My first mistake was giving her a choice. This time, she doesn't get one.
The Predator
You think you have a choice. You think your cries are enough to stop me. But I don't care about your limits or pathetic attempts at control. You don't get to say no—not to me. No one does.
I crave that delicious moment when you realize your resistance is nothing but a game to me. This is something you can't escape. I will watch you break before me piece by piece until you're begging for what you once feared.
You will understand that “no” was never an option. And when I'm done with you, there will be nothing left for anyone else. This time, you don't get to choose. You will be mine.
The Prey
I hate him. I want to watch him suffer for everything he’s done. The lives he’s destroyed will never be the same. Yet despite everything, I find myself craving his touch. It makes me sick the way my heart betrays me—the way my body betrays me.
He's taken so much from me, yet I’m trapped knowing that if I stop him, I’ll lose him forever.
Either way, I prove what I've feared all along—that I am not a good person.
Ravenous is an enemies to lovers Dark Romance. Please take a look at the content warnings on my website at AmethystWintersRomance before proceeding.
Note this is book 2 of the series. Check out book 1, Insatiable. These are NOT standalones and should be listened to in order.
Hi, I'm Amethyst Winters, lover of stories that will raise my blood pressure and Golden Girls. Seriously, I've watched every episode over a dozen times. I'm probably watching it now.
I write because it brings me peace and comfort. Nothing makes me happier (besides my family, of course. I have to say that.) than bringing a story to life.
Why do I write Dark Romance? I actually love thrillers, and I love love. To me, Dark Romance is the perfect combination of my two loves: thriller and romance. I also write Dark Romance because I believe in broken people finding each other. Also, don't you just love how the MMC is completely devoted to her? How, no matter how corrupt he is, when it comes to her, he becomes soft like a marshmallow?
Favorite shows and book inspirations? You, Dexter, Behind Her Eyes, anything M. Night Shyamalan, From, Wayward Pines, Golden Girls, 227, Amen, The Jeffersons, all those classic 80s sitcoms.
My books can get very dark and triggering to some, but if you can handle any of my favorite shows plus extra spice, you should be okay. Check those trigger warnings on my website anyway.
When you read this book expect the unexpected. And in my opinion the contents are well in line with the book title. All kinds of twists and turns in this one. Plus you'll get some surprises some that even had my jaw dropping like did that really happen. It's dark, gritty and action packed. Excellent read.
I am so so so obsessed with the captive x captor or Stockholm syndrome trope but I must say this may be the darkest one I’ve read yet. Plot was really good, it definitely kept me on my toes and I could not put this down. It was a bit confusing for me at first because we continue with Ayemeline and Aris story at first, and we don’t get much of an introduction to any of the characters except Mica. But then of course it is the second book in a series, although they all technically can be read separately, reading the first book would get rid of some confusion. After the kidnapping we start focusing more on Remy and Auria (sidenote I hate when the mmc is called Remy, it reminds me of ratatouille and I can’t take him seriously). But he was so intense, I was skeptical at first because he did intend to kidnap her sister, not her, but he became obsessed with her and I love that. I don’t usually like when we get smut with her the fmc or mmc with someone else, but it was so fun seeing him get insanely jealous after he made her fuck the other captive. Remy is really messed up, one second he says he hates that she’s a brat and he’s probably going to unalive her, next second he’s in love with her and wants her to choose him despite everything he’s done. I love drunk confessions! He’s a psychopath, he tases her there, ties her up naked and fucks get with random objects, you were warned. But he does get really sweet at the end, I love the whole reformed Villain thing. Auria is such a funny character because she’s so witty and sarcastic but she’s also so naive, it’s weirdly contradicting. The ending kind of came out of nowhere, but it was good but I feel like that last plot twist was unnecessary. Either way the book messed me up so bad, like somewhere along the way I fell for both of them and cried for them. Definitely a 5/5
I received this book as an ARC and here is my honest opinion.
First and foremost, this book is not for the faint of heart. The smut is VERY descriptive and extremely smoldering. If you think 50 Shades and 3 🌶 is spicy then dont read this because the spice is off the charts.
Second, READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS. There are too many to name but dont go into this blind. Read the trigger warnings so you are mentally prepared for this ride.
He wants her and to be quite honest, she has no choice. The tropes you'll find here are: Enemies to Lovers, Forced Captivity, Forced Proximity, Stalking, Love Triangle and more.
This is one heck of a ride. Be ready! This is erotica to the next level.
Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to listen to this book in an ALC version, Amethyst i appreciate the effort and creativity that goes into writing a book. While this story didn't resonate with me, i respect the time you have put into creating it , I am aware that every reader connects differently, and I'm sure that others will enjoy it.
A Glimpse into the Unhinged: An Initial Review of Ravenous
Amethyst Winters's Ravenous: The Unhinged Love Trilogy Book 2 is not a book for the timid. Billed as a dark romance, this installment is a high-octane dive into the chaotic and morally gray abyss where love is forged in the fires of obsession and control. For readers who find comfort in the discomfort of morally ambiguous characters and plots that refuse to stay neatly within the lines, this is a ride worth taking. Disclaimer: As always, please heed the author's content warnings as this is a deeply unhinged journey.
The Anatomy of Obsession
The premise alone is a cocktail of red flags and irresistible narrative tension. The male protagonist, Remy, is introduced with an unapologetic declaration of his predatory nature, a man who doesn’t just desire control—he demands it. His line, "You will understand that 'no' was never an option," is not a promise of soft-hearted devotion but a chilling statement of intent. The female protagonist, Auria, is his unwilling object of desire, trapped in a war of wills where her hatred clashes with an unnerving, self-betraying physical craving for him. The central conflict is a fascinating, if dangerous, dance. There is a chaotic entanglement born from a botched kidnapping. Remy, intending to abduct Auria's sister, becomes fixated on Auria instead. This shift in focus is a critical hinge, suggesting the story is less about a pre-meditated plan and more about the visceral, consuming nature of a man's obsession. The author's skill is in giving this monster a veneer of vulnerability, creating that classic dark romance paradox: hating the villain while desperately wanting him to get his version of a happily ever after.
A Sarcastic Take on Survival
One of the most striking aspects is the dynamic between the main characters. Auria is no meek damsel in distress; she meets Remy’s intensity with her own witty and sarcastic brand of defiance. This is not a story of a woman simply breaking under the weight of her captivity but one of a fiery spirit pushing back, making a game of her own survival. The playful banter in a captor/captive situation suggests that the characters' intellectual and emotional sparring is as central to the plot as the explicit smutting. What truly separates this book from others in the genre is its audacious willingness to lean into the outrageous. The mention of Remy forcing Auria to have sex with another captive just to get "insanely jealous" is not just a plot point; it's a thematic exploration of control and power, of pushing a person to their breaking point to see what they will become. It's a shocking, and for some readers, a thrilling, inversion of traditional romantic tropes. And let’s not forget Gerald the cat, who, in a world of psychological torture and high-stakes drama, is apparently a true icon. This small detail speaks volumes, suggesting that even in the darkest of tales, there's room for a bit of absurd, chaotic levity.
The Final Verdict (For Now)
Ravenous is an unapologetically unhinged read for those who appreciate their romance with a heavy dose of psychological warfare and ethical chaos. It is a testament to the fact that "love" can indeed be a form of madness and that a compelling story can be found even when the characters are, by all accounts, deeply problematic. This is a must-read for fans of dark romance that’s less about fairy tales and more about the beautiful and horrifying reality of human obsession.

So I actually have been waiting to read/listen to ravenous for such a long time even before I knew that I was gonna be coming out on audiobook. I wanted this book so badly it had been on my TBR forever. So when I got the email from blue saying that I would be getting it early I was basically fangirling, kicking screaming everything. I had absolutely an amazing time listening to this audiobook. Once again I love meeting new audiobook narrators with Lacey, Faith and Oscar. I had never listen or heard of them up until reading this book so getting to experience this book with three new audiobook narrators was absolutely amazing. All three of them did such a phenomenal job bringing their characters to life. The story of ravenous follows Remy and Auria, the story has one of my favorite tropes, which is the capture, captive trope obviously Remy is the capture and Auria is the captive and we have also being what I would consider true enemies to lovers you just have to listen/read this book to experience their relationship, it’s a really crazy ride that you just have to experience for yourself. Once again, thank you to all three amazing audiobook narrators, thank you so much to bluenose audio for allowing me to have this early to the author amethyst winners. I can’t wait for the last book in this trilogy. If you are wanting to read this book, I will go ahead and say yes you do need to check your trim warnings where it is a cap captive story. I understand that a lot of times that can be very triggering to people. You also need to understand that this is the second book in a series and it does follow a little bit of the storyline from book one I did not know that going into the books. I was a little bit confused but once I actually got to our main character storyline I hit the ground running!
This is book two in the trilogy — trust me, you’ll absolutely need book one first AND to check all trigger warnings! ⚠️
What is it about this author that has you hating the "bad guy" for 80% of the book...and then suddenly you're rooting for them!
The more we unraveled Remy, our deliciously broody MMC, the more I wanted to hug him tight and bake him cookies. His inner demons? Devastating. His loyalty? Chef’s kiss. Meanwhile, Auria—our fiery, sharp-tongued FMC—is out here sass-battling her own kidnapper like self-preservation is optional.
And Gerald the cat?? A true icon. A legend. The emotional support animal we all needed.
We finally get our HEA for Ari and Ayemeline too (cue happy tears!). I'm already counting down the days for book three — bring on Micah’s story...and yes, I’m here for way more Remy and Auria moments.
Ravenous is dark, spicy, and absolutely entertaining. If you like books that lean heavy on spice and lighter on world-building, this series is for you.
Faith Clark as Ari was a standout for me. Her French accent and bold, mischievous personality came through perfectly in the performance. She brought so much energy and humor to Ari’s character that I found myself laughing at moments I never expected to. Ari’s banter with Remi had me grinning more than I probably should have in a captor/captive situation, but it worked so well for the story.
Oscar Reyes captured Remi’s unhinged edge brilliantly while still giving him moments of vulnerability. Watching Ari push his buttons was honestly one of my favorite parts — her sass and his frustration made for such an addictive dynamic. Lacy Laurel’s narration tied the full cast performance together seamlessly, making this audiobook immersive and fast-paced.
This was a wild ride that kept me hooked, and I’ll definitely be continuing the series to see where it goes next. If you love enemies-to-lovers with dark themes and playful banter, Ravenous delivers.
Okkkkk!!! This book is not for the weak. Read the trigger warnings please! If you know you can’t handle it don’t read it. You’ve been warned.
I received the book as a ARC and this is MY HONEST REVIEW. The author did an amazing job being very descriptive and the nasty smut 🥰 I loved it. I will also say, don’t think you know what’s going to happened because you will be shocked. Overall, I love the book. Please read book one first.
OMG! Mind freaking blown!!!! Book 2 did not disappoint! When I thought I had it figured out...I absolutely did not! The smut was smutting (per usual) and over all this was just a tense read! I'm still not sure how I feel about the "new pair" as of now I hate it lol I cannot wait for Book 3. This series so far has been great!
I love this dark enemies to lovers book. Remy is so intense. He wants control and is willing to break Auria to do it. She wants to hate him but can’t really because she also craves him. The smutty scenes are descriptive and twisted. Check trigger warnings! I loved it. I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.
Enjoyed the audio for this one. Was ready for it after the cliffy from book 1. The story was really good, finished it in one sitting, and didn’t see some of those twists coming. Really enjoyed the character growth. Loved getting more of Auria in this one. The narrators did a great job bringing the story and emotions to life. Can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. Check TWs.
If i thought first book was chaos, this book took a deep dive into dark and left me wanting more! We got to meet Remy and Auria (i listened to the book, so if i'm spelling the names wrong do not come for me) in the first book, and i was so here for their story. You need to read the first book, and I suggest listening, because you need to be listening to all the chaos!
Overall, I loved the book, and can't wait for Micah's story in the last installment!
ALC incoming...and okay, listen. Fck it five because I had to stop what I was doing no less than three times and message into the group chat with a 'you won't believe what I have just read'
If you came here it was to be astounded, and astounded I was. I can't say what this experience would have been like without the audio but I am confident it would not have been the same. Absolutely wild behaviour. I have no idea what has happened and I listened to the first half of this book twice.
This story was good, the spice was spicing and the action was there. It was nice to see every one change a grow throug out the book. I enjoyed this one much more than book one. It was more fun. He definitely grew a lot through out this book and with the help of an amazing French brat haha!!!
Amazing ARC read! Unhinged/ Diabolical MMC that falls in love with the sister of his current obsession . Auria and Remy are both delusional and I loved it! Check trigger warnings
I ate this up SO FAST!! The spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ is hot!! The romance is sweet, and the plot is gripping!! This dark romance does not disappoint and I CANNOT WAIT for the next release!!!!
Ravenous by Amethyst Winters is a dark obsessive forced captivity enemies to lovers romance. This read/listen will keep you on your toes from start to finish! There were so many twists and turns to the plot that were a constant surprise. The spice is definitely attention grabbing and very detailed. This story was definitely a ride I wasn’t prepared for! Thank you Blue Nose Audio for this ALC!
This is not your average baby dark romance, when I say this is dark…I mean DARK. So many twists and turns, expect the unexpected and the darkest of dark. If you have triggers, PLEASE CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS. The book is very graphic.
I honestly have no words for this book, I’m kind of speechless lol. Do I recommend it though? Yes, but only to my seasoned Dark Romance readers. I fear anybody else will be running to the hills.
Ariya is hilarious and my favorite character in the book!! She had me cackling and the narrator for her character was spot on.
Tropes:
- Captive x Captor - Stockholm Syndrome - Enemies to Lovers - Morally Gray Characters - Love Triangle
The first book I wast to sure about at first, then it dragged me in. Then this book, oh god have mercy! The way it draws you in! The plot just kept thickening! Absolutely loved it!
Oh my gosh book 2 is where it’s at! I struggled a little in the first book to understand the FMC but the plot had so many twists in this book and really pulled me in. I guessed a few parts correct but not the end. The spice is spicy and please check the triggers before reading. Can’t wait for the third book!
DROP EVERYTHING and read this and the first book NOW! Ravenous is an exciting, unhinged dark romance that totally lives up to book one in the series. You will fall for the bad boy, narcissist, Remy, as he works towards his vengeance. He not only learns and grows but also sees his past more clearly. Our snarky FMC, Auria, is so much fun, and you can't help but adore her and her ways. You also get a resolution for other book one characters. Everyone is morally gray in this series. The spice is HOT, the banter is clever and sexy, and the characters have all sorts of baggage. The trigger list is long. If spicy or salty language easily offends, it will have you clutching your pearls. But Amethyst Winters had me at Trigger Warnings.
Remy can disrespectfully go to hell lol. He got on my last nerves in both good and bad ways. Auria is my absolute favorite person though, She is hilarious and it is impossible not to love her. Ravenous focuses on their story and they are quite a handful for each other. Everyone and I do mean everyone in this book has some level of insanity and I absolutely loved it. I also love an FMC who is not afraid to get her own hands in and play the game that needs to be played. She might have played with her own feelings in the process. This is a good dark romance that will have you laughing, concerned but completely hooked on it within the first couple chapters.
This is the second book in the Unhinged Love Trilogy, featuring Auria and Remy's story. Remy accidentally kidnaps Auria, thinking she is her sister Ameyline. He also kidnaps Micah as well. This goes parallel to Ameyline and Ari's story of finding each other and healing each other in their own twisted way.
I naturally read this because, I loved the first book. However, this one I was averse to. I do like a good forced proximity and enemies to lovers troupe, but this may have been too dark in that area. I did not like Remy from the first book. I don't know if I feel like he deserved Auria. He is selfish, entitled, and can not handle rejection. Raping women, because he got told no... and the things he did to Auria, can not be redeemed. I do love Auria as a character, I love her feistiness, culture, and overall vibe. She did suffer Stockholm syndrome with Remy, but hey, to each their own! I felt so bad for Micah though. I can't wait to see him get what he deserves in the next book.
Troupes Include: Enemies to Lovers Forced Captivity Forced Proximity Stalking Love Triangle Trauma Dark Romance Spicy
This book was definitely not the one that I hoped for but it did exceed my expectations. I was warned and I'm a no trigger warning girlie so it was fine. I received an ALC of this and it was definitely worth listening to. I've fallen asleep while listening to the audiobook two times in a row because I wanted to finish it in one night yet I couldn't so I had to put them on repeat and it gets better each time.
I like how gritty and dark this story started, there were definitely very unhinged things happened in here but what I like the most is that the FMC and MMC had a really good character development especially Remy (not sure if I spelled that right lol) but I loved them both. Although, the storyline could be confusing at first but it shifted to something good. I just wish that the narrators could've done it better especially when I hear the female characters speak. But aside from that, it was worth it and I really liked it.
Be prepared for the long list of trigger warnings, you've been warned but it was a good book with unexpected twists and turns. 🖤🖤🖤
This book is pure chaos—dark, unhinged, and completely unapologetic about it. It leans hard into that obsessive, morally gray (honestly… pitch black) dynamic where love and destruction blur together.
I did *not* want to like him—and neither did she—but that’s kind of the point. He’s the product of a brutal past, shaped by violence and psychological damage, while she’s his complete opposite—the kind of person who still believes there’s good in everyone, even when she really shouldn’t. That contrast is what makes the story so addictive.
Their relationship is toxic, intense, and honestly a little disturbing at times, but there’s something compelling about the way she grounds him, even when everything around them feels like it’s spiraling.
This isn’t a soft dark romance—it’s heavy, messy, and pushes boundaries. If you’re here for morally gray characters, obsession, and absolute chaos, you’ll eat this up. If you need healthy relationships… this is not that book.
First of all, I loved the first book, Insatiable, so I went into this one with high expectations. Unfortunately, this story hit me very differently.
I didn’t like the MMC, Remy. At all. He is too dark, too much of a villain, just a bad person. He is an egocentric predator and a rapist and what he did cannot be redeemed. Dark romance often explores morally grey characters, but in this case there was nothing for me to hold on to or understand.
The FMC, Auria, is funny, strong-minded, and different in a good way. She had the biggest case of Stockholm syndrome, which made the dynamic between the characters hard to accept.
Ravenous is a super dark romance, and this time it was simply too dark for me. Some readers who enjoy extremely dark stories might appreciate it, but it didn’t work for me the way the first book did.
