In Paradise Valley, some sins hide behind scripture and smiles.
This story takes place in Paradise Valley were the main character had grown up before she left during her rumspringa and staying in Lancaster and married a professor who was study natural way for healing and Zipporah Anderson mother was the natural healer in Paradise Valley who she had learn everything there was about the different plant and how they could help with out having to go the city for English medicine. Bur her husband died from cancer, and he wanted her to take their daughter Hannah back to her roots where she would be much happier than staying in the city. But there were folk in her own community who did not want her to stay in Paradise Valley because they thought she would being the English ways there. She meets a few people who remember her from when she lived there and who were supporting her. One of the farmers from around there came to see her about one of his sick cows and she remember what her mother gave someone else to help the sick cow. But while was there another neighbor Emma Zook, came over with her sick baby who had a very high fever, and she need some help with trying to get the fever down. As spring came so did the fever that children get and Zipporah was very busy helping all these sick children, but a few people were still trying to get her to leave. They left stolen items from the community in her out shed which she never went to or used but during a storm a large branch fell on the shed and damage the back wall and they were able to see all the stuff someone had hind in there. They were having their annual quilt sales, and everyone donates something towards it. Zipporah gave a small quilt that her mother had made but the day before the sales someone had stolen one of the quilts and everyone just assume that it was Zipporah as a few things had been recovered from her small shed that she never used. The Bishop new that it was not Zipporah who had stolen these item or the one found after the storm which knocked down one of her walls in the little shed as Samuel show the Bishop and told him some of the stuff was stolen more than six months before Zipporah had come back to Paradise Valley so the Bishop was will to help Samuel solve this mystery. I love how they let the injured people help them decide what punishment should be given out. This was a very well written story about kindness and forgiveness.
