★★★★½ (4.5/5)

Elyseum: Obsession by Robyn Vale is a seductive, emotionally charged start to the Elyseum series that pulls you in with atmosphere, chemistry, and a slow-burning sense of inevitability. What begins as a quiet retreat meant for healing quickly becomes something far more consuming, and the transition feels both natural and dangerously alluring.

Camille is refreshingly grounded—self-aware, guarded, and realistic about who she is and what she wants. She doesn’t fall into fantasy easily, which makes her connection with Alex Dunning all the more compelling. Alex embodies the polished billionaire exterior with just enough mystery beneath the surface to keep both Camille and the reader unsettled. Their dynamic is layered with tension, restraint, and undeniable pull, and the push-and-pull between desire and self-preservation is handled beautifully.

The settings elevate the story significantly. From the elegance of Mayfair to the intimacy of the Mediterranean, the world feels immersive and intentional, mirroring Camille’s internal unraveling as she steps further away from the life she thought she understood. The story thrives on mood—glances, conversations, and moments that linger long after the page is turned.

Told entirely through Camille’s perspective, the narrative leans heavily into obsession, illusion, and emotional vulnerability. While the pacing occasionally slows as the tension builds, it ultimately works in the book’s favor, making the emotional stakes feel earned rather than rushed. Knowing this is an ARC, the foundation is incredibly strong, and the polish to come will only elevate it further.

Overall, Elyseum: Obsession is a captivating, steamy billionaire romance that prioritizes emotional depth alongside desire. If you enjoy immersive settings, intense chemistry, and romances that blur the line between control and surrender, this book is an excellent start to what promises to be a very addictive series.

This is Book 1 of the Elyseum series.

'From Mayfair’s elegance to the intimacy of a Mediterranean harbor, what should have been just a pause in her monotonous life turns into appearances, secrets, and a desire neither of them can escape.'

The characters were well written and developed. Plot was well paced. World building was solidly drawn. All in all a very good read. Recommend.
