Michael Flynn returns to his birthplace, the Irish village of Kilfian, to face a childhood tragedy, and to rebuild the burnt-out ruin of his family home. To his horror, he discovers that the ghosts of the past are no mere metaphors, as the restoration unleashes an ancient curse upon his family and the village. To save his daughter's life, and to prevent further bloodshed, Michael is forced to confront his family's dark secrets, and finds them entwined with those of the village and the wood on his land.
