After reading Charlotte's Web by Jennifer Frantz, it allowed me to see my personal life through Wilbur's story. It has always been hard for me to make friends and oftentimes made me feel like no one wanted to be my friend or accept me for me. Just like Wilbur being a runt and having to leave his original family/friends because he wasn't "worthy" enough to do what the farmer needed with him; I've felt like people have pushed me away because I wasn't "worthy" or good enough for them as well. In the end Wilbur's excitement about finding and having a friend gave me inspiration or hope in a way that I too could find friendship.

Beautiful story about a friendship between a spider and a pig. About how children can listen to and understand the voices, adult can never imagine of. How even after time drifts us apart, good times spent together remains forever.

Connections:
Charlotte’s Web is a animal fantasy. That means that the animals are given human feelings and human speech, which is also called anthropomorphized. Fantasy fiction portrays events that are impossible and Charlotte’s Web does that. For example pigs usually don't talk to the other barn animals such as the sheep, horse, geese, rat, or spiders. Also, I haven't seen a spider that spins words in her webs that are explaining how wonderful a pig is. So, that is another good example of the impossible.

Reaction:
Personally I liked the story. I love how the unexpected animals become friends. Also, I like how this is a short version of the longer story. So, it makes it more easier and kid friendly with the layout of the words and because of how the sentences seem to be structured simpler.

This is an absolutely fabulous way to introduce Charlotte the spider and Wilbur the pig to your toddler-young reader. For those that are too young to sit through the original chapter book Charlotte's Web, this is a perfect way of introducing them to these wonderful charactors and the true meaning of friendship...looking beyond what one looks like and being frineds beyond our differences. My almost 3 year old granddaughter loved this book!

WE had to do fantasys and so i think this would fall under the category because is about animals that can talk and feel like they are actually humans. They are in a barn and can also talk to each other and the spider makes words in her web and they are just animals with great talent but is a cute story cause what kid doesnt like animals and specailly ones that can talk.

I really enjoyed reading this book. This book would be good for the first day of school to help the kids your nervous about the first day. This book teaches children that it is okay to be nervous and that things will work out in the end.

A nice simple re-write of Charlotte's Web. This book is written for beginning readers. Short and to the point.
