Special Agent Gin Reilly is settling into the FBI’s Critical Crimes Unit, with several high-profile cases already closed by her homicide team. So the last call she was expecting was from the Domestic Terrorism Unit.
While on a stake-out on the edge of one of the most remote forests in the country, they’re suddenly finding dead bodies. And these aren’t randomly selected victims. Each one is an active member in the Truth Keepers, a survivalist group known for its violence and anti-government stance. The Domestic Terrorism unit was used to dealing with the activities of this group, but not the brutal murders of its members. And when they call for help, Gin finds herself, along with the team, temporarily reporting to Domestic Terrorism.
When they arrive on scene, it comes as no surprise that despite being the targets of a vicious killer, the survivalists refuse to cooperate with Gin and her team. But when she uncovers a link between the murders and a series of disappearances of young women from the surrounding towns, she’s no longer dealing with just the survivalists wanting her to stay away. Now she’s drawn the attention of a killer whose murders have gone undetected for years, and doesn’t care how many more or who he has to kill to avoid being caught.

Solid Case But Overworked Attitude
Gin Riley is a strong, capable FBI agent—and honestly, I want to love her. Her backstory is intense (she turned in her own serial killer father at 14), so the ongoing “you’re that girl” undercurrent makes sense.
But by book three, the constant need to prove herself to every man in the room is getting a little exhausting. There were multiple moments where her snark and refusal to accept help felt less like strength and more like… girl, please just take the backup.
The plot itself was solid and kept me engaged, though a few pieces felt unnecessary. Overall, still a good read if you’re invested in the series—I just hope Gin’s character starts to settle into her strength instead of constantly fighting to prove it.

Wow! What a great adventure. Loved this story beginning to end. In fact, I rarely put the book aside when I opened the pages. Once again, we follow Special Agent Gin Reilly, along with her partner Agent JT, Agent Trey Robard and special assistant Twiz. I say special assistant for Twiz as I'm not sure anyone really knew what his job was, but he was always there when needed. The FBI had murder cases in Idaho that were expanding daily and needed all the help that could be mustard-up. There was the Truth Keepers who owned land surrounded by guards who ran a rundown camp of those that lived off the grid. This case is well written and kept me reading to just stay up with the findings of the Agents. Thanks for excellent writing and grand story telling.

A definite must read book and series
This was an intense, extremely complex, and suspenseful thriller with many unexpected twists that will hook you from beginning to end. It was a fantastic story, and a great addition to the series.
The only issue with this book (& the previous book) was it had several editing errors, which were mostly misspelled words, or words that had letter(s) missing all together. It wasn't a severe issue, but certainly one worth mentioning, especially as it's an unusual trait for this author.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.

GIN REILLY: JAGGED EDGE
Did not disappoint. Excellent writing, good pacing, thriller plot. It even had some characters that were good guys, amidst a bunch of backwoods cretans.

outstanding!
This story was so exciting and I just couldn’t put it down! The characters worked so well together to make me enjoy their interactions. I also appreciate the fact that stories can be written without foul language. Thank you for that and for another fabulous read!

Such an intriguing series. An interesting case with Gin Reilly uses all her skills successfully while constantly dealing with the shame of her past. I always look forward to another case with Gin.

Gin Reilly again finds herself in the wilderness hunting a serial killer. This is another page turner with characters developing with each new episode.
