With a lifetime of friendship, now, they’re racing toward something far more dangerous...love.
Sebastien was made for distance. Nathan was built for speed. Back in school, they were an unbeatable duo, until life and ambition pulled them in different directions. Now, years later, they’re both back in London, struggling with the end of their athletic careers, uncertain futures post-uni, and feelings they’ve never fully outrun.
When Seb ropes Nathan into training with him, their old rhythm returns. But so does the heat, lingering touches, long glances, and an undeniable tension that’s always simmered just beneath the surface.
As friendship blurs into something deeper, they finally admit what may have always been there. But Nathan's new job, a few hundred miles away, could change everything.
Can their love survive the distance, or was it always meant to be temporary?
This standalone prequel novella to Your Pace or Mine is a short, spicy, friends-to-lovers romance about finding yourself, and the risks we can take when we have somewhere soft to land.
One hero, Sebastian, breaks up with his bf Darian (MC of full book 1) the NIGHT BEFORE he comes home and all he's thinking about is how, growing up and forever, he's always had a major crush/hero worship for the boy next door, Nathan.
Then, we find out that when Seb thought he could never have Nathan...the boy he wanted so much all the time growing up...he dated NATHAN'S SISTER for a while. Which fizzled out, no big. But.
Eww. That's just...No. Crushing on the brother, and you date the sister? Gross. I cannot root for them to get together.
THEN we find out Nathan's wanted Seb all along and someone warned him off...and the dating his sister thing isn't even on his radar? Like he didn't even care? WTF?
Next door neighbors and good friends since childhood, Sebastian and Nathan are finished college and home again, both are also athletically inclined and both recovering from injures. These two rather charismatic young men give us a wonderfully enjoyable tale, a very sweet read.
I enjoyed this story so much! Sebastien was one of my favorite side characters from Your Pace Or Mine so I knew I had to read his story! I loved this friends to lovers romance, it was sweet and heartwarming! I had all the warm and fuzzies!
Kim does it again! I adored this spin off from Your Pace or Mine? And it was fun to revisit the characters and get to know them and the story more deeply. The banter, the spice, and the loveable, angsty characters are the perfect mix for me.
Soft Landings is a lovely queer romance with lots of emotions. Heartbreak, rekindled love, forgiveness and moving on are all themes running throughout this love story. Enjoyable read.
A childhood friends, unrequited love romance set in London. Very English, very sweet, very satisfying story. Runners and next door neighbours Sebastien and Nathan are both back living in their childhood homes after years away at university. Falling back into their friendship, running together, they find more than either of them expected but so desperately wanted. This was a charming and easy read, long enough at just over a hundred pages to do them justice, and sets up the Running For The Romance series at the same time. Darius, who appears here, is one of the MCs in the first book of the series, Your Pace Or Mine, which is my next read. It sounds good, an opposites attract, rich boy/poor boy, fake dating story and I have high hopes after enjoying this one so much.
