He writes and illustrates an advice column called Extremely Bad Advice for the Canadian national newspaper National Post's The Ampersand, their pop culture section's online edition. He is also the creator of Prison Funnies and Monster Cops.

Different than what I was expecting based on the ending of One World Under Doom, but Val is shaping up to be the next great super villain. I wasn’t quite happy with Sue’s portrayal here. She was a mother who just lost her daughter, but she seemed weaker than in North’s run. Trauma shows itself in many different ways.

Llego aquí apenas habiendo leído el arranque del evento y por apremio de saber en qué adelanta esto el próximo arco argumental de Chip Zdarsky. El inicio me daba a temer que fuese apenas un resumen de los eventos finales del dominio global de Muerte, en el que parece que Red Hulk ha tenido mucha relevancia en su derrota junto, cómo no, la Familia Fantástica. El General Ross se mantiene aquí como secundario de lujo, pero es increíble como Zdarsky regala a Valeria Richards (y su tío) una gran y emotiva historia en la línea que se está asentando desde hace unos años con estos personajes. Esto también se extiende a prácticamente toda la Familia Fantástica, quienes a pesar de tener a Victor de Latveria como su gran némesis histórica, han acabado desarrollando a lo largo de los años una relación más estrecha y hasta familiar. Prueba de ello, el que Victor apadrinase a Valeria y que siempre la haya apoyado y educado en ciertos aspectos hasta mejor que Reed Richards, quien quizás se haya implicado más por su primogénito Franklyn (seguramente más por su escala de poderes de escala existencial). En medio, Sue Storm-Richards siempre ha querido entender mejor a Valeria, y el último acto como regente global de Muerte, vuelve a poner a prueba esta relación maternofilial.

Se intuye mucho de lo que puede que Zdarsky desarrolle en futuro inmediato. Pero de momento me quedo con lo más emocional e independiente de la Familia Fantástica.

Will of Doom #1 was SOLID. It’s a really cool epilogue to One World Under Doom handling Valeria Richards being the recipient of basically every single asset in Doom’s estate. It did make me regret not reading the OWUD Red Hulk series (literally the ONLY OWUD series I didn’t pull 😭😭) but even without it, this issue gave enough context that it wasn’t necessary. Cool stuff. Zdarsky is paving the way for the Armageddon event this summer and I am so ready for it. Zdarsky hasn’t written anything I haven’t liked. His Daredevil is some of the best comics I’ve ever read and the Captain America series he started recently kicks so much ass. I can’t wait to see him handle a big crossover event!!!

A fantastic end to One World Under Doom! Chip Zdarsky's writing is great, as always, and Cafu's art is inimitably amazing, as always. i really like where thus event landed, and i cant wait to see where Marvel's first family goes next, and how Hulk's red former archnemesis handles his newfound position of authority. Great issue!

Super solid epilogue! Sounds like the next big event is “Armageddon”, and the build up is starting already! Great action, showing off some of the consequences of Doom’s actions and Red Hulk’s actions. Setting up a new story for the Fantastic Four that I’ll have to keep reading to see. Overall just super well done event that feels important moving forward!

This issue of The Will of Doom was very enjoyable.
Out of all of the tie in issues
of one world under Doom.
The Red Hulk series was the best.
So it is only fitting for the Red Hulk
to have a big role in this issue.

I think i understood a lot of this given I never read One World Under Doom (a read of that series will hopefully be coming soon lmao). Pretty good story, and I liked how they used it as an epilogue and set up more for Valeria and the F4. Dope!
