Michael Flynn returns to his birthplace, the Irish village of Kilfian, to face a childhood tragedy, and to rebuild the burnt-out ruin of his family home.
To his horror, he discovers that the ghosts of the past are no mere metaphors, as the restoration unleashes an ancient curse upon his family and the village.
To save his daughter's life, and to prevent further bloodshed, Michael is forced to confront his family's dark secrets, and finds them entwined with those of the village and the wood on his land.

Author of Bad Day in Blackrock (Lilliput Press, 2008; Pocket Books, 2010), filmed as What Richard Did (Element Films, 2012). PhD in American Literature. Lectures in English & Creative Writing in the School of English, Dublin City University. Winner of the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature 2009 and the Hennessy XO Award for Emerging Fiction 2008. Writes regularly for The Sunday Business Post and Literary Review.
