He’s tasked to pull off a kidnapping. Fate gives him the wrong twin.
The absolute last thing book-obsessed Charlotte Bennett expects while browsing the bookstore is to be kidnapped by grumpy ex-Marine, Aiden Carter—the man tasked to abduct her twin sister.
Charlotte is forced into his vehicle with bound hands and a sack over her head, her heart tripping with nerves—the good and bad kind—while a scowly broad-shouldered man drives her into a panic.
When an unexpected stop allows Charlotte to get to know the man responsible for her abduction, the chemistry in the air charges with tangible proof of a dark romance gone right.
Suddenly, she starts to wonder if the man who tied her up could also be the one to win over her heart.
Tied Up for Love is a a grumpy x sunshine, mistaken identity, strangers to lovers story between a dark romance reader and her captor.
Writing under a pen name, Nora Lane is a Vietnamese romance writer, a mom, a wife, a pharmacist, and a coffee addict. She lives in Oklahoma, with her husband and two boys, but wishes to one day be in a state that doesn't experience all four seasons in one day.
Living in her own grumpy x sunshine, friends-to-lovers, workplace romance happily-ever-after, she writes short, sweet, and fun stories for readers who need a quick escape.
"Taylor Swift is engaged! Can you imagine the wedding? The dress? The guest list? I'm telling you, if she doesn't release a secret double album as wedding favours, I'm writing her a strongly worded DM."
Thoughts: I really liked how the female main character (FMC) described herself, sharing her opinion on her appearance. We usually don't get this information directly from a character. I loved the Swift references throughout the book! The chemistry between the two main characters (MCs) felt very natural, and their banter was entertaining, especially her tendency to ramble. I truly enjoyed this aspect. However, I would have liked the book even more if it had been a bit longer. It would have given us more insight into the male MC leading up to the main plot, which might have made me like him more. I also appreciated all the book references; they reminded me of that TikTok trend where people joked about falling for a kidnapper, especially dark romance readers.
Favourite Moment: When he realised, he had the wrong girl, his fear and panic were hilarious! 😂
Notes: I loved this story. It was short and sweet, with plenty of references that made me laugh.
Who knew that a kidnapping gone wrong would feel so, so right! Nora Lane’s Tied Up for Love is a deliciously daring novella that blends danger, chemistry, and unexpected tenderness.
Charlotte, aka Charlie, is a small bakery owning, overworked, book-obsessed heroine, that finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. One day she’s snatched up, right off Main Street by Aiden, her sister’s fiancé’s best friend, who was supposed to abduct her twin for some role play. What begins as a terrifying ordeal quickly morphs into a charged, fate-twisted encounter between the two. Bound hands, a sack over her head, and a scowly man behind the wheel set the stage for a dark romance that pulses with adrenaline and longing.
I really enjoyed the forbidden tension between captor and captive. At times toeing the line between fear and desire in a way that felt both risky and irresistible. Charlie was attracted to her kidnapper, and Aiden thought he was falling for his best friend’s girl. Charlie is quirky, witty, and vulnerable at times, her bookish heart makes her relatable even in the most extreme circumstances. Aiden is the quintessential grumpy hero: broad-shouldered, brooding, but layered with unexpected depth. His protective instincts sneak through the cracks of his hardened exterior.
Lane doesn’t shy away from the messy edges of dark romance, but she also infuses the story with so much warmth and humor. The chemistry between Charlie and Aiden is undeniable, and the “wrong twin” twist adds a playful fate-driven element that makes the story stand out.
This is such a fun, unique novella you don’t want to miss out on. Can’t wait to see what’s next in the For Love Novella series! A huge thank you to Nora Lane & Naughty Nook PR for the early copy to review!!
Charlie—sweet, sunshiney, book-obsessed Charlie—literally minding her own business in a bookstore (the dream), only to be kidnapped by a grumpy ex-Marine with shoulders big enough to block out the sun?? YES. Inject this trope directly into my bloodstream.
Aiden is the perfect scowly menace. He’s supposed to snatch the twin, gets the wrong one, and instead of spiraling he just… keeps going?? Sir. SIR. The way this man glowers, the way he growls, the way he is accidentally soft under all that muscle and competence—I’m pacing the room thinking about him.
And Charlie?? LORD HELP ME. The way she goes from panicked to “wait, why is my captor kinda hot tho?” had me screaming into a pillow. Their chemistry is SO GOOD it practically crackles off the page. Every scene with them together feels like watching a match drop into gasoline—slow burn but then WHOOMPH, flames everywhere.
And when they start actually talking?? Dead. DONE. The banter. The tension. The “I shouldn’t want you” energy. The fact that she reads dark romance and suddenly realizes she’s living one… I ascended.
This is peak grumpy x sunshine, peak mistaken identity, peak strangers-to-lovers chaos. It’s dark, it’s sweet, it’s unhinged in the very best way, and I loved every absurd, adrenaline-charged, heart-thumping second.
Charlie and Aiden’s chemistry?? INSANE. OFF THE CHARTS. THE KIND YOU FEEL IN YOUR TEETH.
On a cozy winter night, when you crave for a rom-com with the FMC high on novels and MMC sticking hard to reality, “Tied Up For Love” should be your next read. And, trust me, it will be your best read rom-com of the year like mine.
It's cute, and it's short, a rare thing in my world but I'm fortunate enough to find it out. Tied Up For Love revolves around the love and chaotic drama of Aiden and Charlotte. Two strangers, on kidnap mishap, and a long way to home.
This novella can be your warm, and cozy Christmas read. And you feel only to read more and more like this.
Honestly, I'm at loss of words to type anything. This is so damn cute and romantic at the same time. The FMC represents the whole book-girlie nation while the MMC is as hard as rock living in reality. They are opposite, he treats people, while she bakes warmth with cakes.
Aiden and Charlotte are my perfect couple who fell for each other in the wrong time but with the right person. And, we shouldn't forget what bought them together, the chaotic kidnap.
The plot is fresh, the pace is breathtaking, the narration is resplendent, and the setting is like a Christmas right. Everything about this novella is just butterflies in the tummy and you shouldn't miss it for the world.
Available in KU already, so run and grab your copy before the Christmas ends, and make your day memorable.
-Aiden. What I absolutely loved about you was how you made sure that Charlie was well cared for when she was in your care. Because going to get her the feminine products and chocolate was just PERFECTION. You were also the perfect grump that I needed in this Novella. In the end though, I wish you would have talked & expressed your feelings for Charlie just a little bit more. But of course, you returned her safe so snaps & claps for you.
-Charlie. I loved that you are YAPPER because SAME. I felt like if I was ever kidnapped, I would just talk as much as you, so TWINIES. Charlie, I am so jealous that you know how to bake because I WISH I knew how to bake. Because if this were real life I would have you baking ALL of the sweet treats for me. I honestly loved everything about you, you were the CUTEST thing ever. No Notes. Chefs Kiss!
-Nora. I LOVED all the bookish references in this book: Making sure if she died, to delete her Kindle history? I have a friend that would do that. Her caring more about her Kindle, than her actual well being? SAME. Her thinking that using a Kindle would save her money? YEA RIGHT. Thus, only buying just SE’s? YES Having an unlimited amount of time to read? SAY LESS.
-You killed this novella! Hopefully there is another one because I am excited to read it!

Review: I have anxiously been waiting for this ARC to hit my inbox and it did not disappoint! The perfect romcom novella with a *dash* of dark romance. A quick read that will have you laughing and swooning. I hope the author revisits Aiden and Charlie because I need so much more of them.
Thank you Naughty Nook PR and Nora Lane for the ARC
When you're asked to fake kidnap a twin, it's important to make sure you get the right one. And "Charlie" is probably a male, right? Unfortunately for Aiden Carter, "Charlie" is Charlotte Bennett, and he has unknowingly actually kidnapped someone. It's a good thing Charlie has read many dark romance novels and is prepared for this moment. Hilarity ensues, and it's clear that Aiden is just as terrible at kidnapping as Charlie is at being kidnapped. But as the two spend time together, they find that being tied up in a kidnapping plot might be the best thing to ever happen to them.
This novella was so cute and hilarious! I read it at the gym, and it made my workout infinitely more pleasant. I was smiling the entire time. The characters are easy to love and root for, and the premise is so funny. It's amazing how invested I became in this novella; the author does a fantastic job of rounding out the characters and the setting so you get a full picture. I am so glad this is going to be a series, because there were many town residents mentioned whom I need to know more about. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would recommend it to any romance reader. I guarantee you will enjoy being tied up for a few hours in this story.

Tied Up for Love is a grumpy x sunshine, mistaken identity, strangers-to-lovers novella featuring a dark romance reader who suddenly finds herself living out the very trope she loves… with her captor. And honestly? It’s adorable chaos.
Overall, this novella was pure fun. Sweet, spicy, self-aware, and perfectly unhinged in the best way. If you love grumpy x sunshine, reader-centered humor, and playful takes on dark romance tropes, this one is an absolute treat.
This novella had me laughing the whole time. The characters feel fun and real, and it never takes itself too seriously in the best way. And Charlie?? Please. Watching her go from full panic mode to “wait… why is my captor kinda hot though?” absolutely sent me. The moment she realizes she’s basically inside a dark romance? I felt that in my soul.
The chemistry between them is 🔥🔥. Every scene together feels like tossing a match into gasoline—there’s this slow build and then suddenly everything is on fire. And once they actually start talking? The banter, the tension, the I shouldn’t want you but I do energy… I was done for.
Honestly, this felt written for readers like us who love dark, feisty romance but also want to laugh and have fun with it. It’s cute, chaotic, and just such a good time. I flew through it and had the biggest smile on my face the entire read.
This novella was F U N from start to finish. The characters are fun and real and had me laughing the whole time. Aiden is an up and coming doctor who is trying to do a favor for a friend, but the favor soon goes a rye. Instead of helping his friend set up a spicy kidnapping scene for the friend’s girlfriend, Aiden accidentally kidnaps the girlfriend’s twin sister. From there Charlie, an avid romance girlie, is dealing with her feelings about getting “kidnapped’ by this handsome/masked stranger. Both parties are having conflicting kidnapper/kidnappee feelings when the reveal of what actually is happening and I was howling. This book was a quick read but is so fun! Congrats Nora on your debut! Thank you for the copy of this book, I can’t wait for my paperback to arrive.
Charlie a sweet Charlie who’s minding her own business gets kidnapped by ex marine Aiden after his best friend Eli tells him to kidnap Charlie (Eli’s girlfriend) for fun And Charlie?! The way she goes from panicked to “wait I’m getting kidnapped but my captor is hot tho” had me laughing I loved how when she was in the car she kept annoying Aiden by telling him all her bookish fantasies. Their chemistry was explosive. Every scene with them together was like watching a match drop into gasoline When they finally start talking.. phew The banter, the tension, the “I shouldn’t want you” energy
Tied Up For Love is a fun, hilarious, strangers to lovers romance! I love Charlie and Aiden's short story! I had so much fun reading this novella! It is funny, captivating, quick, easy read! Charlie is a dark romance reader and she gets "kidnapped" by Aiden. She is having so much fun going through the many tropes during her situation. It took awhile for Aiden to realize he accidentally kidnapped the wrong person. I love this novella! I can't wait to read more by Nora! Thank you Nora and Naughty Nook PR for including me as an ARC reader!
This was fast, flirty, and totally unhinged—in the best way. A mistaken kidnapping, a grumpy ex-Marine, and a sunshine bookworm heroine...I was in from the first page. Charlotte and Aiden’s chemistry ignite the moment he grabs her and the banter keeps it real. It’s a quick read with just enough chaos to satisfy your dark rom-com cravings.
What to expect: - Mistaken identity done hilariously - Grumpy x sunshine tension - Short and surprisingly sweet
Charlie loves dark romance and Aiden the ex marine’s love story was short but was funny and unhinged in the best way. Kept you laughing and makes you smile. The mistaken identity turned love was perfect.
Made you feel like you were there. The way Charlie was thinking when she was taken I couldn’t help but laugh and for her to say those things out loud was comical. Totally loved this story
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 stars! Just finished Tied Up for Love by Nora Lane and OMG — this is a quirky, funny, lighthearted Christmas setting read. I saw @britt recommend this one and I knew I wanted to read it. This book made me cackle - I loved it! There was natural chemistry between Charlie and Aiden and I loved their banter. Charlie rambling in the car, paired with Aiden’s inner monologues were hilarious! Aiden’s thoughts when realized he had kidnapped the wrong twin also made me laugh out loud.
I had the best time reading this book and I would have happily read it if it had been longer also! This is the perfect romcom with a bit of dark romance and I loved it!
Also, how cute are all the items that come with the book from Nora’s website? I’m obsessed 😍
looking for a quick, cute romance book to help you meet your reading goal for the year? look no further than Tied Up for Love by Nora Lane!
this book is the perfect little snack for someone who might be in a reading slump, or is just trying change things up a bit with a witty, fun-filled novella! it’s incredibly easy to fall in love with Charlie & Aiden! and like me, you can beg Nora for more until the end of time 😋
I want to say this is a suggestive little novella, many hints and banter about darker/mafia romance tropes.
Aiden agrees to helping his best friend Eli “kidnap” Claire as part of a fun role play. Instead Aiden grabs her identical twin sister Charlie and the hijinx ensue.
Nora rewards us with a spicy bonus epilogue, but really the inner dialogue of Charlie drives this modern day comedy of errors.
A case of mistaken identity leads to a witty, unique, fast-paced and totally fun strangers-to-lovers, forced proximity romance between a dark romance reader/ baker and her handsome and loveable captor. Such relatable and lovable characters and a humorous and creative plot had me flying through this novella and loving every bit of it! Thanks to the author for the opportunity to arc read 4.5 stars
A quick and charming funny read that had Aiden being asked to kidnap his best friend's girlfriend as part of a romance book roleplay. Unfortunately he kidnaps the wrong sister. Charlie was so sweet and funny as she was going through all the tropes. Aiden was a sweetheart. Quirky, crazy and well written.
This is such a cute novella. It is every unhinged thought a romance reader has in book form and it reads like a conversation with your book bestie. Charlie’s unhinged internal dialogue paired with Aiden questioning all his life choices internally leads to laughs and feet kicking swoon. If you’re looking for a cute cozy rom com, this is it.
Such a cute novella!! Love the mistaken identity and stranger to lover tropes in this book!! Love the way Aiden takes care of Charlie at the diner even though she is his kidnap victim at that time. Relationship Goals!!!!
This was laugh out loud funny! You won’t believe it’s a debut! You can tell Nora Lane is a book girl too, because you’ll see a little of yourself in Charlie. Not to mention whipping up the perfect book boyfriend! I’m still swooning over Aiden!
Tropes: Grumpy/Sunshine Strangers to Lovers Mistaken Identity Forced Proximity
Nora Lane’s Tied Up for Love is the kind of debut that makes you instantly excited for whatever she does next. A funny, fast-paced novella about Charlotte (aka Charlie) is a dark romance reader who gets mistaken for her twin and kidnapped by a broody ex-Marine named Aiden. What follows is chaos, laughs, and sparks that leap off the page.
It’s witty, full of personality, and totally self-aware in the best way. I saw myself in Charlie’s humor and reactions (seriously, same girl, same). And Aiden? Total cinnamon roll teddy bear vibes wrapped in a tough shell.
Huge thanks to Naughty Nook PR and Nora Lane for the ARC — I had an absolute blast reading this!
I enjoyed this read as a dark reader I found this book light hearted, it made me giggle a bit and smile while still having the dark romance themes … there is heat with a grumpy ex-marine and more quiet bookish girly …. A good read I may just have to pull this one out again sometime.
This was such a a cute and fun novella, I loved Charlie and Aiden! Aiden kidnaps Charlie then he realized he kidnapped the wrong person, this book had me laughing. This is totally a must read. Thank you Nora and Naughty Nook PR for this ARC.
