This is a surprisingly poor story from Simone. I hope from being forced to do tie-ins for a pretty bad crossover event.

Ostensibly one of the better titles in this event, but we still don't have a good explanation for anything that happened with Rogue. We don't know precisely what event led to Rogue duplicating into two permanently separated identical versions of herself. When Rogue absorbed Galactus' power, the closest we come to an explanation is that she "glitched," and that's why she was immobile stone for three years. Then, in the climax of this issue, I don't understand how exactly Deathdream was able to awaken that Rogue. Supposedly his powers are all about death, and he made a reference to raising the dead. But, they also made a big deal about saying that Rogue heard Gambit speaking to her every night while she was stone. So... she wasn't dead? So, then how did Deathdream have any authority over her?

And after this issue, I am even MORE baffled about what the Hell Calico's powers are. She somehow generates a ghost horse, or even multiple ghost horses, and they are physically strong and capable of channeling her other powers. She generates flame a lot, often shaping flame into --solid?-- objects like armor and swords. And in this issue, she somehow projected auras that regulated oxygen and air pressure...?
