Drowning In Her

Rate this book
Some storms break you. Others leave you breathless… and drowning in her.
Former Coast Guard rescue diver Alex Hopper swore she was done with the sea. After a mission ended in tragedy, she walked away from the water and built a solitary life on the cliffs of Saltmist Bay. Just her, her dog, and a crumbling house she’s been piecing back together brick by brick. No crew. No risks. No attachments.

Then Colby Stubbs barrels into her world in a bright yellow camper van, all golden skin, restless laughter, and temptation Alex doesn’t dare touch. A travel blogger chasing her next story, Colby isn’t supposed to stay. But when a reckless photo op strands her on the cliffs, Alex’s instincts override her walls. One rope descent later, Colby is in her arms, and Alex is hooked on the one thing she'd promised herself she'd never want again.

Colby is everything Alex wanted to temporary, curious, and dangerously addictive. But long nights turn hotter than either of them planned, and stolen kisses quickly become something neither can walk away from.

But when a sudden storm drags Alex’s past into the present, she’s forced back into the water that nearly destroyed her. To save Colby—and herself—she must face her greatest fear and the truth she’s buried for years.

Introducing Drowning in Her, Book One in the Saltmist Bay series — a steamy sapphic romance brimming with passion, healing, and second chances. Perfect for fans of grumpy/sunshine dynamics with serious heat, small-town charm, and a satisfying happy-ever-after.

This is my first book by this author but it won’t be the last. It was very well written, the characters well described, interesting story. It is poignant and it stays with you. They rescued each other. My only problem with the book is that I feel it needed an epilogue to wrap it all in. I don’t want to give away too much, but the reader, at least me, needs a continuity of their story rather than a more vague outcome. Because of the nature of the characters, particularly one of the characters, it would have been nice to read where they are at 2-3 years from now. Otherwise, it is a great story, worth reading. I recommend it.

A Great Love Story by the Sea

Saltmist is a wonderful small seaport town in Maine. Our heroine is a medically retired Coast Guard Rescue swimmer who returned home to live alone and try to heal her PTSD. A young woman rents the closest cottage to her home and a lovely love story begins. I loved this book and highly recommend it.

Rescue and romance

This is a good story, well researched and written. Two women with issues who help heal one another. I enjoyed the plot and the all of the characters had interesting stories

nice & complicated

I like the way they met and travelled toward each other with great backstories. Their alignment inevitably carved in a cliff.

Drowning in her is a cute rescue romance featuring grumpy/sunshine and age gap tropes. It’s well written and the romance is believable.

Felt like I was out of the loop this entire story. Characters all seemed the same and a lot of plot was just relegated to "over the next few days/weeks". Just not for me.
