Blade's Runaway Bride: An Ex-Military Age Gap Instalove Romance

Rate this book
Blade
I'm not built for tenderness. My hands know only violence, my soul carved hollow by years of bloodshed.
Then she appeared... A runaway bride in the headlights of my Harley, blue eyes wild with fear and defiance.
Kelly Stone. The first person to see past the monster to the man beneath.
They call me Blade for a reason. Cold. Sharp. Lethal. The club's weapon, pointed wherever Reaper aims.
I should have dropped her at a shelter and forgotten her face. Instead, I brought her to my bed, let her under my skin, showed her parts of me no one has ever seen.
She says I saved her that night on the roadside.
She doesn't understand. With every touch, every truth she pulls from my scarred soul, she's the one saving me.
And for her, I'll burn this whole world down.

Blade's Runaway Bride is a short, sweet, and steamy small-town instalove romance with a happy-ever-after. It can be read as a standalone or together with the rest of the books in the Outlaw Order MC series.

Listen… some books start with a spark. This one starts with a runaway bride in a wedding dress staring down a lethal biker like she’s deciding whether to scream or climb him. And honestly? Same, girl. Same.

Blade is the club’s resident weapon — the man they unleash when diplomacy fails, which is always. He’s sharp, scarred, emotionally barricaded, and absolutely convinced he’s built for violence, not tenderness. The man probably hasn’t hugged anyone since the Bush administration.

And then Kelly appears in his headlights.

She’s terrified, furious, and done with being controlled — a woman who looks like she’s one bad moment away from shattering or setting the world on fire. And Blade? This man who doesn’t do softness suddenly turns into a walking contradiction: all lethal edges on the outside, all “I will protect you with my last breath” on the inside.

Their connection hits fast, but not in a cheap way — more like two people who’ve been running on empty finally finding someone who sees them without flinching. Kelly isn’t fragile; she’s just exhausted. Blade isn’t heartless; he’s just convinced he doesn’t deserve anything good. And watching them circle each other with all that tension simmering underneath? Delicious chaos.

The romance stays spoiler‑light but vibe‑heavy:
that slow, reluctant tenderness Blade doesn’t know how to handle,
Kelly finding her footing again,
and the kind of devotion that feels like a growl in the dark.

It’s gritty.
It’s sweet.
It’s a little unhinged.
And it hits exactly the way an instalove MC romance should — fast, fierce, and full of that “I’ll burn the world down for you” energy.

Blade and Kelly

This is another installment of the Outlaw Order MC and we have Blade and Kelly’s story. Blade finds Kelly in a torn and dirty wedding dress while out on patrol. She’s on the run from the Vultures MC and against Blade’s usual MO he puts her on the back of his bike and takes her back to the clubhouse. The club has been after Charles, their rival for quite some time and with Kelly they might find their inside information to take him down along with the rest of the Vultures MC.

Even though Blade tries to distance himself from Kelly because he doesn’t do relationships, he is fighting a losing battle. I love the way he protects her and helps her find herself again after all the abuse and I love how they brought out the best in each. I loved this book and I can’t wait for more to come in this series.

Blade’s Runaway Bride by Zoey Rose is the kind of gritty, emotional, and unexpectedly tender MC romance that punches you straight in the heart and then cradles it until the last page. It’s about two broken souls—one running from danger, the other from himself—colliding in the most unlikely place and discovering that sometimes salvation doesn’t come softly…it roars up on a Harley.

Blade is everything his name implies—cold, sharp, and dangerous. As the enforcer of his motorcycle club, he’s a man shaped by violence and loss, not mercy or love. But the night he finds Kelly—barefoot, terrified, and still wearing her wedding dress on a dark stretch of road—something shifts. For the first time in years, he doesn’t see a threat. He sees someone worth saving.

Kelly has spent her life surviving—one painful choice after another—but when she runs into Blade, she finds something she’s never had before: safety. His words are rough, his hands scarred, but his presence? Solid. Real. Unyielding. The kind of strength you can lean on without fear of breaking.

Their connection is immediate, intense, and laced with danger. Between his club’s brewing trouble and the shadow of her violent past, they shouldn’t have time for softness. Yet somehow, in the chaos, they find it—in shared glances, whispered truths, and the kind of passion that strips them bare, body and soul.

What makes Blade’s Runaway Bride unforgettable isn’t just the danger or the steam (though there’s plenty of both). It’s the heart. It’s watching a man who’s forgotten how to hope find light in the woman he never meant to keep. It’s seeing Kelly reclaim her strength—not because Blade saves her, but because he believes she can save herself.

Zoey Rose delivers a story that’s fierce, filthy, and full of redemption. It’s about healing through love, choosing trust when everything in you screams not to, and finding home in the most unexpected person.

If you love your romances raw, protective, and filled with heart-melting moments that balance out the grit, Blade’s Runaway Bride will stay with you long after you close the book. It’s proof that even the most hardened hearts can find peace—and that sometimes, the scariest man in the room turns out to be the safest place you’ll ever land.

Sometimes a short little audiobook is just what I need and this one did not disappoint. It is full of tension, angst, dark secrets, intense moments and a morally-gray MC named Blade who is drawn to his little rescue runaway bride, Kelly. There's touch her and you stop breathing. There's Caretaking. There's sensuality. And, the story is well-written in a succinct but satisfying way.

The audiobook is where the story is elevated. In this dual narrated audiobook, both the narrators are fantastic. Kingsley Rose is a new to me narrator and she captured the vulnerability of Kelly in her scenes. She brought the desperation and terror to the forefront and kept the intensity turned up through the more sensual moments. Her ability to mimic Lucas Troy's tone and cadence when doing Blade's dialogue was fabulous and kept me in the story. Lucas Troy knocks another book out of the park with this one. When Blade is in his element being part of the MC, Lucas drops his voice to a low cadence, when he's curious and care taking, he softens it just enough to show he's affected. When he brings in the Kelly dialogue it's believable and matches Kingley's diction wonderfully. Furthermore, when Lucas voices the other male MC club members to life on the page like Reaper and the villians, they all have very clear personalities and voices.
If you like a short, fun, dark MC romance with great Dual Narration...pick this one up. 5 stars for excellent audiobook production by Podium Audio, as well!
Thank you to the author Zoey Rose, Lucas Troy and Podium for the ALC Listen to Blade's Runaway Bride, I'm surely going to check out the other books in this series.

Everything Happens for a Reason -
Blade’s conscience wouldn’t allow him to leave the distraught woman he came across on the road, but the moment he found out why she was there, he knew he had no other choice other than to help her. Even though Kelly was apprehensive about accepting help from the biker, she realised he was her only option and knew she had made the right decision when he did everything possible to keep her safe, when they unexpectedly found themselves in danger.

Blade tried to dismiss his growing attraction for Kelly by telling himself it was because she was safe, but his argument went out the window he felt her in his arms and his body went out of control. Kelly felt a connection and safety with Blade that she had never felt with anyone else, so the moment she saw nothing wrong in satiating her aroused body when the opportunity presented itself. However, Blade and Kelly’s passionate moments had to be put on hold whilst they dealt with the real problem plaguing his MC club.

Fortunately, Blade and Kelly got to have a chance at a future happiness they never expected and she got to make the dreams she had imagined come to fruition with help from her new family. This gripping damsel in distress MC romance story was a truly fantastic read, that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a book with a bit of danger and steaminess, as well as a deeply moving and emotional storyline in this well crafted story.

Kelly and Blade

BLADE'S RUNAWAY BRIDE is Book 5 of the Outlaw Order MC series. It's a short and steamy, OTT, age-gap, runaway bride, damsel-in-distress, forced-proximity, curvy virgin gets her biker romance.  Kelly is a young, curvy, runaway bride. Blade is a hunky, ex-military man, who is now part of the Outlaw Order MC. He is known for his knife skills and the ability to take out the enemy. When he sees Kelly on the side of the road, he stops to check on her. She was supposed to marry someone from the Vultures MC but ran after realizing how awful she would be treated. Blade is drawn to Kelly and her quiet strength, but also doesn't think that he is worthy of love. Can Kelly get through to him? I loved this couple and how they were able to help each other heal. Their chemistry was pure fire and the ending was so happy after the danger and drama. I can't wait for Viper's story next.

4.5 ⭐

Zoey Rose is seriously my comfort author at this point because I will devour every single Outlaw Order MC book like it’s my job.

Blade’s Runaway Bride was everything I wanted: age gap, runaway bride drama, instant obsession, and a man who gives “touch her and die” energy from page one. Blade is that perfect kind of hero, ex-military, intense, protective, and absolutely not playing about her. The way he steps in and basically says you’re safe now had me eating this up. And I loved the Kelly too because she isn’t weak, she’s just finally at the point where she’s done, and watching her grow and be brave really hit home for me.

The romance is fast, spicy, and emotional in the best way. And of course, the MC brotherhood vibes just make the whole story feel like home if you’ve read the rest of the series. If you love instalove, protective men, and MC romance that hits every time, you should really read this series.

🌶️🌶️

I need to listen to more MC novels! Even though this was the fifth book in the Outlaw Order, I got the gist of the background pretty quickly. Lucas is just someone I could listen to all day, every day, and never get bored, and this was just another knock-out of the park from him. This was my first time listening to Kingsley Rose, and I think she did a fantastic job of Kelly! Zoey tells a fantastic story of a woman running away from her wedding day and bumping into a man they call Blade. They bond over past trauma and similar backgrounds. It’s a fast-paced romance, and I feel Blade would do anything for Kelly and vice versa! I definitely want to dive into more of these books!

On the run from the Vulture MC Kelly is in hiding wedding dress and all when she runs into Blade. He can't believe his eyes when he sees her sitting under a tree but her answer about running from charles the very man his MC is after captured his attention and started their path. As they make their way to the compound Kelly sitting on the back of his bike sparks feelings, he has never had. Will their connection bring them the happiness neither has had. This action-packed thriller drew me in and had me connecting with Kelly and Blade.

This story gripped me from the start. Blade came off as emotionally vacant, more a machine than feeling human. Kelly was scared for her life and willing to risk the unknown over belong left by herself again. The descriptions of the tumultuous emotions, attraction, and reactions they both experienced were clear and communicated the strength and rapid progression of the bond forming between the main characters. They both had some tough choices to make. They could stay in their comfort zones, costing them this '"connection',, or risk vulnerability for a shot at redemption.

Blade and Kelly

Kelly's wedding day quickly turned into a nightmare when she found herself running for her life. That's when Blade, a member of the Vultures MC, appeared out of nowhere and offered to help. As they navigated their way through danger, Kelly and Blade discovered they had more in common than they thought. With their undeniable chemistry, Kelly and Blade proved that even in the darkest moments, love can prevail.
I'd just really love to know what happened to Mike and how they finally took down Charles

Blade runs into a runaway bride who is running for her life. He is the last one to bring back a stray but there is something about this woman that tugs on his heartstrings. Kelly has had a very rough life and now she runs into a big hard scary man but there is something about him and his blunt speaking ways that makes her feel safe. Kelly wants to save her sister from where she escaped from. This book is so good I could not put it down. This series keeps getting better and better!!

“Blade’s Runaway Bride” by Zoey Rose

- An older man/younger woman story about Blade/Marcus and Kelly. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

Blade finds Kelly barefoot and fleeing her wedding. Fate throws them together. She’s running from danger; he’s running from feeling. Their story is raw, emotional, and full of grit, danger, and unexpected tenderness.

A short, fierce MC romance about trust, healing, and finding love.

Attraction and Danger go hand in hand when think about MC and this amazing series - Outlaw Order MC. Kelly, runaway bride, ran from Vultures MC when Blade saved her. Now they are two survivors who came from the system that failed them as kids, this similar hisyory bonded them strongly.
Loved the story and characters. And love this MC family, happy to have them in each new book of the series.

They did it!

First, Blade finds his love. Wonderful! Men have always had trouble facing their demons, whether huge like Blades or just saying they care. This was an enormous issue for him but he fell in LOVE. 😍 love it. Second, the Outlaw Order MC finally got rid of their enemy. Charles is out of the picture and now their town, families and friends can live in peace.

enjoyable read

Liked this book in a series about a military Mc and the guys meeting their significant others. Blade was like the others, surly and alpha but with a heart of gold. Liked Kelly who had a strong backbone. Instant love but what the heck was a good read.

I was lucky enough to get the ALC.
The story is short and sweet, and a little spice added in.
Both narrators were excellent in their dual chapters. Sometimes its hard to find narrators that can voice the opposite sex and both Lucas Troy and Kingsley Rose did fantastic jobs.
