In the grim darkness of space, fear spreads like a virus.

When the silver mines of M-1819 suffer a catastrophic breach, Roger Hawthorn is the Compliance Officer sent to lift the orbital station’s subsequent lockdown. The company’s reclusive founder, Petar Novikov, insists that everything is under control – that by signing a few harmless documents, Roger can be on a shuttle headed back to his pregnant wife as early as tomorrow.

But an alien pathogen continues to spill from the damaged dig site. And it doesn’t just make its victims sick – it transforms them into sinister shadow-selves plagued with an insatiable hunger. Nobody’s leaving the Desmodontae while the facility’s quarantine is in effect.

Desperate to return home before his daughter is born, Roger allies with research scientist Dr. Vanessa Tsing in a race to contain the virus. But the longer he stays trapped on the isolated Desmodontae, the more erratic and unsettling Novikov’s behaviour becomes – and that’s before crew members show up dead with their bodies drained of blood.

A predator older than the stars is on the hunt.

But to escape might put the whole galaxy at risk...

Sink your teeth into BLOOD MOON – a standalone novel inspired by Dracula and the wider vampire mythos that’ll have you turning the pages long into the night.

This was fantastic! an utterly unputdownable sci-fi horror. Brilliant story, with an original idea. Some nasty creatures. An edge of the seat read if ever there was one.

DSP... I doubt even Ripley would dare and Kirk most certainly wouldn't frontier this...

Yet another brilliant space opera read! I look forward to the next one in this chapter.

Space opera? Probably closer to space horror. I almost hyperventilate at the feel of claustrophobia in wearing a mask, let alone the knowledge of no oxygenated air outside of the controlled areas of space life.

The only things that slightly bugged me were the spelling of fetid instead of foetid and the rogue use of ass instead of arse a couple of times. All other spellings were British English and were good.

This author rocks space so well .. I have enjoyed his other sagas immensely and this tale proves no different.

Not for the squeamish! Lots of blood and violence. Very much a vampire inspired science fiction horror story. Something isn't right and Roger finds out just how wrong things can go when he heads to the space station Desmodontae. As the compliance officer, Roger is supposed to sign off on the safety of operations and have the lockdown lifted. Except then he finds out it's not just a safety issue, there's a virus... and things go from bad to worse.

Oh, there is so much to say but I don't want to give anything away so I can't talk about that bit... Nice bit of scary monster in space storytelling - great ending - set in a universe I feel like I know really well. If you enjoy any of TWM Ashford's space books (and there are a lot!) then you'll enjoy this one too.
