Ruin (Gig Harbor Royals, Book 2)

Noelle Blake was born under the spotlight—daughter of the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of Thick as Thieves. Perfection isn’t a choice, it’s an expectation. She’s the loyal friend, the steady sister, the golden daughter who never slips, never stumbles, never cracks. Everyone counts on her… and the weight of that crown is suffocating.

Only one man has ever seen beneath her flawless façade. And he’s the one man she can never, ever have.

Gray Vanderlyle has loved Noelle since he was seventeen. He’s carried that secret like a brand, quiet but burning, the kind of devotion that threads through every stolen glance, every midnight text, every time she’s needed him in her darkest hour. He’s been her constant, her safety net, her shadow. But love like his doesn’t stay silent. It grows. It breaks. It demands.

For two years, Gray has lived for the buzz of his phone after midnight, waiting for her name to light his screen. But the truth is louder than the silence they’ve kept between them—and when it finally crashes through, nothing will be the same.

Raw. Emotional. Relentless. Ruin is a love story carved out of fear and fire, where every page bleeds with Gray’s devotion and Noelle’s struggle to believe she’s worth it

Possible Spoilers ahead! And I’m trying very hard not to spoil spoil*

She gave us warnings before the book even started. But even with the warnings/ I wasn’t expecting what happened/what I just read!
Never have I ever been in such a state of panic and anxiety off the bat as soon as I dove into this story. The raw emotions of it all absolutely gutted me, making it an even more beautiful story. I loved the realness of it all. Granted these are fictional characters but the situations, the scenes, the thought process of it all was very real.

Even with your warnings before diving into the book of these are the potential triggers I knew it was going to happen but I didn’t think/realize which characters would be affected.

The emotions of all those involved were raw- and made it more… believable isn’t the word I want to use- genuine maybe(?).
Certain things that occurred in this book was like I was watching a damn movie scene of playing in my head while I was reading.

Love Noelle and Grey. Love their dynamic, love how they love, love how the author wrote their love. It wasn’t just smut with a storyline.

Their sexual relationship wasn’t degrading- it’s just not vanilla and it works for them. I really love how she wrote it out and how even in the beginning before the story played out how no this isn’t meant to be disrespectful(the sex play) it’s very give and take between consenting adults. There’s people out there that don’t know much about the kink world/community and she wrote it- it’s fucking amazing.

The author went into both sides of the spectrum beautifully. Either she knows first hand what she’s writing about or she took the time to learn the dynamics and about consent etc with these characters I think it’s great.

Ruin is the second book in Gig harbor royals series. To get the full story of thise whole world, I recommend reading T.A.T. Series before. These are all stand alone but it's so much better if you know the parents stories before jumping into their children's stories.
Knowing and loving all the TAT men. I knew I'd love their grown kids just as much. But if you think they have the perfect life, think again.
Deep storyline and raw emotions pull you in and dont let go. Im loving this series just as much as the previous.
