Murder in a Blizzard: A Ruby and Mojo Cozy Mystery

Rate this book
Snowbound, Stranded, and Stalked by Death…

Widowed Ruby Morris thought her fresh start as the owner of Moonrise Manor B&B would begin with a peaceful drive to Riverbend. Instead, a raging snowstorm strands her in Clara’s Café with a handful of eccentric strangers—and Mojo, one very opinionated Corgi she rescues from the blizzard.

At first, the café feels like a quirky refuge. But when a boastful businessman collapses mid-rant, poisoned at the dinner table, safety vanishes as quickly as the lights. With the storm sealing every exit, Ruby realizes she and her unexpected companion may be the only ones who can untangle the truth.

Mojo’s uncanny instincts expose lies and spotlight a newlywed husband caught hiding a vial of unknown substance and a retired teacher whose snarky digs at the victim hint at a simmering resentment years in the making. As suspicion deepens and tempers flare, Ruby finds herself surrounded by secrets as treacherous as the storm outside.

As dawn breaks, Ruby must summon courage she didn’t know she had—because survival depends on following the pawprints of truth before the killer strikes again.

Corgi to the rescue!

A group of very different people are stuck in a
severe blizzard at a small cafe. Ruby stops at the cafe in a terrible Blizzard with a very unlikely group of strangers. One guest is poisoned, a small corgi is found outside
freezing, the corgi is brought inside and immediately takes to Ruby. Who poisoned the guest? How did the corgi help solve the murder? After a sheriff shows up and arrests the murderer, Ruby and the Corgi are able to leave and begin a new adventure in the next book at Ruby's destination. What did Ruby name the Corgi? I can't wait for the next book in the series to see how Ruby and the corgi will start the bed and breakfast!!

This was a good quick read and I enjoyed it. A winter storm and this women has to finally stop when she see a diner. She is reluctant to go inside but the roads are to bad and so is the driving so she gets out of the car and goes inside. What happens next changes things and the weather is not getting any better but she takes charge. Check out this book so you can read what happens. Happy reading.

Ruby and a very special corgi end up stuck in a diner during a blizzard. One of the patrons dies and Ruby with the help of the corgi needs to figure out the clues. A cute story that has you following each of the clues, can't wait to read another by Cresta Lynn.

A short novella with a nice plot.
I liked the characters of Ruby and Mojo and hope their characters will get deepened with the next book.

Of course, as it is a short read, the solving feels a bit hurried, but nevertheless I liked reading it and will continue with the series.

This was a quick read that turned out to be very entertaining.
A quirky plot, that is different. Looking forward to a longer book from this author I have high hopes.

Really enjoyed this quick read. Great characters and story. Love it when an animal solves the murder especially when everyone is stuck in a diner while a storm is brewing outside.

Trite and contrived!

The best thing to be said about this work is that it’s short, not wasting too much of the reader’s time. Thank goodness it was free! I ran across another free book with a different author’s name that sounds exactly like this tale except the scene is set by a rockslide that closes roads and stranding an almost identical set of travelers. I think perhaps both stories were generated by AI.
