White Ravens

Rate this book
Official Cover by Jay Aheer of Simply Defined Art coming in March 2026
Subject to Earlier Release

They are the program’s failure who should’ve never left the lab alive.

Once leaders of rival gangs on Chicago’s south and west sides, Damien Calloway and Gage Harrington are pulled from their prison cells and promised a second chance to be reborn as Frost and Shade, the newest weapons in the Raven Program.

But as the science collapses, the transformation fails, leaving their enhancements unstable, and their conditioning incomplete.
Declared defective, they’re locked away in White Sector 30, to await elimination.
When two warriors clad in green storm the facility, the Whites don’t see rescuers, they see executioners, and with raw skill and desperation, they seize their freedom.

Now Frost and Shade are two enemies forced together—hostile, untrusting, and on the run.
One a phantom of cold fury and the other a phenomenon who sees the world in all white, guided only by instinct and the voice of the man who had once vowed to kill him.
Their bond may be shaky, but their coordination is terrifying.

The Whites were never meant to exist...now they’re the ghosts haunting the organization that failed them.

The last in the series of the Ravens from Ms. A.E. Via, the White Ravens. As you have now become familiar, if you follow the series, the Ravens is a program that enhances the body of a person in order to become the perfect soldier. Well, it was supposed to be that way until something went very wrong with the program, it was abused and misused by those who were supposed to implement it. So the already existing Ravens, the original pair, Ex and Meridian, the Black Ravens started saving the rest of those captured and “maimed” in a way because the experiments went sideways. We now have the Blacks, Browns, Greens and the last pair, the Whites.

Oscar “Scar” Calloway and Gage Harrington belonged to opposing gangs in Chicago. But I think Gage was never an official member of a gang, he was just affiliated in a way because of where he lived. But Scar was the leader of a very notorious gang. He was feared. Cold and brutal. But unbeknownst to Gage, Scar has always been attracted to him, but he was the total opposite of Scar, where Scar is feared and brutal, Gage was a man of faith, kindness, discipline and compassion.

When the experiments started to feel really wrong and plans of terminating them were whispered, Scar and Gage started planning to escape but the rest of the Ravens got to them first and burn down the facility they were held in. Scar and Gage escaped but then Scar left Gage to find his own way. So Gage called his best friend to come get him. But the rest of the Ravens found them and brought them to the new headquarters. It took some convincing but both Scar and Gage rejoin the program but this time under a new management and a promise that they will never be experimented on again but instead their abilities will be enhanced through training and practice. Scar trained under the Blacks, specifically Meridian and Gage will be trained by the Greens and some specialists because he has to relearn how to navigate life as a blind person.

When Scar confess how he feels about Gage, you will realize that the reason why he was cruel to Gage in the past was because he felt unworthy of Gage, even as an acquaintance and he was attracted to Gage even back then but he didn’t want to bring evil into Gage’s life. But now that they have been given the chance to get to know each other again, they realize that there is something worth saving in them, something that is worth another chance. Scar has turned his life around and is trying to be worthy of Gage.

I love all the Ravens but the Greens and the Whites have special places in my heart. I love their back stories and I love how they’ve come together. Ms. Adrienne Via, you are an amazing writer, you have created these characters who are imperfect but are so worthy to be loved and cherished. The world you have created with the Ravens is beautiful and what these Ravens can do is something that is very much needed in the world, we all wish. Thank you so much for these wonderful books and characters and Congratulations! I am really looking forward to the crossover that is coming.

After briefly meeting the White Ravens in the prior book, I was eager to learn more about them, and Gage and Scar's story did not disappoint! Their journey began in the aftermath of their escape from the old facility, and that left each man to fend for themselves. I can only imagine how terrifying it was to be hunted by the other Raven pairs when Scar and Gage didn't know where their loyalties lay. I could barely tear myself away from the twists and turns of their return to HQ, and it was exciting to see their reaction to the changes. Gage was more open to the new facility than Scar, but each man was convinced to stay by their brotherhood's mission. It didn't hurt to be equipped with all new gear, treated with utmost respect, and sent to train with other deadly warriors. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Scar and Gage integrate into the new Ravens organization, and it was thrilling to see them hone their minds and bodies into precise weapons. Along the way, the vibes between Scar and Gage shifted from tolerance to barely contained lust to head over heels in love. Scar had been interested in Gage back on the streets of Chicago, but seeing his man as a badass warrior heated his blood even further. I especially enjoyed their possessive energy, the slow burn of physical intimacy that fed their desires without crossing the lines of Gage's faith. There's something extra sexy about a man who will hold back his wants for you, and that's exactly the level of devotion Scar had for Gage. When it was time for their first mission, I knew they'd make a powerful duo, and sure enough they took their place with the other Ravens without flinching. Gage and Scar's partnership couldn't have been stronger going into the last several chapters, and that left nothing but for me to have fun watching them go out with a bang and get ready for an epic series crossover that I'm itching to get my hands on!

When the Black, Brown and Green Ravens destroyed the Ravens Assassins organization building and the director who had corrupted it with his greed, they freed two more Ravens that no one knew about. Dressed all in white and moving in a coordinated dance, the Whites stole the helicopter meant to take the Greens to freedom, almost killing themselves before they figured out how to fly it far enough away from the collapsing building. Scar left blind Gage with a cell phone in a barn in North Carolina and headed back to Chicago as fast as the bus would carry him. Gage managed to put a call through to his best friend Roz who drove him back to Chicago.
Both men thought the two who released them were killers when they stole their helicopter. But the Ravens were not about to let two of their own die back in the Chicago gangs and showed up to pull them out again. The Ravens now have a new headquarters in DC and a new Director in Jo, the Brown’s previous handler. The Ravens call the shots, not nameless suits. And they were all in on protecting and teaching the Whites to learn work with what had been forced on them, including each other.
The Blacks, Browns and Greens each had their own story, but it was all building to this release, the six men working together to form a new organization with its rightful purpose. Working together to bring Scar and Gage into their fold as productive members. A.E. has truly outdone herself with book 3 in the Raven's series. We’ve all been anticipating the Whites, and it did not disappoint. The surprise ending really did it for me though. Things are going to get crazy and I can’t wait.

Another team was added and it still managed to wrap up any dangling story lines.

The White Ravens were brought in much like the Brown Ravens. Kidnapped, experimented on, basically tortured. The project imploded (and exploded) and The Whites thought they would go back to what they knew. Gangs in Chicago. Wrong. The only safe place is back in the hell they escaped.

There The Black Ravens, The Green Ravens and The Brown Ravens take them under their collective wings. (sorry, I know, bad pun) They teach then, nurture them and even rib them like the brothers they want them to be.

As with the three other teams, The Whites have amazing chemistry together. Both in and out of the bedroom. Scar fought his attraction to Saint for years. Because of his upbringing, Saint had different goals. But ultimately, Scar respected Saint enough to give him exactly what he wanted and needed.

As always I felt like I was watching an action movie/ romance movie hybrid. AE Via can write a fight scene with the best of them.

I LOVED that Saint's best friend was rolled right into the Ravens program as Saint's handler. It was just so perfect. Giving him that tether to his world before all of this happened.

Even though this series is complete, we are teased with the Ravens meeting up with and helping God and Day in the future.

Ravens Going Out With A Bang!

What a way to close out the Ravens arc! This all action series following the missions of the super assassins comes to a very satisfying conclusion as the Black, Green, Brown Ravens are joined by Scar and Gage: the White Ravens. Admittedly, it was not an easy move for the guys to trust enough to immerse themselves into the Ravens environment but despite their differences, it absolutely feels right. And that's not just the differences between them and the other Ravens, but also between each other as men. Scar and Gage may have found themselves on the same path but they came from very different backgrounds. I love how this angle was written with the acceptance and found family themes just getting stronger as the story progresses.

No spoilers for the plot but it just hit all the right notes for me, serving as a great action-packed backdrop to all the relationship building - both the super sweet romance between Gage And Scar and the brotherhood with the rest of the Ravens and all the support crew as a close knit unit, both whilst operating and when they're off the clock. And my goodness what a way to end...makes a person think there's something truly special lined up for the author's next book. I cannot wait!! All the stars!!

I'm glad we got to jump back into this world and finally learn more about the white ravens. There were lots of parts I liked, including the ending with these guys. Scar and Gage were definitely opposites but they fit together so well in the end. I really enjoyed seeing so much of the other couples in this book and getting all of their perspectives. I also liked that we saw more of these two's pasts and how they needed to leave that behind. A few little niggles for me which stopped it being 5 stars: why didn't Scar get a code name like everyone else? Also, I wish there had been a bit more of Scar and Gage as an actual fighting team. I did feel they were united but they lacked that same dynamic that the other groups had in combat and instead it felt a bit like Gage was solo and Scar joined the blacks. I also wasn't as clear about what modifications the pair actually had (or at least it wasn't as clear as it was with previous couples). Did I enjoy the story though? Yes. Secondary characters were all great, there were a few bits I didn't see coming and I'm pleased with the family dynamic they all had together too. Overall, a good end to the series and I look forward to seeing all of these guys again crossover stories!

So so sorry The Ravens series is over. I really adored it. But if it had to be over this was the way to do it and keep me happy. All the teams in all their glory were there! In a new facility that I would love to walk through even once. And all the back up crews with their specialties and a new director!
And The White Ravens, at the end of the Green Ravens as the Whites were making their escape from the destruction of the old building all I knew was one man was blind and the other was giving him directions. Well, Gage and Scar to my delight were everything I hoped for.
Gage was a very different MC from the rest " But one thing he knew for certain...he would never lose his Christianity. The Ravens had stolen his sight and forced him into darkness, but he refused to live there...He would always choose the light."
They became a team slowly. " What his partner ignited inside him was only the beginning of who and what they were going to be to each other."
It's a great last journey for all the Ravens.

I’ll be honest, at this point, I’ll read absolutely anything A.E. Via writes. There’s just something about her storytelling style that pulls me in every single time.

White Ravens felt a little different from the rest of the series, and I’m still not entirely sure how I feel about that, but in a good way. It leans more into the emotional bonds and the sense of family than the high-stakes intensity I’ve come to expect from the series.

Gage and Scar were a mix for me. I enjoyed their chemistry and the way their connection developed, but I have to admit that at times their behavior felt a bit immature. It didn’t ruin the story for me, but it did pull me out of the moment here and there.

That said, what really worked for me was the overall vibe of the book. The brotherhood, the loyalty, the found family aspects, that’s what stayed with me the most after finishing the book.
It may not be my favorite in the series, but it was still a solid read, and a fitting way to wrap things up. And with that ending, I can't wait to see what God has in store for the Ravens.

What an ending to this series. AE never fails. I absolutely loved everything about this book. The seamless way she had Scar and Gage start off hating each other to loving each other boggles my brain. Its so natural and fluid. I also liked how much emotion was in this book. You can feel the anger, the possessiveness, the hurt, and the happy just drip off the page.

I was definitely curious how Gage was going to play out being blind. Honestly it was utter genius on AEs part. IYKYK.

I will say that this trilogy as a whole was outstanding. I would highly recommend reading it in order. As they all show up in this one. Quite alot tbh.

I loved Meridian in this one. Sharing his knowledge and still be so him. I can honestly say I've had a few chuckles in here.

By the end I was so thrilled, content, happy and everything wrapped up so nicely it didnt hurt to say goodbye for now to these men. (epilogue will tell ya ;))

All in all highly highly recommend.

What a fantastic ending to such a great series. All the Ravens are finally home and flying together. Each man has a specialized skill set that complements his brothers. Gage is such a special character and his story so touching. He’s a deadly asset with a heart of gold. The nod to a Christian man really connected with me on a personal level. Gage’s character is a wonderful example of what true Christianity is…a flawed being in need of forgiveness. His love and mercy on even those that commit the most heinous crimes show the true love of Christ. Scar is rough around the edges but he certainly redeems himself as he learns and grows throughout their story. I love his relationship with Meridian. Two vicious men who show a softer side with those they love. All the Ravens hold a place in my crime fighter loving heart. Hate to see the series end but it certainly won’t be the last time we hear from these guys.

Scar is the king of his hood until he isn't. Gage finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time and it changes his life drastically. But when the become more than they were can they accept all that brings?
White Raven is the latest in the Ravens series by A.E. Via. I found myself thoroughly enjoying this inside view of not only Gage and Scar but also all of the Ravens. They have dealt with the corruption within the organization but they still have a mission. And with Scar and Gage they become a family. I loved seeing the men gel together as a group. They are doing more the train the latest Ravens. They are becoming something much stronger. The bonds they shared is becoming tighter and more substantial. I laughed as these men became more than their training, more than their honor. They became family and I loved seeing the journey Ms. Via took them on to get there.

Better than expected

I'll be completely honest and say I got this book only to say I finished the series because the books in this have been hit or miss

Loved the Black ravens, the Green ravens started well then collapsed into martial arts orders from nowhere, then the Brown came in and redeemed themselves a bit so I had no idea what to expect from this

Happy to say that whatever made The Black Raven book good was present in this.

I enjoyed the story (of course with belief highly suspended as advised by the author lol) and had myself a great time. Although I wish we'd discovered what happened to the guy who wanted to do the unspeakable to one of the MCs....

Nonetheless, I Will recommend this for fans of this series(it will NOT do well as a standalone) . If you had been worried about reading this because of the previous books, don't be.

I honestly don’t think A.E. Via can write a bad book. Every single book I’ve read from her has been a favorite of mine and this series was no different.

I’m sad that the series is over but so satisfied with the ending. Scar and Gage were so much more than I was expecting. The transition from enemies to lovers was so smooth and well done.

I can only imagine the ravens joining God’s team! It makes me giddy just to think about it because we all know how amazing God’s team is and the ravens are a force to be reckoned with.

Loved seeing cameos from the previous books. Ex and Meridian are still a favorite of mine and having them in this book made me so happy.

Definitely a great read and I highly recommend it. Can’t wait to see what A.E. has in store for us. I know that whatever it is, it’s gonna be epic!

This book fit in so well with the series. I like how Scar and Gage knew each other from the block. So, there was already history for them to build on. I absolutely love Gage and how he was able to build onto his conviction and have confidence he could be a Raven. Scar had to choose how he was going to fit into Gage’s life and see how much stronger Gage had gotten. I loved how all the Ravens were included in this story and it didn’t take away from their story. Meredian was the right mentor for Scar and The Green’s were for Gage. As always there was humor and some laugh out loud moments. They had to fight for their happy ever after and came out stronger and better. I wish this series could go on forever!

Picks off after book 2, but starts off with Ex and Meridian trying to find more information about the White Ravens that escaped. Since they escaped, they're on their own and don't know that the other Raven teams coming after them just want to help.

Loved seeing cameos of our previous couples. Gage and Scar's backgrounds are ex-cons, unlike the background of the Black and Brown ravens who were ex-military. Still, they survived the experiments and now their skills are enhanced by the animal abilities, which make them just as formidable as the other two teams.

I loved all the mystery and suspense of this series. Even though it focuses heavily on that, we get our sprinkling of romance while Gage and Scar learn to depend on each other. Love this series so much!

I absolutely loved everything about this book and the whole series! This was a very different and interesting book, the white ravens start hating each other and later you can feel the love and possessiveness, I like how their story develops.

I would definitely recommend reading this series in order as each book shows each pair of ravens and their respective personalities and how they get to know and interact with each other, I loved to see each one of them working together and action scenes were great.

I loved Ex and Meridian these are my favorites! I’m so sad to say goodbye to this characters, but this book has everything wrapped, I definitely recommend this whole series!!

I just love A.E. Via's books and I highly anticipated the White Ravens. Her characters are captivating and you wish to keep them with you. Ever since the Black Ravens Ex and Meridian made their entrance in the Nothing Special series I was hooked. Of all the Ravens they are my favourite but Scar and Gage are hot on their heels. The story wouldn't let me go and I hated putting the book down. I'm sad to see the series end but it's a great ending nonetheless. I hope you enjoy reading the story as much as I did.

Wonderful story that needs a better proofreader

As much as I love the world of the Ravens, and the characters that live there, I do get fed up with the constant mistakes. Whoever proofreads this author's work does a terrible job, and all their books are the same. Tons of typos, missing words, bad grammar, bad or missing punctuation. I end up feeling quite used, as a reader, that the author is happy to ask for money without providing a finished product that isn't full of errors.

Bittersweet ending to this series

This was a wonderful conclusion to this series that has had me in a grip since the first book.
All the Ravens have flown home to roost and bring in two more to the flock.
Scar and Gage are complete opposites, both equally deadly, but Scar is brusqe and rough around the edges while Gage relies on his faith to guide him.
I loved seeing their vulnerability with each other.

Loved this author stories.

I have loved this series and all the characters. All these Ravens have been through so much and had so much done to their bodies. Each team has absorbed a lot to get to where they are. I took one star away because this book didn’t go back and explain the escape. I read all the books but I would have loved to catch up on what animals they were injected with. Ready for all the Ravens to join God and his team.

What I have been waiting for

I have been a fan of this series for years from GOD series to the Ravens and I can’t wait to see what’s next. Can you imagine what these two formidable teams will get into next. The white ravens were amazing. When they introduced the seeing impaired church going Gage with bad boy Scar who used to run the block I knew that two would have been my favorite. And they didn’t disappoint

okay ending for the series

This one wasn’t as good as the others in the series, imo. The story was just ok, good but not great. Honestly, it’s a bit of a letdown when I was champing at the bit for this installment for so long. Also, the story may not feel rushed, but the execution does. It desperately needs a proofreader for all the small errors throughout. When I reread the series again, I probably will skip this one. I’m disappointed.

White Ravens Book Three

A.E. Via is one of my favorite authors who brings so much to the table when reading her books. Another great story that allows one to believe in heroes who defend the world from the monsters. I recommend this book and all others authored by A.E. Via. Looking forward to the next adventure in this series.

The conclusion of the Ravens saga, this book picks up from where the last book ended. With the Whites having escaped the old facility, they are on the run from the other Ravens as they try to reclaim what they lost.
Led by Meridian the Ravens are on a mission to bring the Whites home to their brothers, where they belong.

Told on POVs this is a great conclusion of the Ravens. Scar and Gage work hard to rebuild themselves once home with the Ravens and find in each other solace and love. We get action, passion and glimpses of what the future can be like for Ravens. I loved the teaser at the end.
I’m excited for what’s coming next.
