A New Home is definitely for an early reader. This juvenile biography, has a very short but sweet story line. Squirrel pam loses a hat, but in turn finds a friend (Matt) on the way. Its a good book for students who are new to reading or have a shorter attention spans. The illustrations depict the story well and create for a more entertaining story.

I personally found this a bit bland and unsatisfying even for an early reader book. Squirrel Matt moves to a new home and needs to find a friend.

We love this series! The level 1 readers come with a craft or an activity idea related to the theme of the book. My daughter loves doing these crafts. A few words were difficult to sound out(stopped and begged) , but other than that smooth sailing with this book.
