So glad the 3rd installment is here. I waited oh so patiently for this book. I very much enjoyed this series. Very different from the author's other books and a great storyline.

I'm glad to see there will be future books with the side characters coming soon.

I do have a question, since Wolfe life expectancy is very very long like thousands of years long and Elariya is half human half mage how will that work ? Will she only last less than 100 years or does her life expectancy now last long because she's mated?

Book 1 and Book two were amazing. I could not stop talking about them. I loved the magic. I loved how the curses affected our FMC AND MMC I loved the vulnerability and strength all of the characters exuded.

Then Book 3 came along. And the culmination of events. There was so much that had to happen! We had to find the dragon, the vampires may have a hand in some of this, our MMC had just been accused of murder and is locked away, and our FMC, broke her curse, but still has to find the ring and figure out who she is fighting. And what’s the deal with her Time Magic? It’s beautifully Intricate and suggests some really amazing lore…

Unfortunately, we did not get the depth I was looking for. When discussing war with the Deathless, there was no back and forth, no arguments. No.. anything. Just “we are going to war, yes? Okay. Yes. We are going to war.” We did not get to explore what the Vamperic involvement meant - since they hate the Fae and everyone. Their help just seemed a bit too easily given for how much they hate everyone. The 10 kings coming in to help at the end seemed too coincidental.

Nobody “important” died! After the battle ended, there was no honoring the dead. We went straight to coronation… and a very anticlimactic one. I wanted to see more depth from the dragons. I wanted more depth with this newly discovered well of magic from our FMC.

There was so much potential. It feels like the author was rushed to finish and didn’t get to explore as much of this adventure. It feels like she missed out on her own adventure in her story.

I do like how she brought the end of the Deathless. That was incredibly creative. I really like how the MMC and FMC had to “fight their own demons” in the end to save everything. That was brilliant.

3/5. Decent ending despite the questions.

I have such a love/hate relationship with this series 😂

On one hand, I absolutely love Wolfe and Elariya. Their relationship has been the heart of this series for me, and this book definitely delivered on the emotional side. The found family, the loyalty, the sacrifices, and the way everyone fights for each other are some of my favorite parts.

That being said… I definitely had some frustrations. There were moments where the magic felt a little too convenient, especially when it came to characters gaining new abilities or overcoming huge obstacles. Some things that felt like they should have had a bigger build up or payoff ended up feeling a little rushed.

The pacing was also a bit of a roller coaster. There were parts where I was fully invested and emotional, and other parts where I was sitting there like “wait… that’s it?” 😂

BUT… I can’t deny that I was still hooked. I cared about these characters, I was stressed during the battles, and I absolutely needed to know how everything ended. The ending gave me the HEA I wanted (and yes, I was very happy about that 🥹).

Overall, this series has been a wild ride. It wasn’t perfect for me, but the characters and emotional moments are what kept me turning pages.

The first book of the series was good. The second book was good, but I could tell it was starting to go downhill. This book was very disappointing.

The magic was very inconsistent, and always convenient. Why could they always come up with some sort of spell to help them out, but then couldn't for other things? It didn't make sense. I felt like after every couple of chapters, there was either a new "type" of magic, and it started to feel like lazy writing.

I feel like the process of Elariya getting her memory back was too rushed and very anticlimactic. Which is crazy because that's such a big part of the whole story.

Wolfe's character really went downhill. He started to have no personality, and honestly stupid. How could he have not known some stuff, and acted so shocked when things did happen.

There was so many plot holes, which is probably the biggest reason why I stopped reading. I had to stop at 60% done, I knew that there was nothing that was going to happen, like the rest of the book.

This series had so much potential, and I'm disappointed how it turned out.

An epic conclusion to a fantastic series.

Oh my! This was such an exciting book, I couldn’t put it down. Wolfe is charged with murder, and Elariya along with his most trusted friends and allies are determined to free him of imprisonment from the Citadel. But in doing so, they will have to discover who, or what, is manipulating, and countering, every move they make. Together Wolfe and Elariya will have to battle ancient entities thought to be locked away forever.
A fascinating and complex system of magic that kept me mesmerized. Dragons, exciting and bloody battles in a war no one wanted. Betrayal, kidnapping, and murder in a suspenseful, action packed read with so many twists and turns in the plot that it was impossible to put this book down. These characters are all complicated with multifaceted personalities that seem so real. This dark fantasy romance has plenty of steam, and wonderfully well written characters, I will gladly recommend this series, and book to any fans of this genre.

A stunning ending to the series!

Goodness gracious, I thought was going to implode when the release got pushed back a weak. I stumbled upon this series by accident last year and have been anxiously waiting to complete the final book.
I adore this series. The concept is SO unique and I found myself falling in love with each character and their quirks.
The final installment had the perfect amount of suspense, emotional rollercoasters, and spice.
I'm sad this story is over but SO excited to continue diving into this world with the next installment!

We finally come to the conclusion of this series! The story was fast pace with so much going on but it never felt like it was rushed. Elariya has finally broken the curse but it is.notnover uet. They still must figure out a way to break Wolfe out of prison and still find the ring. The story doesn't disappoint!.

Epic conclusion to an amazing series

Well written, well crafted, and very satisfying. It really reads as a fantasy novel, with spice, rather than romantasy. Tons of work must have gone into creating this world the series is set in. I thoroughly enjoyed the twists and turns. I can’t wait to see what she writes next!

With the finale of the Shadows and Curses story finally comes the resolution to many of the intrigues and issues that have plagued both Wolfe and Elariya have come through some hair-raising troubles. While magic is a convenient way to resolve crises, having to use their other strengths, both physical and emotional, make for a fun read.

This story is out of this world—literally. Dragons, demons, the walking dead, vampires, a war coming, a prince taken, a future queen also taken. OMG, this story was so very, very good.
