break her heart for the third time.

What you'll love:
second chance at first love
dual pov
brother’s ex girlfriend
soulmates
the sleeping bag
THE FIRST KISS
the intervention
shopping at TJ Maxx
found family
the entire Dupree family

THIS BOOK!!! Oh my word, what an emotional rollercoaster! I loved every minute and would happily visit it again (and again and again...) This story has so much heart and depth! I laughed, I cried, I swooned, and I completely fell in love with the beauty of it all. It’s a story that reminds you how messy and complicated relationships can be, but also how essential our connections with others truly are.

I have been eagerly awaiting Bowen and Maggie's story since reading Sing Me Home and it did not disappoint! Their love story is packed with angst, longing, regret, forgiveness, and healing. The tension between them was perfection and I love that their connection, despite everything stacked against them proved to be unbreakable. They truly are soulmates and I lived for every moment they were on page together.

I also loved the healing that unfolded between Bo and his family. Those moments were both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Honestly, I wish the Duprees were real because I would ask them to adopt me! They're a great reminder that families are messy, imperfect, but always, always worth it.

While you do not have to read Sing Me Home to appreciate this book, it definitely adds some depth and understanding to this story.

If you love stories about soulmates, family drama, and a hard earned happily ever after, this book absolutely belongs in your life! Another favorite story from a favorite author!

I received a complimentary copy but a positive review was not required.

Thank you to @susanhenshaw_calliemaeshaw and @bookedwiththeemilys for the #gifted e-book.

Welcome back to the enchanting world of the Dupree brothers in the second book of the Seddledown Two Series: Finding Home! This captivating installment takes us on an emotional journey as we explore the lives of the Dupree brothers' children, now grown and facing their own challenges.

Prepare to have your heartstrings tugged by the poignant tale of Bowen and Magnolia. Their relationship is filled with longing and heartache, especially since Magnolia is dating Griffin, Bowen's brother, when they first cross paths. Bowen’s choice to honor his brother and hold back his feelings for Magnolia is undeniably noble, even if I found myself wishing he hadn’t been so unkind to her at times.

The author’s writing draws you in from the very first page, maintaining that grip on your emotions throughout the story. I loved the use of flashbacks that weave the past and present together, offering deeper insights into the characters’ feelings. Experiencing the narrative from both Bowen’s and Magnolia’s perspectives added layers of understanding that truly resonated with me.

As always, the Dupree family delivers a delightful mix of humor, love, and faith, but beware, the heart-wrenching tragedy towards the end will leave you breathless.

If you’re a fan of vibrant, chaotic families that love fiercely and celebrate happy endings, then this is a must-read for you! I can’t wait to dive into Griffin’s story, which is already in the works. This title is available now and can be found on Kindle Unlimited. Happy reading!

drama-filled yet funny! must read!

(Reviewing from husband’s account)

Wowee, this was packed with drama, angst, and so much longing. Basically, it was my kind of read.😆

The feet and Fletcher and Abilene made me cackle. 🤣 Callie/Susan knows how to bring levity from the very beginning & I’m glad she did, because this read was so sad at times.😅

Magnolia & Bowen are for sure one of my favorite Seddledowne couples. They had such a rocky history, where Bowen made stupid decisions out of fear, said the wrong thing constantly, and hurt the one person who he ultimately loved most. Magnolia obviously wasn’t perfect either, but her true power came in the forgiveness she gave Bowen (and Griffin) after their mistreatment of her.

Sweet Bowen had been through something so difficult. My heart hurt for him, but I’m so glad he pursued therapy to try and break him thought patterns.

I had some very choice nicknames for Griffin and Topher. Something about buttnutts and the worst of all turds, respectively. I’m anxious to see the driving factors behind Griffin’s insecurities and how that shapes his future with Juliette.

The yearning, the letter, the deep-seated emotions, the caretaking, all of it- I loved this read!! You should pick it up, friends. 🫶🏻

CW: This is a closed-door romance with minimal swearing and making out (a lot of making out, as these two are very physically attracted to one another 🤪). There’s a content warning at the beginning of the book. You should read it. It’s got quite a few things that could trigger readers.

What is unique for me about Callie Mae Shaw’s books is that I know I’m gonna be in for a ride when I read one! The amount of drama and twists and turns feels like being on a roller coaster at times! And also, the banter, dynamics, meddling, bluntness and antics of the whole Dupree family are just as enthralling to me as the romance in the book! They’re largely why I keep coming back for more! The side characters, who were main characters in previous books, don’t just make a tiny little appearance; you still get plenty of time with them on page and I love that! Especially so fun to see the characters from Shaw’s first series who are now the parents of these main characters.

I know there will always be a hard fought HEA. In the case of Bowen and Maggie, it was definitely hard fought and I wondered how it would end with an HEA. But then with a typical Callie Mae Shaw twist towards the end, it did!

Some other thoughts I jotted in my Notes app as I was reading:
- while it was emotional, it was also funny cause Shaw has such a way with words!
- main characters are working hard to redeem themselves from past mistakes
- the Duprees are a very close family but there is no shortage of drama with them!
- Shaw’s talent as a writer amazes me; the many different puzzle pieces she puts together to make the book, and the series, work are so great
- there are relationships other than the romance that are entertaining and awesome
- Bowen and his brother Griffin have some big issues and it was lovely to see how that worked out
- beautiful story of forgiveness and second chance

Overall, loved the book and looking forward to the next in the series!

4.5 stars

I'll be honest, I wasn't at all sure what to expect going into this book - the blurb sounded intriguing but I haven't read the first book so I wasn't sure how it would go. But ooo-weee, I am so glad I took a chance on this new-to-me author/story!
I was captivated from the first page, and that feeling never let up through the whole book. I just had to know how Magnolia and Bowen were going to get their happily ever after (and trust me, I was questioning if they even would for a good portion of the story, wildly hoping they would and that I wouldn't be heartbroken at the end 😅).
No Way Home is a beautiful story with great characters. Love and heartache are woven together to create an emotionally gripping story that you can't help but get attached to.
It's a pretty clean novel. I would have loved a faith theme included, but there wasn't much there for that aspect outside of brief mentions of characters "saying a prayer".
I loved Maggie (Magnolia) and Bowen so much. They were beautifully flawed characters, and I enjoyed following along their journey.
The whole Dupree Family are pretty charming, honestly. I would like to go back and read the first book in this series and also previous series that is connected to No Way Home at some point!

Very well written, and I definitely enjoyed my time spent between its pages!

I received a complimentary ecopy of this novel. I was not required to write a positive review and all thoughts expressed are entirely my own.

This is the first book that I have read by Callie Mae Shaw (Susan Henshaw) and if you are looking for an emotional rollercoaster, No Way Home is it! Bowen and Magnolia’s story had me laughing and crying with a little anger mixed in there too. There is so much self-sabotage, self-sacrifice, self-loathing, and all around not feeling like you are good enough. I loved Magnolia and Bowen from the start; they had instant chemistry and a magnetic pull towards each other. Due to circumstances what starts off as two souls finding their other half, quickly turns to a long road of hurt and longing. My heart ached for both Magnolia and Bowen as they each fought their own demons. I appreciated how the characters in No Way Home were not perfect, that flaws were shown, that things were real, that there was change and healing. I loved all the side characters – Abilene, Fletcher, “Commanding Officer,” and all the Duprees. There is so much love and support for Bowen and Magnolia. It was a bumpy ride for them, but it only makes where they end up so much sweeter and worth it.

My favorite things:
- Sole Mates
- Twister
- Football game
- The password scene
- The trampoline
- Shopping at TJ Maxx
- The entire Dupree family
- His letter to her

Tropes: emotional romance = second chances = enemies to lovers = brother's ex = protective MMC = tension & angst = strong family bonds = swoony kisses.

Happy reading!

No Way Home follows Bowen and Maggie, two deeply wounded characters whose lives have been shaped by loss, family expectations, and past mistakes. When Maggie returns home to rebuild, Bowen—who has loved her his whole life—must face his own guilt and the sacrifices he’s made for others. Their slow-burn story is filled with family loyalty, heartbreak, healing, and the kind of emotional depth that pulls you in immediately.

Wonderful, amazing… I loved this book! It’s the second in the Finding Home series, and I liked it even better than the first—probably because I know the characters now. Bowen and Maggie’s VERY slow burn romance was everything. What they had to overcome—bad choices, painful pasts, messy family dynamics, and self-sacrifice for people who didn’t always deserve it—made their journey so powerful.

Bowen may be my new favorite book boyfriend. He isn’t perfect, but every single thing he does comes from a place of love and loyalty. He’s sweet, kind, and selfless to a fault, carrying blame that was never his to hold. Maggie’s growth is just as impactful, and watching them find their way to each other was incredibly moving.

This book has it all—humor, heartfelt moments, banter, feuding and loving families, emotional punches, laughter and tears. Truly one of my favorites of the month.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Just when you think you Callie Mae Shaw has written your favorite book, she comes out with a new one and tops it off. OH my! where do we start without giving away the book.

There are not exact words to describe this book, it goes beyond a romance to a family saga that will have you enthralled, gasping, swooning, smiling, and well bring on the Kleenex , you might need it for the tears you will shed.

This story is a poignant tale of soulmates who identify themselves, just to be torn apart. But as we know, fate has a way to bring them together at just the right times. Maggie and Bowen are just that, soulmates, who share a memorable moment to just have to hold onto to the memory, then reunite in the worst time, as his brother's girlfriend. But the beauty of this story is on what happens after, in their fight to hold onto to their feelings, in the realization of secrets, in the pain of family drama, and how it affects them all.

I love seeing all the characters from the previous books as the mature adults, guiding the next generation, and keeping the integrity of the Dupree family.

there are not enough words to recommend this book, and the entire series. But trust me this book will not leave you, it will stay with you for a while.

Magnolia, aka Maggie, goes on a fun blind date with a scavenger hunt activity, but they aren’t allowed to know each other’s real names during this date. She got super lucky with her blind date as he is gorgeous and charming. At the end of the scavenger hunt, they are supposed to kiss and take a picture, which happens and Maggie thinks this will be her last first kiss ever. When she goes to the bathroom, Maggie comes out only to find that her date has left. She doesn’t know his real name or even why he left their date when it was going so well.

Obviously, Maggie has to move on and she does with a guy named Griff Dupree. When she meets his family, she sees her blind date and realizes her blind date is Griff’s brother. WTF.

How does Maggie deal with this situation? How does Maggie deal with the many feelings she has for Griff’s brother, Bowen? Does Griff ever find out about their blind date?

I really enjoyed reading this book and there was a lot of complex situations that really help explain the character’s “flaws.” This book touches upon sexual assault and harrassment, death, medical trauma, and threats, but of course, the author does a great job handling these topics with care.
