Don't know if its just me but it seems Alien and Predator books this year have been better than most of Marvel's top titles, I don't know if that's good or bad but as a horror fan I'm leaning more towards good. Cap and the Howlin' commandos receive a warm welcome bursting into Xenomorph hive and are soon outnumbered until it becomes Skreeee! vs Kree.

It's ok. I felt like it could have been more. The artwork is so-so. The story is so-so; the issue felt like it was a hold-in, like it was marking time for the next issue. Maybe "building up to the next issue" is a better way to put it. In any case, it definitely has some horrific moments in it that I was not expecting when I read it.

I have not followed much of Marvel's line of "Alien" comics, and I was not very impressed with the Aliens vs. Avengers comics, so I was hoping more from this series. I figured with it set during WWII, there might be "more action" or more explosions or something. I was not expecting the military's weapons to be so ineffectual against the aliens; I don't know how much I believe that to be the case.

That "larval" stage or whatever it was burrowing into Frenchie's face was unexpected and messed up! Really gross, hahaha! Maybe something like that happened in the the Dark Horse line of comics; I wasn't too impressed with most of their stories, either, because of how stupid the writers made the humans in those stories. In any case, perhaps these "babies" were modified by Hydra to take on the form they had that allowed them to burrow into Frenchie's face like it did?

One of the better images in the book is the xenomorph in the background behind Cap - that was a great image! Probably one of the best images in this issue. Then you have the image of the soldiers cocooned like they were -very reminiscent of the extended cut of Alien and the scene in Aliens when the Colonial Marines enter the nest and find the cocooned woman.

I was not the least bit surprised that Cap's shield survived the xenomorph's blood. Ah, well!

The entry of the Kree Sentry was pretty cool, too - the way its arm morphed into a gun and it started blasting away.

Hopefully the rest of the series ends strong, but there are only two issues left. We shall see how it goes.

As Cap and Bucky join forces with Sgt. Fury and the Howling Commandos it is becoming very clear that there is something out there that is beyond anything they have faced before on the battlefield. Seeing old characters in new adventures like this is really fun, makes me want to see more of these 'pop culture mashups'. Bloody action!

Good but short.

It read very fast. Wish it was a bit longer. But its just how it is with Alien stories. Its a shame too cause you can pretty much do anything with Captain America or Aliens. You can make up anything really.

Picked up the war propaganda slash face hugger cvr. you know the one. This is still a fun read. The themes are so choice, cant wait for issue 3.
