Tina Proffitt is the author of over two-dozen reincarnation-romance novels, two nonfiction books on reincarnation, and one children’s book. Her Bachelor of Arts in Education, a love for reading and writing, and a lot of encouragement from her loved ones got her where she is today.
A roller coaster of a book with Admon Elliot manifesting himself into multiple personalities. The book is about how trauma can alter your mind in attempting to shield you from the horrors you have experienced. This book deals with mental, physical and emotional abuse , D.I.D ( Dissociative Identity Disorder) , trauma from witnessing an accidental death , psychiatrists, and the toll dysfunctional families reap on their innocent victims. The relationship between the psychiatrist Lily and her patient Admon was hard to understand and left me wondering about her own upbringing. The book has moments of weirdness but the reader is propelled to see how this strange book ends.
4.25 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ Great, would read again, highly recommend. Very grateful to have won and received this copy of Admon Elliot from the GoodReads giveaway. Greatly appreciate Tina for signing the copy and personalizing it for me.
I guessed almost everything before it happened. Some things did shock me. I didn’t love the ending with Bud and what he tried to do to Lily. I don’t think it was necessary to add that in so that’s my only critique/criticism. Everything else was great. I felt like I had to be crazy but I wasn’t Admon was. Written so well it had me feeling like him - lost, but in the best way.
About a man with D.I.D or multiple personality disorder. His journey and progress with trying to reconnect or at least understand his alters so he could understand his past and fill in the gaps. Forms, realistically, an inappropriate relationship. Really is very reliant on this relationship to keep him as sane as he can be. The cover literally spells it out: without her, he disappears. Very interesting how certain parts make you question if anything is real or all made up. I will say, I did make many guesses so that’s why a lot were accurate however I made many that weren’t accurate as well.
I suggest if you do read this highlight, mark, or make note of all the different characters. It really helps if you want to try and solve certain aspects while reading. I would suggest trying to figure things out for yourself or ask questions or make guesses while reading, basically treat this as your own mystery to solve or you may find yourself so confused it deters you from continuing. It really is an amazing book though. It seems like Tina put in time on her research.
Love the symbolism in the book and the parallels we see. Very well written. ✨✨✨
This was an interesting story about a 25 year old male named Admon who suffers from D.I.D. His therapist is determined to help him remember his past in order to heal him. The author did a nice job of making the alter personalities very specific in their words and actions. They even possess different accents. I was vested in the story to see what happened, but it was confusing at times. Part of that is due to the multiple personalities being portrayed and part is due to the fact that it’s difficult to know sometimes if Admon is dreaming, remembering things, or experiencing things in real time. I honestly am not sure if I understood the ending. It jumped forward just enough to make it uncertain if things were real or imagined. Overall, it was a good story and it held my interest enough to read it in one sitting.
