Tessa Rivers writes contemporary romance filled with sizzling chemistry, heart-fluttering moments, and the promise of happy endings worth waiting for. When she's not crafting stories that make readers blush, she's probably planning her next travel adventure or cuddling with her pups. Tessa believes real life is complicated enough, which is why her books offer love, courage, and just enough spice to keep readers turning pages well past bedtime.
I had never read a book by Tessa Rivers but I liked the blurb and it was recommended by another of my favorite authors so I bought it. Off -Limits Rancher was amazing! It had so many interesting parts and I loved the way it stretched over multiple years. The fact that she turned out to be a famous documentary producer and came back was a neat twist. She was beautiful, smart and unforgettable. He was a older good looking sexy cowboy that owned a big ranch. Their love story was epic. Their shared history was such a great plot twist. This book kept you turning the pages and not being able to put it down. So many things happening and be prepared to have your emotions go all over the place. This book is so good you will be thinking about it days later and I bet you will go back and re-read all the sweet romantic moments in this book. I highly recommend it. This author is very talented.
I don’t usually don’t read books about todays world. My style of choice is the old west, wagon trains, mail order brides and such, but the little preview of the tale just caught my attention. I actually really enjoyed the story and the characters. Tori is a young woman recently out of college making her way in what is usually a man’s world. Out for a vacation of sorts with her friend from college. Enjoying camping and a wild night of having a drink or two in a country western dance hall. Beau is a man much older than she and the dance together expecting only a fun night and new friends. They will have to work out all the problems of and old family history the ended badly and not even counting the sixteen years of age as they realize what lies before them. That is if they really give it a chance.
Warm and Atmospheric Romance This age-gap, enemies-to-lovers story has a lovely writing style that suits the setting and subject perfectly. The prose flows beautifully, and the emotional moments are written with such care that the feelings practically rise off the page. The chemistry between the leads shines brightest in the sensual scenes, which are intimate and sexy without ever feeling vulgar. I also appreciated how authentic the ranch backdrop felt. From cattle work to the daily rhythm of ranch life, the details were vivid and convincing, even for someone like me who isn’t familiar with that world. While the plot and characters are on the lighter side and the central conflict isn’t overly complex, the novel delivers a gentle, heartfelt romance for readers looking for a sweet escape.
Tori first meets Beau at The Dusty Spur, a bar in Silver Creek, Wyoming. Her bestie, Kaitlyn, and her stopped in during their traveling. As soon as Tori sees Beau on the dance floor, she’s hooked. Beau has also noticed her. They dance together until Kaitlyn interrupts them because she got bad news. Her dad has had a heart attack. Beau offers to drive them to airport. Tori and Beau end up spending one glorious night together and she leaves. It’s six years before they see each other again and she’s now the enemy. That may be but their chemistry is still as strong as ever, if not hotter. Grab your copy and see what happens while Tori is in town for her job.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
It’s cute and a quick contemporary read that shows a very realistic side of relationships, family, and all the messy bits. The MMC isn’t perfect, which actually makes him feel very real, and the chemistry between the couple was believable. The “I love you” moment felt a little quick, but it made sense since they’d never really stopped thinking about each other after six years apart. The pacing flowed nicely for a short read. Spice level is about a 3 out of 5 - enough to add to the romance without overpowering it. Perfect for anyone who enjoys realistic relationship dynamics, a ranch setting, and doesn’t mind an age gap romance.

Great book, with a perfect story line! Beau is a mature cowboy, rugged, grumpy and just dedicated to his family. Tori is younger and in a way still not completely certain of herself. After one explosive night together, they are set to deal with secrets, sense of duty, and heartbreak. The cowboy life style and the ranch provide the perfect background for the angsty feels of the MCs, it is real, rugged, and vast. Their chemistry is amazing, and you will love seeing them mature and change through the book. A great read!.

What a fantastic story about Beau and Tori and how they met at the Dusty Spur. Tori and Beau dancing and there for her friend when her father had the heart attack. It was great when Beau offered to take her hours away to an airport for her friend to fly home. The night that Beau and Tori spent together was remembered six years later when Tori came back to do a documentary. Tori interviews ranchers and eventually Beau for the show. Feelings from years past surface and become stronger over time. Tori’s documentary was finished and I liked the results. I loved the happily ever after of this story.
The MCs are a good match despite the age difference! They both are real to the life that they are living, which makes the story great. I loved the relationship between the characters and the story is engaging and good! Great Book!!! No Spoilers! I Recommend!.

I love this age-gap romance, Beau the consummate cowboy and Victoria who is trying to find her way in life. A per chance meeting bringing them together for one night. A six year separation, and a new job has brought them back together. A lot of things transpired and after everything they got their HEA. This is truly a wonderful love story!
OMG Tessa has done it again and written the most AMAZING romance book ever that you need to get your hands on NOW. Beau and Tori are going to make your ENTIRE weekend so much better just reading about their romance story. This is the type of romance read that you will want to clear your schedule fora few days so you can just stay home and read.
Beautiful age gap romance with realistic real life issues and a honest view of ranching instead of a romanticized idea of it! I loved this book and beau being real about being an alcoholic and every day being a struggle!
Tori heads to Wyoming to work on a documentary about ranchers. In the back of her mind, she hopes she might run across Beau, a man she meant 6 years previously when she was on a trip right after she graduated from college. Tori had spent one night with Beau and never forgot him.
This is my second book by this author, and again—I am OBSESSED. It is such a BLESSING to read a book that doesn't bounce between past and present! I love that she doesn't waste time diving into backstory I have no interest in. The narrative is clean, forward-moving, and refreshingly easy to follow. I felt totally immersed without ever feeling confused or bogged down. I loved it.
🤠 Review: From the moment the heroine stepped into that cowboy bar, I was hooked. One night with a rugged silver fox in worn denim and boots? Yes, please. Beau Lawson is the kind of man who leaves a mark—and this story made sure I felt every moment of their connection.
The age gap, the sizzling chemistry, the emotional stakes—it was all so well done. I loved how the author didn’t shy away from the complexity of their reunion years later, especially with the family feud looming over them. The tension between loyalty and love was palpable, and I found myself torn right alongside the heroine.
💔 The reveal about her grandfather poisoning Beau’s land? Gut-wrenching. The way the author handled that twist was powerful and emotionally charged, without ever feeling melodramatic. Every glance, every kiss, every moment between them felt earned and deeply romantic.
🌾 The Wyoming setting added a rich, atmospheric backdrop that made me want to pack my bags and find my own cowboy. I need more from this author—her storytelling is addictive, her characters unforgettable, and her romances absolutely swoon-worthy.
