Ahh, I see. Tatsuki Fujimoto was so in love with Fami that he had to rethink her role in the series. Understandable. Btw, what do you think strongest devil hunter Kishibe is doing while the world is literally on fire? I mean, I hope he has a nice vacation or something, but where is he? (I need him.)
3.5 stars out of 5 Love love seeing more of my favs from part 2 of this series, but I could do without certain things. I am still a little confused what's going on if I'm being honest, this volume was very digestable but some stuff from the past still isn't clicking.
i think the aging devil arc was very cool and had some very interesting developments and ideas. in this volume i think denji was happy for like... half a chapter so happier than most chainsaw man volumes. the ideas chainsaw man brings up are so interesting and honestly most of the fans of manga dont know what fujimoto is trying to say. DENJI IS NOT A GOONER STOP CALLING HIM THAT
First of all, you could never make me hate Yoshida
Second, what the fuck was that shit? Is it my fault that I keep falling for Fujimoto's antics? Nothing is sacred in this series, so why in the world would I take his word when he says things? That might be a skill issue on my part tbh

I feel like the character relationships are spiraling these last couple of chapters and I don't know where the story is going to go at all... I have faith in Fujimoto but I am losing some interest.
I can’t help but still like Asa and Yoru especially this weird friendship with Denji they have even though there’s some manipulation going on. I hope that Denji can find the blood devil too whenever that happens. So it also turns out that the Famj we knew is the death devil. I’m curious who is this chainsaw man variant that has a contract with the justice devil?

Volume 21 (starts here at Chapter 187 up to Chapter 198)
read Chainsaw Man Chapter 187 (1st out of 12 chapters=1/12=8.30%) on Shōnen Jump and MangaPlus Volume 21 on December 17, 2024 - This is a gruesome chapter with all the barfing and the belching. 😫🤮🤢 Pochita's about to get stomped if not for the pull trigger. What Devil will Denji even barf this time? 😵😩 I am too scared to know. Also, this chapter is a little bit hard to make out because of the fights.
read Chainsaw Man Chapter 188 (2nd out of 12 chapters=2/12=16.7%) on Shōnen Jump and MangaPlus Volume 21 on Friday, January 3, 2025 and Monday, January 6, 2025 - Yoshida said it soooo casually to Denji, "Can I put my hand inside your mouth?" 🤣 Tatsuki Fujimoto never fails to make a comeback. Denji, Asa, and Yoshida as a team ---- we're on.... 🤩 Also, I like how Asa just commands Yoshida, "Apologize!" 😁 Yup, that's Asa for you.
read Chainsaw Man Chapter 189 (3rd out of 12 chapters=3/12=25%) on Shōnen Jump and MangaPlus Volume 21 on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 - The battle rages on in Denji’s mouth. There’s vomit and fight techniques but everything occurs within Denji’s mouth range. 😳 And, there are two Fumikos now. I don't know what to think of this chapter except that Yoru does not like aging. 🤣 She values youth as much as the next person. And, Yoshida is bringing his octopus game!! 🤣🐙
read Chainsaw Man Chapter 190 (4th out of 12 chapters=4/12=33.33%) on Shōnen Jump and MangaPlus Volume 21 on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 - Aging Devil accepted the contract in a heartbeat as long as he doesn't get to be with Denji in the forest. That panel with the gang ordering coffee and tea and chocolate cakes so casually, with Fumiko and Fami in there no less and chaos ensuing outside, is hilarious. 🤣 What a bewildering scene! 🤣
read Chainsaw Man Chapter 191 (5th out of 12 chapters=5/12=41.70%) on Shōnen Jump and MangaPlus Volume 21 on Thursday, January 23, 2025 - Denji was just eating his hand at the behest of Yoru. And Yoru is having the time of her life revealing to the gang of her true identity: she's the War Devil. The way that she splatters that strawberry cake to Yoshida is hilarious. 🍓🎂 And Fami is just speechless at that table. 😂
read Chainsaw Man Chapter 192 (6th out of 12 chapters=6/12=50%) on Shōnen Jump and MangaPlus Volume 21 on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 - Yoru is clearly having fun and hungry with Denji. This is not good. Denji's been used as a toy, as a dog, and now as a chair by Yoru. How she chopped that restaurant manager is vile!! 🤢🤮 And, they both eat his flesh remains... 😣 Ewww... Just because they want frozen pot stickers... 😋
read Chainsaw Man Chapter 193 (7th out of 12 chapters=7/12=58.30%) on Shōnen Jump and MangaPlus Volume 21 on Tuesday, February 12, 2025 - Denji's tears are as human as ever. He urgently nods to her sexual offering. But, the tradeoff is clearly going to destroy Denji: he must defeat the Death Devil in order to acquire what he wants from Yoru. Yoru is a master manipulator. She knows how his brain runs and grabs her chance to seduce him.
read Chainsaw Man Chapter 194 (8th out of 12 chapters=8/12=66.70%) on Shōnen Jump and MangaPlus Volume 21 on Sunday, March 2, 2025 - Denji's hanging out with the most dangerous girl. Yoru is having fun banging buildings with her gun finger. And, Denji is just eating pot stickers made from the guys of the deceased restaurant manager. This series couldn't get any weirder. 🤣😂 But, I am glad that Asa has returned! 😄
read Chainsaw Man Chapter 195 (9th out of 12 chapters=9/12=75%) on Shōnen Jump and MangaPlus Volume 21 on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 - That transfer student is clearly the Death Devil. Asa's tears are real. 😖 I was surprised she was about to shoot herself!!! This is bad. Denji told Asa: shoot that building. Let's have fun before I murder everyone here. I like the consolation he gave her: nobody is mentally prepared to die.
read Chainsaw Man Chapter 196 (10th out of 12 chapters=10/12=83.30%) on Shōnen Jump and MangaPlus Volume 21 on Tuesday, March 30, 2025 - A new Chainsaw Man devil? With a skull on its chainsaw and chainsaw hands, I am looking at a new devil. The design has a lot of gooey brain mashup on its body. It clearly is a result of the fear of Chainsaw Man. That female Death Devil is crushing ants. She has lost it after the scolding.
read Chainsaw Man Chapter 197 (11th out of 12 chapters=11/12=91.70%) on Shōnen Jump and MangaPlus Volume 21 on Tuesday, March 30, 2025 - She got decapitated twice and needed to suck off the life force of the classmate / schoolboy. I thought Death Devil would be stronger but seeing we have her chopped up once and decapitated tells the readers she is weak. But, the flesh Chainsaw Man did confirm that the Justice Devil is inside him.
read Chainsaw Man Chapter 198 (12 out of 12 chapters=12/12=100%) on Shōnen Jump and MangaPlus Volume 21 on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025 - This is the biggest twist in the Chainsaw Man Series. We have been duped since Volume 14. She committed identity theft so she can steal the real Fami's identity. And here we are at Volume 21: we are moving at breakneck speed on this series. And Death Devil has no organs. Why does she have no organs?

thank you fujimoto for giving me another cute girl failure
this volume was absolutely insane. how did he manage to fit so many different events, characters and plot lines in one volume??? i can't believe we wrapped up the age devil arc, then had lots of denji with yoru and asa content (but also finally yoshida content for the first time in ages) and then had the introduction of a new character followed by the plot twist of the year. the volume had me confused at times and had some weird pacing/time cuts from time to time, but it was so peak fujimoto that i loved it. i've thrown logic out the window and decided to let myself get surprised by whatever he's cooking again and i can't wait to see where it will take me. i feel like next volume might be a 5 star read after this incredible set up. lastly, the cover for this volume is gorgeous!
also i just want to say that i really appreciated that panel where denji put a blanket on yoru and the one where he expressed that he was glad that someone still liked him. even amidst all the sa and questionable panels, denji stays a young boy looking to be loved.

Honestly, this volume is amazing just to build up to that final panel alone. Incredible use of diverting expectations and surprising the reader. I wish there was more context to be had and more talking between Denji and Asa. I know that they don't talk and we can't really get in depth stuff from them, thats the whole point, but it still would be such a benefit considering most people talking about this stuff seem really confused at this point. I'm kinda just along from the ride as well, but I do also enjoy the desperate vibes going on. We gotta keep on living and all that jazz. Even if we think that things are still going to be fucked, as Chainsaw Man says in this chapter, we still have "hope."
Not as strong as the last few, partially because the second half is mostly setup, but the Asaden stuff here makes me so emo :'( There's just something so striking about the shock of seeing Asa and Denji interact face to face without any more secrets after so long spent with one or the other hiding behind a mask. It hits.
The rest is good! The conclusion Aging Devil fight is fun and I like the Fami stuff (the twist worked a lot better for me this time around), but compared to the highs of the first half of the Aging Devil stuff, this feels like a slower interstitial volume without quite as much substance as the last.
The twist?! Dang. Also how come I don’t see people noticing the similarities between Yoru and Makima? Yes their goals are completely different ( Makima wanting to use Chainsaw man’s power to create a world without pain, starvation , in general death this “Perfect world” —- while War devil just wants to erase this death to create a battlefield of endless destruction and fear) Uh ok, maybe they are not that similar. But it really surprised me seeing Yoru with the same hairstyle as Makima, and her promise to Denji
