Eternal Echoes: the up-and-coming band of besties, making noise on stage and in headlines. In 2010, they're set to be one of the biggest, coolest bands in the country, all set to play six months of new coast-to-coast tour dates. Their band manager just has to balance keeping them from getting into too much trouble with booze and babes with keeping the band happy. Not difficult--they certainly love playing shows and *meeting and greeting* fans, but when the manager suggests livening up their sound by adding a female front to the mix? The boys in the band are not, in fact, happy.
Until they hear a demo from the "British Bookworm," their eventual nickname for the angel voice they hear singing their demos, haunting them all but mostly frontman Jordan. When the quiet, somewhat shy young woman from abroad arrives, she not only captivates them with her curves but mesmerizes them with her vocals.
In short, Beth Daniels not only steals their breaths, she steals their hearts as well.
Sure, drummer Nick is the flirtiest and most outgoing of the trio, and Dan the bassist may have caught her attention with his witty banter, but both are friend-zoned when Beth can't keep her eyes and mind off of the broody lead singer. Especially since he's brooding for her and vice versa.
For those of you who want more pining, more yearning in romance, this book delivers oh so much, and oh so well! Ever so slowly, between band practices and social/private moments, pining gives way to the lingering of gazes and the tiniest of touches. They all want her, but they also know who's got the best shot at winning her heart.
By the time the floodgates opened and their relationship blossomed, I was flipping pages at breakneck speed, rooting for the young lovebirds to take.all.the.chances and declare all.the.things.
It also delivers oh so well on that front!
What's even more great about this book is that even though you see it coming, and you get to feel all the feels, you get to do so from all of their perspectives, not just one. What ends up being a love story between a man and a woman is deliciously seen through the couple's own eyes but also the eyes of the rest of the band. The characters aren't just half of the couple; they're integral parts of the whole.
Near the end, tragedy strikes and throws a wrench into not only the couple's plans but possibly the band's. Thank God there's a second book coming soon because as I finished the story, I was about to RAGE! Need more! <3 Can't wait!
