2.5/3⭐️ (can’t decide)

Wow. Ummm. I wanted to like this book because Reilly and I are friends on TikTok. But I just could not. I started liking it at about 90% :/ that’s why it’s 3 stars because it did make me emotional, but for a while I was really struggling to get through it. Extremely repetitive, like everythinggggg is repetitive. Events, dialogue, even specific words. And Kacey, oh my gosh, ANNOYING. She’s the one that left but she blames Sawyer for EVERYTHING. And when she found the ring she demands that he tells her who it’s for? Saying she deserves to know? No you don’t girl, you left him. She expected Sawyer to do everything, i genuinely don’t know what she did for the relationship at all. Sawyer, I think he was cute and very romantic, but he had no personality what so ever. The only thing about him is that, is only ever Kasey. That’s it. I honestly wish there was more romance and also other stuff going on. But 75% of the book was Kacey talking to her friend about Sawyer and Sawyer talking to his brother about Kacey.
I think this was good for a debut novel. But it was not my favorite. Oh, and I did like that it was no spice

If you want a feel good, cozy read, this one's for you! I loved the author's voice; the way she describes smells and sights is very beautiful. The setting sounded so magical that I felt like I was there in the story and I was rooting for Kacey to fall in love with the town, because I sure did!
There was much yearning, which I always appreciate. However the MMC (Sawyer) thought/brooded about Kacey like 24/7 and had literally no other worries plaguing his mind, so I thought his life/personality could have been a bit more developed.
Overall, I liked it!

DNF. I made it to chapter 11, but I got bored. It was very slow moving and rather repetitive.

It looks wholesome and clean, and there were some pretty descriptions.

Almost Yours was a cute wholesome story! It’s been a minute since I’ve read a closed door romance and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. I fell in love with the cozy small town. Reilly knows how to write very descriptive scenes! I honestly would love to be apart of this town. It gave me Hallmark movie vibes in the best way and definitely reminded me of Gilmore Girls. If you are looking for a cute and cozy autumn read I highly recommend!

Now the only reason why this wasn’t a 5 star read for me was because I felt like there was a lot of back and forth between the FMC and MMC around the 30% mark and I felt it dragged on a bit. But I adored both Kacey and Sawyers story and how it came to be. The ending closed their story beautifully. Now I cannot wait for Colt and Julia’s story I sensed something was there the whole time I was reading!

Thank you so much Reilly for sending me an e-arc of your beautiful book and giving me the opportunity to review it for my honest opinion. Can’t wait for your release day!

Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC!

Small town, second chance romance featuring Kacey and Sawyer.

I love a good small town romance; the setting is always fun and there’s usually some element of friendship as well. This followed that script!

I struggled with how repetitive this book was, Kacey just kept saying she needed to ‘escape the small town’ over and over and Sawyers ONLY thoughts were about Kacey.

I didn’t get any sense of personality from the two of them, just the repetitive thoughts. It felt like the same conversation happened 50x. I also didn’t know Kacey’s dream of publishing until the end ? It seemed like there should’ve been some mention of that prior to the near end of the book.

The pacing felt strange especially at the end; things moved SO quickly after the 80% mark.

Again, thank you Reilly for sending me a copy!

I enjoyed this book a lot! It was a cute, small town, hallmark type vibe book! I did appreciate Kacey having a friend to be able to bring her stories up to on what happened. I loved the way it was written, I felt like I was falling in love with the cozy small town just as she was. Reading this as the weather was getting chilly was such a great fall book. Definitely recommend if you love a good yearning MMC and hallmark small town autumn feel.

I do think it would have been nice for Sawyer to have other thoughts or complexity to live other than Kacey. I do wish it was told in the beginning when she was leaving to go to the city on wha she was doing there to pursue or her job. Also love the vibes between Colt and Julia throughout!

Thank you so much Riley for sending me this Arc book and being able to share my thoughts and feelings about it! So excited for others to read it!

Kace is the girl who is shy, reserved and a little bit of an outcast in her hometown. The one who dreams of getting out and moving on to bigger and better things.
However she is pulled back into her home town when her dad needs help with the store. And right there waiting for her is the past and everything she ran from. Including Sawyer, the boy she left ten years ago.

Aside from Sawyer and Kacey getting their second chance, Julia and Kasey develop a friendship in this book which is like no other in my opinion. Julia is who Kacey opens up to and who ultimately gets Kacey to fall in love with her hometown again. I think the girl duo in this book is a huge selling point for me.

Sawyer is a simple man in a small town, the very classic type who has no worries other than his girl. I would have liked a little more development in him other than just Kacey but overall this is a cute little hallmark vibe book where the girls comes back and realized the town wasn't the issue but just the circumstances of that time period.

I really enjoyed this book! Reilly did a wonderful job of really describing the fall atmosphere and town. I loved the characters Kelsey & Sawyer. 👩‍❤️‍👨 it felt like a big warm cozy hug and was the perfect fit for this time of year.

I gave it four stars, only because I did feel like it was a bit repetitive and I wanted more dynamic within each character.

Overall, very cute! Thanks for sending Reilly!

Such a cute small town romance. Loved that it was clean and wholesome.
It was a bit repetitive and I would have liked to see some more character development from everyone, but overall it was very sweet.
Solid debut novel.
