Twice Bitten

Rate this book
Between the blood condition shortening his lifespan and his vampire hating, bible-thumping mother, Luis is not exactly a prime candidate for friendly vampire relations. But though anxiety rules most of Luis’s life, the last thing he wants is to be afraid to leave his house.

So, he applies to be the designated driver to a vampire couple for their nights out.

It turns out that Julien and Karim are nothing like the dangerous, Devil-worshipping demons that Luis's mother swears will take advantage of him. They’re intelligent and funny, each kind in their own way, and Luis has started to count them as real friends. Knowing them has started to make Luis feel brave for the first time in his life.

Brave enough to wonder—if Luis can make friends with vampires… what else could he do?

Twice Bitten is a slow-burn MMM vampire romance book that will have you ACHING for more!

I believe this is Archer Beau’s debut novel! When I saw it advertised, and saw the tropes, I knew I had to read it! In this book you’ll find:

-established vampire couple x their driver/friend
-blood drinking (VERY SEXY) and bite-drunk fun
-hurt/comfort (religious trauma/abuse)
-blood drinking as “healthcare” (what a silly but fun plot device!)
-edging (literally and figuratively, because the slow-burn is SLOW)
-some light BDSM
-diverse characters

The real ones will get me when I say this— but do you ever read an author’s work and just think: Oh, I know they’ve been reading fanfiction since they were 12 and probably wrote some banger fanfiction, too? That’s exactly how I feel about this author. The book almost feels like a long fanfiction in terms of the pacing and vibe, but I 100% mean that as a compliment. Archer Beau knew how to play up some GOOD vampire tropes. 🙌

I can’t help but mention the characters as well. They were soooo lovable and multi-faceted. Our main character, Luis, struggles with religious trauma and low self-esteem, but it’s presented in a way that is more complex. He’s relatable, and you can definitely see what Julien and Karim see in him. As for Karim and Julien, these two had such a comfortable dynamic, but also great individual personalities. I loved how they were always raging green flags in their own ways, but the more intimate parts of their personalities slowly showed more as the story progressed. I 100% would trade places with Luis in a heartbeat.

This book was so good that I had to finish it in one day, even though I definitely should be sleeping 😂 It’s one of those books where you’ll be screaming internally at the characters, and wanting a certain outcome.

The pacing of this book is crazy, and after reading it to the end, I kind of feel like the weird pacing almost makes it better. At the beginning, you’re dropped right into the middle of the 3 characters’ initial dynamic, and how it progresses little by little makes you pine for something to happen. The first 70% feels like it’s such a slow burn, but the anticipation makes it so you have to keep reading. Julien absolutely loves the anticipation, and admits it himself! He makes his love of edging very known by the end of the book 😈 I also felt like the author metaphorically edges the readers 😂😂 it’s honestly fitting for their relationship.

My only complaint is that I wish the end was actually tied up a little better. There were some loose threads that I definitely wanted answers for, since I found myself more invested. This is one of those rare romance books that I legitimately want a book 2 for, and think a sequel would be so fire.

Definitely pick this up on October 17th!

I'm sorry, but no. This wasn't good for me. I don't how how I managed to finish it, to be honest. I was bored and I didn't care about any of the characters. The writing and the way the characters act at times feels way too YA, which is super uncomfortable when you're reading a spicy book. While there was a clear attempt at emotional moments, I didn't feel a thing. This just wasn't for me, I'm sorry.

Also, if you're going to add a kinky dynamic to a romance book, fine. BUT. If an existing couple is bringing in a much less experienced third - ESPECIALLY if the existing couple is a pair of vampires and the third is human - PLEASE make them have a conversation about it before they do anything. Don't force in the conversation after they already pulled him into it. This was highly unsettling for me. Informed consent is a thing. Please and thank you.

I loved Karim! I mean, all three of the main characters, plus Luis’ bestie Cassie, were great characters, but Karim was definitely my favourite. I think I connected with his impatience 😂 This story was about an established couple who hire Luis to drive them to and from a club each week. They end up bringing him into their relationship.

When they say slow burn, they mean it with this story, but the teasing pace of the story seems like it’s just an extension of Julien’s personality.

I think it was a very believable world set up. There’s a little angst in the form of a psycho-religious mother and her equally crazy cult. But Karim and Julien make Luis feel so wanted and safe, and Luis isn’t altogether helpless, no matter how much he thinks he is, so the drama is over pretty quickly. It was nice to read as Luis became more comfortable with himself and with voicing his feelings. He was supposed to be in his 30s but at times he felt more like a younger person.

My only niggle here (and I say this with a lot of slow burns) is that when they finally get together, the book is over. I think it’s a hard balance to do such a drawn-out story but still give a good amount of time showing them as a couple, and it’s not even about smut. I want to see how they develop. Will his mother go to jail? Will he go through the change? We did get hints, but I was left wanting more; the last paragraph ended quite abruptly and I didn’t feel like I got enough closure.

However, I really enjoyed the characters, the world set up, and their relationship dynamics. I couldn’t put it down to be fair and I would definitely welcome a second book or a novella to tie it all up.

When I tell you this is a slow burn I mean sloooowwww burn. It was very well written. I guess I would have liked the other povs at least once to get a feel for them but it wasn’t necessary. All 3 MMCs were different and worked really well together. Alot of background nuisances but the relationship was sweet. It was interesting how the BDSM dom/sub aspect came into play.

Twice Bitten is the debut book by new author Archer Beau. This is an MMM story so if you're not into poly, this might not be a book for you. It is the story of Luis a human with a blood disorder and the vampire established couple of Karim and Julien. This was a slow burn romance and I do mean slow burn. I really enjoyed the story and loved the characters. The writing style was good but a little different but it fit well with the story. I only have two things I wish were handled differently but that's me. I wish the story was wrapped up a bit better because there were still some things I wanted to know. I also wish there was more of a conversation about consent. I still really enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend it.

Can you both LOVE and dislike a book at the same time? Is that even a thing, or am I crazy? Because... this book gives me the worst case of mixed feelings in existence.

On the one hand, I absolutely loved it. Karim, Julien, and Luis are absolutely AMAZING. I LOVE them separately and together. They are the perfect pair, the perfect match. Their personalities mash so well together. It's like their souls were split into 3 pieces, and when they finally found each other, it all fell into place, and they were whole. Karim and Julien lived a long, long, long life and they've been together for more than Luis has been alive, I never had a feeling something was missing between the two of them, but then Luis came in and everything made much more sense. It was like he was the missing piece they did not know they needed. Luis, on the other hand, needed the pair to finally let go of the old habits and let himself become his true self. I don't think he would've accomplished that without Karim and Julien in his life.

Their story is beautiful. The way they build their relationship is how every relationship should be built... with trust, respect, care, and attention. Their relationship was so... intentional. It was everything.

But here is the catch... he's is where things get murky for me.

While I loved the way they built their relationship, I also had moments when I disliked it with a passion. I get that this book is an SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW BURN, but damn, it was the slowest burn in the history of slow burn. At some point, I just felt like my skin was itching. I couldn't stand it anymore. These characters are adults. Luis is in his 30s, and Karim and Julien are 100yo. They're vampire, so... yeah. With that being said, this book felt like a YA for half the time and then a shadow of NA until 95% when we went into adult territory. For a trouple, these 3 sure felt like they were teenagers most of the time. While I get why Julien wanted to take things slow, I had moments when I wanted to throw my Kindle out the window. Karim was more rushed, and Luis was just... a dormant. I wanted to shake him up and tell him to get his head out of his ass. Seriously. I get why he acted that way, I really do, and it wasn't the lack of spice necessarily that made me feel this way. I don't need lots of smut, I loved the intimacy of their interactions, but the edging was starting to piss me off, and I feel like just one s3x scene was anticlimactic. Not to mention that I would've loved for that scene to end with both Karim and Julien biting him at the same time, at least... it would've made more sense to me, given the title of the book.

As I said, it wasn't necessarily the missing s3x that was the problem, they had plenty of intimate moments, for half the book was the bitting which was intimate in itself, and then all the kissing added an extra layer to it. It was truly beautiful, but the lack of sex just made the slow burn go on and on for so long that it became somewhat boring and when it happened it didn't feel like much, it kind of lost it's appeal, at least in my eyes. As I said, it felt anticlimactic. It was nice, don't get me wrong, but this book is long. It's not a book that has 200 pages, and we didn't get to wait too long. It has 403 pages... that's a lot of time to be edged, for real.

As I said, and I feel the need to say this again for some reason, it wasn't the lack of sex that bothered me, it was that the slow burn was never ending, I wasn't aware that it'll be a YA to NA kind of read and the title is a bit misleading when you think that it'll mean something when in reality it was just the fact that both Karim and Julien bit him throughout the book and that's it. I think if we would've had a book 2 for these same three characters I would've been ok with the pace of the book, but since it is a standalone the pace really felt dragged sometimes and it didn't flow so well for me.

I think what also didn't help the case was that for how much Julien liked to talk things to death, we didn't get to see much of that, given that the book is single POV. I think it would've been easier to bear if we had had POV's from Karim and Julien's as well. We were always in Luis POV and his personality didn't help either with the story progressing so slow. His anxiety and self doubt became a bit hard to read about at times and the lack of knowledge when it came to what Julien and Karim were doing half of the time was annoying since Luis didn't talk to them that much when they were not together. It felt like half the story was missing constantly.

This story IS beautiful, I do recommend it, I really do, but I just wanted through my review to make people aware than this is a slow burn that reads like a YA and then like a NA instead of going into it with some expectations and be disappointed, because the book is beautiful and it deserves love.

I do not regret reading it, I just regret going into it with the false expectations based on the blurb. The blurb talks about Luis being brave, but with that bravery came so much anxiety that sometimes you couldn't understand what was going on, and, as mentioned, the fact that we are only in Luis POV and we didn't know what else was happening it felt like we were always chasing something and missing it every single time.

Overall, it is a 3.75✨️ for me. It could've been more, but I felt like the author wanted something specific for the story that wasn't my exact cup of tea. It might be yours, tho so... don't get discouraged. Give this story a try since you will have a chance to meet Luis and his two perfectly amazing vampires, Julien and Karim.

Twice Bitten is a MMM paranormal romance centered around a young man with a rare blood disorder that requires frequent phlebotomy and a married vampire couple that he chauffeurs for. I thought this was a solid debut novel! I enjoy Archer’s writing style, and I enjoyed the world that they created.

One of my favorite details is the unique relationship that Luis has with each of the two vampires: Luis and Julien bond over similar tastes in classic movies and their easy friendly conversations, but Luis and Karim bond over their competitiveness and verbal sparring. It’s clear from the beginning that Luis has developed different but solid friendships with both the vampires.

The central conflict lies with Luis and his mother (plus her scary religious beliefs). I think my only real issue with the book is the pacing and development around this conflict. It kind of felt like the book reached its climax too early with some big scary stuff about halfway through, and then the last third of the book just felt like falling action and resolution with mostly a focus on the relationship (which has not really existed until then). I almost wish that we got to see the romantic relationship start developing more in the open before the conflict happened. But, in the end, I’m not too fussed over this.

Overall, I did enjoy this book! The romance was sweet and steamy, the conflict was tense, and the resolution left me satisfied. I think it would be a great halloween read for anyone that enjoys some angst with their romance.

I received a voluntary ARC for free in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars, rounded up for goodreads.
Twice Bitten was an incredibly fun read, & i thinkni can confidently say now that im finished, that Karim has got to be my favorite character out of the main throuple. I know Luis is the main character, but Karim was built in a lab for me. Hes a kind hearted but still an asshole, a total brat, & flirts through insults. Thats what i like!

I had an incredible time reading this book, at least for about 80% of it. I find this book falls into the common pitfall of slow burns where once the couple gets together, the book is done. Personally i wish it was a little more concurrent with the plotline between Luis & his mom, so that the main conflict continued through more of the story. It ends kind of ubruptly & the rest of the book is the relationship. Which might be some peoples fan y, but i wouldve liked more action & conflict throughout.

The characters were great, like i said, Karim was definitely my favorite. I wouldve loved more Cassie but I had a lot of fun with her character as well with just what we had. Shes such a good friend.

If youre looking for something with heavy spice, this book is a SLOW BURN & there isnt any sex until towards the end, & it will take a while to get there. The scenes that they have include edging & light BDSM with a D/s dynamic.

Ultimately, it was a fun read with a few flaws. Would recommend to others if it seems like the right recommendation

I was conflicted over what to rate TWICE BITTEN because there were parts that I really liked but then other parts were just really boring. I loved the setup with Luis acting as a driver and companion to a married vampire couple and the way Luis grew in confidence as the book went on. Julien and Karim were also fun characters but I wish we could have gotten their POVs as well so we could understand their motivations more. The vampire elements were done really well and the blood drinking scenes were so sensual in a way I don't usually see in vampire romances.

The big reason this fell short for me were the very slow middle portion that dragged on with day-to-day minutiae that just got boring and the epically slow romance. Now don't get me wrong, I love a good slow burn but I need it to make sense and I need the tension to be good, it should be a *burn* after all. Almost nothing happens between Luis, Julien, and Karim until basically 90% and then it was non-stop lust so that felt very unbalanced in the overall story line. Additionally, Luis spent the majority of the book thinking Julien and Karim weren't interested in him when they actually were and Julien was just insisting they go slow. I wish intentions had been cleared up sooner and that Julien would have just communicated more on what they wanted, especially for a poly relationship.

While I got frustrated with the slower pace I think there was still something really good here and that lots of readers would enjoy this one.

Review for Twice Bitten by Archer Beau

Oh, this book was yummy. I love MMM, and then add in a vampire. Hmm, I was dancing in my seat. Luis has a hard time in life thanks to his very religious Mother, besides having to live with a blood condition that is causing his life to be shorter than it really should be. So to say his life sucks at times is very true. Luis struggles with being scared, which in turn causes really high anxiety that can take hold of him and his life. Trying to live his life instead of his life ruling him, Luis signs up to be a driver for a vampire couple to get himself out of his home. Julien & Karim change how he views life, people. They keep him wanting more of them. What they have to say makes him feel alive instead of fearing everything. As time goes on, they, in Luis's eyes, see them as friends. As time goes on, Luis starts to feel safer out of his home, smiling and feeling free when he is around this couple. If they can help him feel this way, maybe there can be more.

I love a good MMM romance, but then this author put in vampires, which is a trope I can't get enough of. I have read vampire books since I was like 10 or 12. I love the paranormal world so much. This type of story I escape into, feeling like I'm living it instead of just reading it. This is a new author for me, so I have to find what else is out there by them or coming out.

This book was absolutely beautiful. It’s the first time in a long time that I’ve stayed up until sunrise because I just couldn’t put a book down—everything about this was SO good.

The world building? Scrumptious and very reflective of marginalized peoples’ experiences: vampires are the assimilated “other,” society has made room for their integration and systematized resources for them, anti-vampire terrorist groups advocate for their erasure, etc.

The concept of vampirism? In ways very similar to traditional representation, BUT throwing in vampirism as healthcare was so innovative! It was the literal heartbeat of this story and the author treated it with such care. It added a really unique spin to the relationship between the main characters, painting a beautiful portrait of communal care and disability-positive intimacy.

And the spice?! Dear god, the burn was so slow that I felt edged right alongside the main character! The build up was worth it, the spicy scenes made me drool, and the romance was swoon-worthy.

There’s so much more I loved that I could talk about (Luis’s relationship with his mother, the heartbreaking depiction of conversion therapy, etc) but I don’t have enough space lol!

The story itself, the characters, the care taken with sensitive topics, and the world building were really well done. I wholeheartedly recommend you pick up this book!

Twice Bitten is the debut book by Archer Beau. I liked so much about this book:
Poly ✅
Vampires ✅✅
An original story with some great worldbuilding ✅
Best friend Cassie ✅
Human Luis pines over the relationship he could have with his vampire employers, Julien and Karim. If he only he were brave enough. Julien and Karim are an established couple, and they s-l-o-o-o-w-l-y draw him into their dynamic. This isn't slow burn and edging. It's pure torture. ☹️ For the reader and for Luis himself. By the time they sealed the deal, I was so over it. Other major dislike:
Luis' mother: total stereotype. If you want a homophobic parent, let them be a vile, hate spewing Christian ☹️☹️. The stereotypical action with a religious cult (ohhhh, clutching my pearls) added a bit of danger. But stereotype, stereotype. It was a bit of a letdown and the author playing it safe.
Not playing safe was blood biting as healthcare. Quite unique, a little quirky.
Luis' blood condition and his awful mother makes for an agoraphobic and depressed character. Which also slows the book down. I persevered, and was rewarded. Mostly. There are enough dangling plotlines for a sequel.
I liked this story. Mostly. Do I want to read more? Hmmmmnnn.

MMM
Single POV
Third Person
Urban fantasy
Religious trauma
Amazing best friend
Mental health rep
BDSM (lite)
Care taking
Slow burn

Rating: 3/5 - I enjoyed this book but it isn't one I will reread
🌶️: 3/5 - a handful of explicit intimate scenes with a lot of fully clothed but aroused scenes
🎃: 1/5 - they're vampires, no fall vibes, no Halloween things

TLDR: I enjoyed this book but I was left wanting more in the not good way.

I enjoyed this book. I will definitely read more by this author. The care taking was top notch. Definitely a candidate for perfect book boyfriends. I loved the supportive best friend. She was top tier. The relationship dynamics were super cute. One of my favorite things about a poly romance is how they all fit together and the different dynamics they have with each other. I do wish this hadn't been a slow burn. I wanted more of them together. It felt like we only got a little slice of that after the main conflict of the book. It was also not as kinky as I'd expected. There is some mention of a bit more play but it never happens on page.

Ultimately, I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves care taking and can handle some serious religious trauma.

Thank you to the author and Gay Romance Reviews for the advanced review copy of this book. My opinions are my own.

A Joyfully Jay review.

4.5 stars

The summary only scratches the surface of this very long, slow burn book. The world building here is great, with a different twist on vampires that I haven’t really seen before, and three engaging, interesting characters. Despite its length, which I’ll get to in a minute, I was sucked into this story and the layers the author put in. I will also make note here that it’s important to heed the author’s content warnings, which can be found in the beginning of the book.

This book would have been a five-star from me if it weren’t for my issues with the pacing. This book is very long and an incredibly slow burn. It took more than half the book for the romance side of things to pick up and, when it did, I almost thought it moved too fast. And I don’t just mean the physical side of things, though that doesn’t happen until basically the end. Instead, the first portion of the story is a lot of the same thoughts and feelings from Luis as he works to figure out exactly where he stands with the couple, and the vampires, mostly Julien, keeping their own motivations a secret.

My reviews are my own. If you liked this book, I’m glad you enjoyed it. If not, I respect your opinion.  This is merely my opinion, so let's keep it courteous. My review is honest and voluntary.

This story was so badly developed. Great idea, poor execution. First, Luis has time for porn but not to take care of his terminal issues? Second, why does it have to be kept as a secret? Third, why does he still talk to his mother? I would have kicked her to the curb a long time ago. Fourth, why is he not carrying stuff for a medical emergency? When you suffer from something so critical, you ALWAYS carry emergency stuff. I can keep counting the ridiculousness with the book, but I got tired, so here are some other issues I had: The whole abduction thing is ridiculous. Luis had mental issues, and there is no actual help; mental issues are no joke. These are OLD vampires, but they act sometimes like kids.  We have 90% of nothing on the sex, and then the other 10% is only sex, which I skipped because at this point I was not interested in any of them, not a well-balanced book. There are a lot of loose ends. We learn NOTHING about the MCs. The whole relationship is based on emptiness. The only star is because of Cassie; she was the only good thing in the book.

On to my next adventure, Happy Readings!!!

I seriously could not put this book down. It was just that good.
HOWEVER, this was truly a case of loving and hating a book at the same damn time.
Why, you ask. That's easy.
It was one long ass edging session. If you can't tell, edging is truly not my thing.

Don't get me wrong. I'm all for a bit of angst, but FFS, this was waaaaay beyond that. It was like we would get so close to the precipice of some next level vampire🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️happenings and then miki fikies would just drop the ball and go contemplate life or something.

All I know is Luis was about to get on my last GD nerve🤬🤬🤬with his slow as molasses antics. Thank heaven for Karim and Julien being interesting enough to keep me turning the pages, while I was a-hoping and a-wishing that Archer Beau would deliver all of the MMM fabulousness I was waiting for.

Ultimately, Twice Bitten delivered on my expectations AND I've been on a reading slump ever since. lol Hopefully, the book gods won't allow this slump to last as long as it took Karim and Luis to do what needed to be done.🤣🙏🤷‍♀️🙃

This was a charming and emotionally engaging story, centred on Luis, a chronically anxious man navigating a lifetime of fear and religious guilt and the unexpected friendship (and more) he forms with vampire couple Julien and Karim.

The relationship dynamic was genuinely refreshing. I especially loved Karim, his bluntness and quiet intensity stood out, and the chemistry between all three leads developed slowly but believably. Luis’s journey from fear to self-assurance felt natural, if a touch youthful at times given his age. The world-building was solid and the themes around chosen family and self-acceptance were handled with care.

That said, the slow-burn pacing meant the ending felt a little rushed. Just as things began to bloom romantically, the story wrapped up, leaving a few threads (like Luis’s mother and his future path) frustratingly unresolved. Still, I found myself fully invested and would happily read a follow-up novella to see where their story goes.

Overall, a strong 4-star read with memorable characters, gentle humour, and a heartwarming connection at its core.

I COULDN’T PUT IT DOWN!!!

I read M/M romance, but admittedly- supernatural tinged and fantasy flavored romance isn’t my go-to. THAT BEING SAID, I found myself so endeared by these characters and so invested in their every interaction that I devoured this story far quicker than most novels I pick up.

There’s a tangible sense of realness with these characters and Luis’ parental disapproval being both metaphorically and *literally* driven by his queerness sparked such genuine emotion and conflict that I could see such anguish in.

Not a breath seems wasted, and every moment shared with these three characters had me on bated breath and aching for what could inevitably come next. Watching these three fall into their conspiratorial orbit and finally having their own bit of happiness through all of their pain and persecution was a balm to all of the uncertainty we see today.

Twice Bitten was tender, emotion, relevant, and sexy.
Highly recommend!

Archer Beau’s Twice Bitten is a book that instantly grabbed my attention. I went in with the hopes of a vampire story that would have me hooked, and I was not disappointed. Once I started the story, I happily devoured it with ease.

I will be honest and say that the book is far from perfect. There were quite a few instances with the writing where I felt like an editor was needed or it was feeling much younger than the story should have felt. However, the overall story had me addicted and able to overlook this. I fell hard and fast for the characters and could not get enough of watching the story unfold. There were plenty of elements that had me engaged, eager for more, and the slow development kept me turning the pages. There were some aspects I would have liked to explore more, but it was not enough to lessen my enjoyment of the story.

Overall, this was a highly addictive read that had me hooked throughout.

I don’t mind a well-written slow burn and that’s exactly what this is. A very well written drawn out romance between two vampires and their human chauffeur.

Luis has a lot of trauma - he’s gay, has a blood disease, and comes from a conservative household where even playing music is seen as a sin.

Karim and Julian are two vampires who are not afraid to open their relationship to their adorable human chauffeur and provide him with the love and protection he desperately needs.

I appreciated how well fleshed out each character was and that they didn’t immediately jump into bed together just to further a plot. Luis takes his time getting to know the couple and work his way up to putting himself out there now that he’s free from his mother’s abuse.

Will definitely be looking forward to Archer Beau’s next work!

This story is so sweet! A paranormal romance between an established vampire couple and a shy human driver. Luis is closed off from everything. He has his walls so high, he can't see the good things on the other side. The good things being Julien and Karim. Two married vampires who have let Louis into their lives. They have their own insecurities. But are willing to take a chance on something new. Be ready for a slow burn that is painstaking, but so worth it. I could have read this in one sitting if I didn't have responsibilities. This author knows how to create characters and weave a narrative! My only critique is i felt that some questions were left unanswered and some situations were left unresolved.

Dee’s Grade: B

This book had the potential for me to love it. Over 400 pages for what felt like a HFN felt looooooong and I love thicc books. This one felt unnecessarily long though. We are dealing with an established couple and a person they have an established connection too yet we spend 200 pages doing the same things they’ve been doing for a year off page.

With the preestablished relationships it seems like we could have jumped into them switching their dynamic much sooner.

Then by the end they are just barely in a relationship that feels like it could be solid but that a lot of time was wasted only to rush the end and not give us a definitive direction for the relationship.

Also this character is in his thirties and maybe he’s trauma stunted but it just often felt like he was so much younger.

Archer Beau's first novel, Twice Bitten, is a debut novel. If you're not into polyamory, you might want to go elsewhere because this is an MMM story. Luis, a human with a blood condition, and Karim and Julien, a vampire couple, are the main characters in this novel. I do mean slow burn when I say this romance was slow. The tale was fantastic, and I adored the characters. The plot was well-suited to the author's excellent, although unconventional, writing style. Personally, I would have preferred a different approach on only two matters. There were still questions I had when the story ended, so I would have preferred a more satisfying conclusion. Additionally, I would prefer it if the topic of consent was brought up more often. The book was nonetheless enjoyable for me, and I would suggest it to others.I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

I'd give it six stars if I could this was perfect It was every thing I wanted I loved the characters (Karim oh my god) it was brilliant I'm sorry but the slow burn was slow burning it was amazing I loved it oh my god it was one of if not my favourite fiction book I've read this year I loved the dynamic and the characters felt well fleshed out and you could see the flaws of the characters and the challenges they faced I felt it was really well written and the topics which were discussed were discussed in a sensitive matter which I appreciated I love this authors writing and think she has written an absolutely amazing novel especially for what appears to be a debut novel I absolutely recommend this it has something for everyone and I can't stop thinking about them oh my god I'd absolutely read a sequel or a book about Julien and Karim or even Cassie and her girlfriend

I enjoyed this one. I liked the take on the vampire plot line where everyone knows that vampires exist and their societies are intertwined. The whole concept that there's an Uber type service so vampires could eat was great and hilarious. I liked the bond between the three guys and Luis's best friend. While Luis is struggling with some religious trauma and how he was raised I liked how it was portrayed in here. The story was good, the characters were good, and overall I enjoyed it. I don't mind a slow burn, but I do wish this one was a little less slow. It didn't feel necessary to take as long as they did, especially considering they knew each other for a year when this began. But other than that I enjoyed it a lot!

The book was well written, and it kept my attention for most of the book with good characters, and a best friend that didn't just show up to push the plot forward.

I think my favourite part of this book, was the banter between Luis and Karim, I wanted more of it because it brought in a humorous element.

The reason for Luis to need the blood letting was a bit too on the nose but it worked so can't really fault it.

Wasn't too fond of the BDSM part, as they threw Luis in on the deep end with it, he was obviously lacking experience with human interactions and they should have seen it.
Despite that, the spice is very light and it's a slow burn.

A few loose ends left so I assume we just have to imagine how they would work out.

I enjoyed this book very much. Story is told from Luis' POV ..... and we are with him for his journey from sheltered upbringing and being brave. They are little steps and this is very much slow burn...but the anticipation and seeing those steps....patience is a virtue they say.....hehehe Loved the world building and I enjoyed the author's take on vampires out in modern society. Gives it some realism .... and the dynamic between Julien & Karim is beautiful. Seem total opposites but they work perfectly ! And then add in the added family drama ....gives the story another layer .... Great book - really enjoyable read !!

I loved this book. It was a beautiful, very slow burn romance between one human and his two married vampire employers. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved Luis, and Karim and Julien. I loved the dynamic between them and the way their relationship developed. The chemistry between them sizzled- a slow tease over the course of many pages. Torture for me! lol But I knew it'd be worth it. And boy was it ever! This story was a journey for Luis- becoming comfortable in and accepting himself, finding love, and of course dealing with his mother and the hatred she presented. I also liked the supporting characters. I was hooked.

This is the first story I've read by this author and I would definitely read more. 5 stars

This book pulled me out of a book slump so obviously it’s a great read. The plot was perfect. The spice was built up slowly but perfectly like it was edging you right along with the characters which made it so much better.
I loved the journey this book went on to get to the ending. The growth of our main character was such a beautiful thing to see. Watching him bloom into the man he was always meant to be was beautiful. Watching the love of the characters grow throughout this story was like watching your favorite flower bloom for the first time. Can’t wait to see what else you bring to life!!!

In order to force himself out of the house (and as an act of rebellion against his conservative, religious, vampire-hating mother) Luis gets a job as a chauffeur to a vampire couple once a week. Oblivious to any and all flirtation, Luis gets slowly, so slowly seduced by Julien and Karim.

This is the slowest of slow burn with Julien constantly pumping the brakes on Karim’s more aggressive seduction. I was quite frustrated by him but the dynamic ended up being fun and mostly worth the wait. I do wish there had been more of them together at last.

Vampirism as healthcare was hilarious and fascinating. I could easily see humans exploiting their need for blood and the healing properties of their saliva exactly as it’s portrayed here. Add in the religious aspect and it’s frighteningly believable.

Overall it was really enjoyable and I’d definitely read more from this author.
