The next books of the series! The Swordsman Returns (Book 3): The Swordsman Returns (Book 4):
I thought my world’s salvation was just a step away, but I was wrong…
I refused to go down without a fight. I returned home, but everything had changed. All was not lost, however - even in this world, I have found allies willing to fight by my side.
Now I have to recover my lost strength and deal with the legacy my friends left behind.
Unfortunately, i don't like where the main plot is leading. I liked the first book more when the Mc was hardcore and more decisive and just would have eliminated the threat as soon as possible, without all the drama..
I didn't really care about the company the MC establishes. The shopping scene was funny, but also the only humorous scene i remember. The constant operas and lusty groopies are getting old by now too..
Criticism and comments
The physics of the underwater rift are fascinating. The people breathe, talk, walk, smoke, light fires, comment on the absence of wind...
Shade Shadowblade’s notes had been seen - how? To any random witness they would looked like simple pages..
The party split event was highly contrived if it happened unintentional..
It is amazing how many critical secrets Rivers entrusts to his henchman..
The 27 lives plot doesn't work out given the context. At least 3 corpses remained outside..
"Her pale skill emphasized her aristocratic roots," - autocorrect is a pain..
"Across from them were Leonard, one of the clan’s best Hunters." - is Leonard a hive mind?
I received a review copy of this book. The Swordsman Returns is the second book in this series, and it's a pretty good continuation of the first book in the series. I'm sorry this one got tied down in politics, I would much have preferred to see this one continue in the same vein as the first one, with the main character closing rifts, earning his upgrades, and so on, not being hounded at every turn, even by a no good character even his relatives agreed was useless, but such is life. Did like the arena fight though. Looking forward to the next one in the series.
I’m a little disappointed with this book. Too much politics. The fact that he didn’t just go and kill Rivers is puzzling. I mean he’s been killing demons for a thousand years. Why would he worry about a guild leader. And the cliffhangers are like the soap opera that he likes. I’m going to have think about continuing on with this series
Great book good charaters and plot its really heating up for a good battle for the world. And you really got to love a hell hound who can control when his extra heads and hell chains hang around.
