Repeat after me: I swear my soul to Sigma; the spilling of Sigma’s secrets is punishable by death; a death which I will gladly accept should I prove disloyal.
How much would you sacrifice in the name of family? What sins would you commit for the promise of wealth and power?
Kieren Hunt made a deal. Resurrect his fraternity’s secret traditions, and the most powerful Sigma alumnus will save his family from ruin. As the incoming chapter president, it was an easy deal to make because Kieren Hunt knows he is ruthless. He was always meant to play God, and once he wins back his prized obsession, Monroe Campbell, they’ll be none the wiser.
But the thing about secrets is, just like blood, they tend to get spilled.
Kieren’s deal has a problem, and her name is Monroe. He never thought Sigma would come for her, nor did he ever think his perfect pet would try to run. Sigma can have his soul, but Monroe? She was never part of the deal, and if he must cage his trophy to keep her, so be it.
Monroe would be his until the bitter end, if only she didn’t escape.
She’s coming for you Kieren, because this puppy bites back.
Caged is a dark secret society revenge romance. Please check the content warnings before diving into the nefarious and sinful world of the Sigma. Other than the prequel novella, the Sins of the Sigma series is meant to be read in order.
Summer Robert is a recovering corporate girlie turned weaver of angsty, dark romance stories that are as suspenseful as they are salacious. She’s known for writing twisted and often emotionally devastating love stories with unhinged spice and gut-wrenching cliffhangers. Summer loves a good Easter egg written between the pages as much as she loves surviving off of caffeine and vibes. A fun fact about Summer is that she is a hoarder and self-proclaimed connoisseur of perfume and spends more time than she should debating what perfume her unapologetically strong FMCs wear (because your girl loves an innuendo). Most importantly, she's a mom of two small humans and one small, vicious, and spiteful yorkipoo. Summer currently resides in Los Angeles, and although she is originally a native Ohioan from a shockingly small farm town, she will forever call LA her home.
I was given the chance to be an ARC reader for this by Hawthorne & Aster Services in exchange for an honest review.
Let me tell you... this is hands down 5 stars. This has so much in it, and I couldn't put the book down. I was instantly hooked.
The MMC isn't just morally gray... Kieren is straight up an unhinged pitch black narcissist. The inner workings of his mind are both fascinating and terrifying. Watching him unravel into madness but try to cling but fail at doing so to some sort of humanity was intense. He didn't just fall into the role his secret society demanded of him...he leaped with both feet forward.
There are two FMCs but let's talk about Monroe. You do have to watch her fall into the trap of a cycle of abuse and gaslighting and desperate need to feel love from Kieren. You'll want to grab her by the shoulders to shake her to wake up and tell her this isn't love. But you have to understand hers is a trauma response to the lack of the basic fundamentals of love from her childhood. She does redeem herself when she finally snaps and opens her eyes to the truths around her. I was on edge...rooting for her, begging her to make it. To fight back. To get herself back. I can't tell if her way in the end was a spiral into madness and loss of her own humanity in the name of revenge or if she finally became what she was destined to be. I know I can't wait to see.
Then you have her best friend Gabi, who never wanted to stop trying to help Monroe. Who didn't let those whispers of her subconscious go unheard. Who put herself on the line to infiltrate Sigma and who wasn't backing down.
There's nothing I love more than strong FMCs with amazing revenge and redemption ARCs.
This book ends on a cliffhanger but gives hints of a possible focus on Gabi and her ex Jace, who is also tied up in the insanity of Kieren and Sigmas secret society. The epilogue hints that there's so much more to Monroe and her plan for revenge.
I can't wait to read the next book to find out. I need Summer Robers to write faster!

10/5 READ ARC REVIEW This is not a book for the faint of heart.
This book hit home. It is an offering I place at my altar with bloodied, shaking hands.
The Church is silent in prayer, in grief, in bearing witness.
This is for the women haunted. By old lovers. By the coldness of childhood. By trauma that seeps into the bones and never fully leaves.
Summer Robert captures the chaos of a toxic relationship between a heroine with borderline personality disorder and a man laced with narcissism and I felt myself pulled into their gravity.
The gaslighting. The obsession. The push. The pull. The pain dressed as love. Emotions wielded as a weapon.
But pain always carves a path. And even the darkest stories get their resurrection.
Monroe doesn’t return to who she was.
She rises. Like a phoenix from ash.
This isn’t healing in softness. This is becoming the monster you need to survive your own.
This is the descent that does not break you It sharpens you.
It seals your edge like a knife. It hardens you with the snap of a bear trap.
I was immediately engaged with the characters in this book. If you like morally black, but totally lovable men this book is for you. Kieran is a guy you’ll love to hate and you always wanna see what he’ll do next. Monroe took me a while to fall in love with she seemed like she was weak at first. She definitely redeemed herself. I can’t wait for book 2 to see where they’ll go from here.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ Well, to be honest it had me hooked from the first page. Even though I was a bit confused in the beginning I really loved it and couldn’t stop reading it. I just needed to know what happened next. I cannot wait for book 2
Would I recommend it? Definitely
So yeah, if you like a Dark Revenge Romance then go for CAGED, Sins of the Sigma series book 1. Also please read the trigger warnings of this book before reading ☺️
I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but I was definitely blown away. The atmospheric writing is immersive and very well done, and the emotions and chemistry between the characters kept me turning pages. I can't wait to see what book 2 brings!
