It’s vampires versus humans, and I’m straddling both sides. I’ll either save this world… or ignite its end.
I thought my days of being a homeless orphan were behind me, but here I am. On the run. Hunted. Clinging to my four wicked vampires for dear life. My coven of dastardly lovers is the only thing keeping me sane as the world crumbles around us.
The Five Ministries of Olhav have fallen to three. We’re halfway to freedom yet nowhere close to winning. Aramastun Wyvox, the Night Judge, fills the power vacuum and is more terrifying than any vampire nobleblood before him. He wants my head… and I’m coming for his throne!
Meanwhile, rebellion boils in the Nuhavian underground. Humanity sharpens their swords against the undead who bleed us dry. But the resistance is criminals prowling, flesh-traders exploiting, zealots with new agendas. And through the turmoil, my team makes a discovery that could change everything.
In this war, trust is a luxury we can’t afford. Friends become foes. Enemies become allies. Sacrifices will be made for freedom. I must ask Who will die for this new world we dream of? Will any of us survive this bloody apocalypse we’re about to unleash?
("A Vision of Fangs" comes to its savage conclusion in book Silverblood. This dark fantasy romance is full of violence, brutal situations, seduction, intrigue, and wicked love interests. Please read the trigger warnings.)
The end of an era...or is it? DUN DUN DUN. Either way, this series was so fun to read.
In Silverblood there was a lot of action, a bunch of vampire politics, and, of course, steam. It was a fitting conclusion to the trilogy, but I gotta say that I prefer the first two books to this one by a small margin.
It's really just the pacing, which was still good, but felt a bit slower than in the previous volumes, maybe that's just me though.
My favourite thing was seeing more of Palacia, and witnessing her getting her own, very deserved, happy ending. It totally wasn't what I thought would happen, or rather WHO it happened with, but if my girl is happy, then I'm happy.
We did get to see her "in action" with one of our other fav characters as kind of a parting gift. I love that scene, because it shows that KC knows their readers. I'm sure we all wanted that to happen and would've been sad if it didn't, especially after those scenes in book two.
My second fav thing, was the Silverblood tincture and all the scenes that came with it.
There was that one scene (you know which one) where it seemed like all hope was lost for a certain character, and then it all turned out okay. I just want Sephania to know that I never doubted it would work, I'm a true believer!!
I love reading about alchemy, so the "production" aspects of the tincture were so fascinating to me, as were the effects of the perfected formula. More of that in the future KC, please and thank you!!
My third favourite thing, was the relationship development between Seph and her mates.
Someone will probably be like, what do you mean third fav, that's the best part, and I see where you're coming from, but also, I'm allowed to favour Palacia over everyone else mmkay.
Anything that was slightly strained before got fixed, but it wasn't super easy, so it felt realistic, and it made their times together so much sweeter.
Now that I'm done, I can say with certainty that Lukain still is, and forever will be, number one. That's just how it is, I don't make the rules!!
Skar may have shifted to a permanent number two position, with Garro coming in third and Vallan staying fourth. But I love them all, I do.
I hope we'll get to see these characters again at some point, mayhaps in a crossover if not their own book? And KC, please keep writing these chonkers, I love your worlds so much.
*Thank you to the amazing author for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review*
The end to the Vision of Fangs series totally fits this authors original writing style. She doesn’t try to make war into a heroic endeavour in Silverblood, but shows how messy and chaotic things can become. There are no clear lines between good and bad anymore when the stakes are high, and nobody can say they reach the end without betrayal or choosing the morally grey option. It results in a more realistic view on battles being fought, but it also results in some mixed feelings towards the main characters. Still, in a way it makes them more relatable compared to so many other fictional characters. Because, let’s be honest: even our real heroes from the past all hide a few skeletons in their closets. And this author chooses to show them out in the open instead of keeping them hidden.
Honestly, this series is the one I loved the most of every book I’ve read from this author’s hand. The story truly fascinated me from start to finish, and I’m curious to find out what the future will bring. The world was dark and intriguing, and the same can be said about the characters within, making it into an original series to read. I hope more readers will pick it up and be as fascinated as I was.
Thank you deeply to the author for sharing an ARC of this book with me !!!
“The vampires are hot on out trail”
As for the first two books in this trilogy, this one was entertaining, hella spicy, addicting and absolutely thrilling. We finally forgive out the answers we had been looking forward to for so long, and alongside it, we have constant action and fighting sequences that will leave your jaw on the floor. And then you’ll get spice … literal, bone deep, strong and passionate spice … with multiple mates. I’ll keep my favourite of them to myself. But the truth is … they are all amazing, and absolutely addicting !!!! I was missing this world and I was kissing these characters and right when I thought I had forgotten about them, the author dropped this on me !!! I can’t wait for this book to be out and to share it with everyone else !!!
“If I have to be a monster to guarantee your safety, little temptress, I’ll gladly become the worst you’ve ever seen”
