What struck me most was the emotional honesty. The author doesn’t soften the pain or romanticize the damage caused by desire and loss. Each character carries the weight of their past in a way that feels authentic, and their struggles unfold with a raw vulnerability that makes it impossible not to care. The darker moments betrayal, tragedy, even murder are handled with restraint and purpose, never for shock alone, but as part of a deeper exploration of consequence and healing.
