Jeannie Walters does something a lot of business books fail to do: she makes customer experience feel both strategic and genuinely practical.

I've known Jeannie for more than 20 years, and what has always stood out about her is that she has never treated customer experience as a buzzword or a corporate slogan. She has lived this work her entire career with a rare mix of clarity, practicality, and genuine empathy for the people on the receiving end of every interaction. That comes through on every page.

Experience Is Everything does not reduce CX to customer service, and it does not romanticize it either. It frames customer experience as a real business discipline: proactive, intentional, and deeply tied to outcomes, connecting mindset, strategy, and discipline in a way that feels clear and usable rather than abstract.

The CX Mission Statement framework alone is worth the price of the book. It gives leaders a concrete way to align teams around what customers should actually expect, what value the organization is genuinely trying to create, how that experience can be delivered consistently, and how customers should feel throughout the journey. That kind of organizational clarity is rarer than it should be.

Smart without being academic. Practical without being dry. Encouraging without sounding simplistic.

If you lead people, work in CX, or are trying to build a more intentional, customer-centered organization, this belongs on your shelf.

The first few pages of this book let's you know that Jeannie Walters understands who the real star of the story is when it comes to customer experience: the customer.

Experience is Everything provides the insight and steps every business needs to establish, refine and redefine their customer experience mission statement. Jeannie Walters expertly illustrates a business-agnostic approach to customer experience that every business owner who wants to attract, retain and sustain customers needs to understand. More importantly, this book explains what matters most to customers.

Consumers have a number of options when choosing with whom they'll do business.
What's crystal clear from reading this book is given a choice, price is not the key differentiator. This is especially true when it comes to service industries like law firms: people want to work with businesses that "show up with humility instead of arrogance and they appreciate a firm that is willingness to listen first and then talk." Imagine that!

If you want to accurately identify your business' unique differentiator and how it resonates with customers, Experience is Everything is your golden ticket.

I got a lot out of "Experience Is Everything: Making Every Moment Count in the Age of Customer Expectations." One of my biggest takeaways was Jeannie’s point that a CX Mission Statement is not just a slogan. It should actually guide decisions and shape the customer experience in a real way.

I also found the section on creating a CX Mission Statement especially helpful. Jeannie breaks it down into practical steps and shares examples of where companies get it wrong or where their actions do not match what they say they stand for. That made the book feel useful, not just theoretical.

One quote that stayed with me was, “Carry your CX Mission Statement in your heart. This is your why.” I also appreciated the later sections on measuring results and keeping the work alive over time. This book gave me a lot to think about and would be helpful for anyone working in customer experience, employee experience, or culture.

Experience is Everything by Jeannie Walters represents the best book I’ve read for leaders who care about improving their organization’s customer experience. Full of actionable inspiration, it is a must-read not just for CXOs but also for start-up founders, business leaders, and new-generation leaders.

From the first page to the last, Jeannie makes it clear that customer experience is everything! And not just from a check-the-box perspective, but from a tangible, measurable mindset that not just aligns CXO intent with frontline realities, it can change an organization’s soul.

What a great practical guide and explanation of why customer experience should be a key capability in an organization, not just a set of goals to check off a list.

I especially appreciate how Jeannie Walters addresses the various business scenarios, including professional services, so I could see my company reflected in examples.

Experience Is Everything is the book your CX strategy has been missing. It moves CX from concept to action with clarity and focus. I love how practical it is. The CX Mission Statement framework alone is worth the read.
