Me and the Devil
We found hope. We found hell. We found each other.
In the aftermath, there is only one thing left.
One word the devil on my shoulder repeats, day after day...
"REVENGE."
This is my story now.
My story of love.
My story of obsession.
My story of total annihilation.
*This is NOT a stand alone novel. You MUST read RUIN before reading Me and the Devil.

Me and the Devil
A Ruin Novel, book 3
Julie Anne Addicott
NOT a ROMANCE
🖤🖤🖤
Sometimes, you stumble upon a book, or in this case, three, that etches a permanent mark on your heart.
But never before has a series unraveled me so completely, pulling me into every emotion, and at the same time making me question my own sanity. Because somehow, Julie Anne made me feel everything, hate, grief, empathy, and care for the humans hidden beneath the monsters.

My heart broke for Glen. His pain, his guilt and shame, it felt so real. And when his backstory started to unfold, I just sank deeper into it, and it left me devastated.
What I loved most was Glen’s constant push and pull. He’s torn between what he thinks he deserves, the love he still carries for Tryst, and the unconditional love and support Raffaele keeps offering him. Watching him unravel and slowly face himself was heartbreaking but also hopeful.
𝘞𝘦’𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘙𝘢𝘧𝘧𝘢𝘦𝘭𝘦.”
From chapter 30 on, I was gone. I couldn’t put the book down. The tension was unbearable, and my heart was racing until the very last page. I kept trying to guess what would happen next, but the revelations, the new characters, they completely blindsided me. And through it all, I just kept rooting for Glen and Raffaele.
Julie Anne promised us a revenge story, and boy did she deliver. It was wild, bloody and unhinged, but somehow it still left me with hope. The way everything connected and came together was masterfully done.
This series will make will make you uncomfortable and please read the tw before reading because this series is not for the faint of heart. But these stories deserve to be told for all the victims and monsters who are made. Because life isn’t black and white, but mostly grey.

If you’re unfamiliar with this series, let this be a warning.
‼️ These books are not romance books. There’s no HEA. The RUIN series is a work of biographical fiction.
‼️This is not a standalone. You need to read Love Lost Her Way and My Name Is Tryst first.
‼️ The trigger list for this series is to be taken seriously! It is not for everyone.
“ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴏɴꜱᴛᴇʀꜱ, ᴀᴍ ɪ ᴛʜᴇ ᴠɪʟʟᴀɪɴ ꜰᴏʀ ʙᴇɪɴɢ ᴀ ᴄʜɪʟᴅ ᴡʜᴏ ᴅɪᴅ ɴᴏᴛ ᴜɴᴅᴇʀꜱᴛᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴍᴏɴꜱᴛᴇʀꜱ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ʀᴇᴀʟ ᴀɴᴅ ʜᴀᴅ ʜᴜᴍᴀɴ ʜᴀɴᴅꜱ ᴀᴍ ɪ ɴᴏᴡ ᴛʜᴇ ᴠɪʟʟᴀɪɴ ꜰᴏʀ ᴡʀɪᴛɪɴɢ ᴍʏ ꜱᴛᴏʀʏ ᴀɴᴅ ꜰᴏʀ ᴛᴇʟʟɪɴɢ ᴍʏ ᴛʀᴜᴛʜꜱ ᴡɪᴛʜᴏᴜᴛ ɢɪᴠɪɴɢ ʏᴏᴜ ɢʟᴏʀʏ ᴛʜɪꜱ ɪꜱ ᴛʜᴇ ᴇɴᴅ ꜰᴏʀ ʏᴏᴜ, ᴛᴏᴏ.”
If you follow me you know how much I love Julie’s writing and stories. They are darker than dark and pitch black. My Name is Tryst is the darkest book I’ve ever read. So proceed with caution.
The first two books are about twins Carlie and Tryst who are brought up by a child seggs trafficker who uses and abußes his children. Creating a victim out of his daughter and a monster out of his son. There’s no happy in these pages.
Please check my review for the first two books pinned to the top of my profile.
That being said. Me and the Devil gave me some peace of mind. Glenn’s story (Tryst’s lover) is one of revenge and redemption.
The pain Glen lives with is so deep it affected me in ways I can’t even describe. He’s in a deep black hole.
Tryst made sure Glen was taken care of with the mafia boss Stan Romonelli and his familie.
Raffaele Romonelli, Stan’s son, takes a liking to Glen and with his own traumatic past, he tries to save him.
I loved how Julie tied everything up and made it come together. While this book isn’t as dark as the others, it brings some beautiful salvation and redemption for Glen. But not anywhere did Julie make Glan a hero, just like she didn’t with Tryst. However Glen deserved to feel real love, real family and a second chance to exist in a world that won’t exploit him.
I’m so sad this series has come to an end, these are the kind of books that will leave you heartbroken as well as conflicted. I just love being traumatized 🫠
Thank you for your words, Julie 🖤

Well well well…Julie made me cry…surprised!?
I wasn’t expecting it to go this way and I appreciate Julie’s brain so much. The way I felt for Glen and how he grew up and thought of what love was made me think about my own childhood. I felt seen reading Glen have his “aha” moment. Julie wrote this with such deepness and, of course, depravity.
What we were raised to believe to be love and how we view ourselves is a big question in this book. Revenge and Regret and how we continue to live with the mistakes we made, not knowing we were only doing what we were told or what we believed needed to be done or that we simply didn’t know another way to do it. Yet in the end also realizing what was done was awful. And Julie handled it well.
The characters were phenomenal. The action felt like I was right there. I admire Julie and her writing for showing a side of the world that is disgusting. But how you can heal and overcome with the right person and what love is supposed to look like. She taps into the psyche and brings out the complexities of humanity.
If you read this book correctly, you will know that this is not a book encouraging the things that took place. This is about revenge and how it can overtake you. Thank you Julie for this ARC. I will always think of Glen.

Me and the Devil continues where Ruin leaves off. In Ruin, Tryst was a monster, but I craved understanding what made him one. Glen, on the other hand, was still a mystery to me. I hated him before I ever got inside his head. This book was a pleasant surprise because I realized I wanted to understand Glen even more. Me and the Devil gives us so much more depth into his character and his life before Tryst.
What I appreciated most about Addicott’s writing was how she made me understand why Glen stayed with Tryst, why he endured what he did, and why he became so complicit in everything happening around him. Love can be blinding, but when someone is lonely and abused, the smallest bit of attention or affection can be perceived as love. When that blindfold is finally removed, realization and guilt can rear their ugly heads.
“𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐨’𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐠𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐲.”
There were plenty of heart-pounding moments, along with a few that left me genuinely agasp. Glen is on a revenge plot with death as his end game, and this story follows his journey through vengeance, guilt, and self-recrimination. But one Italian is determined to fix him. Glen may not have been perceptive to Raffael for most of the story, but the sexual tension between them was undeniable. Raffael slowly opened Glen’s eyes to what real love could feel like.
“𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞.”
All of the characters woven into this world made me even more invested, and I enjoyed the added POVs throughout the story.
Again, this is a very dark story and should not be considered a romance by any means. Check the trigger warnings on the author’s website before reading. And this absolutely must be read after Ruin.

thank you so much. this book deserves all the stars in the world.
this author just has such a special way of writing and creating something so different. i have no words, this book is beyond amazing. it dives into the harsh truths of reality and topics that are so brutal in this world.
the main characters have had the worst ever happen to them and their journey is so relatable in so many ways. i find myself within them. overcoming trauma is so so difficult and challenging and realising you can be loved and cared for despite all that, you can overcome it with the right support and people. in a way this book gave me so much reassurance. so so impressed by everything.
ALSO RAFFAELLE YOU ARE SO FUCKING HOT WOW!!!!
please check tw before reading this.

Glen…..I just want to hug him. Was he wrong for what he did yes, did he have a choice in what he was sucked into doing when he was with Tryst?, also yes. Did he do everything he can to get rid of the people who abused children, also yes. I started to really get attached to Glen when I was reading his story. Raffe is who he needed in his life. I really want more of their story, especially how this ended by Raffe stopping from Glen committing suicide😢

Reminder that this is NOT a romance.
Once again… I don’t think I’ll ever be able to put into words all of the emotions I have felt while reading The Ruin Series. I thought I knew the extent that Glen went through from My Name is Tryst… but getting his own side of what he endured and to witness him in the aftermath of it all absolutely broke me and had me constantly at war with my feelings. I despised how he stood by Tryst’s side no matter what horrors he acted out - but I also cried for the child who grew up just wanting someone to care and to love him. What they had was toxic beyond repair but it was also all that he knew and he truly believed Tryst was the only one who loved him.
Now Raffaele - I wasn’t sure what role he would play in Glen’s life but I loved him more and more as the story progressed. Learning the details of his past 😭 he was the one to see Glen for who he truly was and refused to let him go. The revenge that these two delivered?👏🏻 and I’ll leave it at that because my jaw was on the floor at times.
The ending took me out and all I could do was cry and stare at the wall afterwards (which I’ve learned is something I should expect from Julie at this point 😭) Carlie, Tryst, Glen… all victims but each with a different ending. This is NOT a romance but it is a story of survival, of dealing with guilt and grief and just overall brutality. This series really shows how there is “beauty in brutality” and Julie’s writing portrays it perfectly.
A million thanks to Julie for sharing these stories. You don’t shy away from what needs to be told and are just incredible 🖤
If you’ve been thinking about starting this series, please always check your triggers. They are there for a reason but these stories deserved to be told no matter how brutal they are to take in. To know that this is a reality for so many… it’s terrifying and heart wrenching but it needs to be talked about.

5/5⭐️
I read My Name Is Tryst in early 2024, and I immediately fell in love with the author’s writing style, the storyline, and the characters. I literally cried when I finished the book. I went into it completely blind, so I was not prepared for the ending it gave me.⚠️
When I heard back then that the author planned to give Glen his own story and continue the storyline, I was absolutely delighted because I loved both Tryst and Glen deeply.
However, I discovered another genre that I fell in love with and stepped away from dark romance and taboo books for a while. Then, a few months ago, I saw a post on Instagram about Me and the Devil, and I had the biggest “oh my god, I completely forgot about this—I need to read it immediately” moment. But when I looked for the author’s books, they were gone from Amazon, and her online profiles had disappeared as well. I was so confused.👀
Eventually, I found her Instagram again and was so happy to see she had a link where I could buy her books. I immediately bought Me and the Devil (PS: My Name Is Tryst is no longer available—you need to read Ruin first).
I started reading, and I could not put it down. My heart was breaking while finally getting Glen’s story—or rather, his revenge, his healing, and his slow journey forward through the afterlife to be with his lover, Tryst.🥰
I felt everything while reading this book. I cried, I laughed, I got angry, and I went through every emotion possible. It was an absolute roller coaster. When I reached the part where Glen’s story seemed like it was coming to an end, I was already tearing up, expecting the worst. But let’s just say a little bit of hope won. I’m so glad someone fought for Glen and helped him see the good that was always inside him.
Still, I truly hope this is not the end. I’m not ready to believe Glen’s story is over yet.🥺😭
And now, let’s talk about Tryst for a moment.
Yes, Tryst was not a saint—oh lord, he really wasn’t. But he was not born a monster; he was made into one. He deserved the chance to live, to be with Glen, to build a better life together, to discover what normal could look like, and to experience love freely.😭
I loved their relationship. Yes, it was toxic, but it was also beautiful in its own complicated way. It was fascinating, heartbreaking, and impossible to look away from. I could never get enough of Tryst and the way he loved.
To me, Tryst was never just a monster. He was never simply the villain. Many people may disagree with me, but this is how I see him. He never truly got the chance to become something different. His death genuinely traumatized me because, in my eyes, he did not deserve to die the way he did.
I hope Glen never stops loving Tryst, and I hope Tryst’s love for Glen continues forever.❤️😭⚠️🖤
A warning: this story—and honestly all of this author’s books—are not for the faint of heart. Please read the trigger warnings and take them seriously. Even as someone who enjoys dark romance and intense stories, there were moments where I struggled with some of the more brutal scenes.💔
The author’s writing is incredible. It feels so realistic that it is both amazing and terrifying at the same time. The emotions, the characters, and the darkness stay with you long after you finish reading.💔🖤❤️🔥
This book broke my heart, healed parts of it, and reminded me why I fell in love with this author’s writing in the first place.

This is not ᴹʸ ᴺᵃᵐᵉ ᴵˢ ᵀʳʸˢᵗ from Glen’s perspective. This is Glen’s own story. It’s the story of a young boy desperate to be seen and loved, who could never have imagined that his new best friend was a monster in the making.
If you’ve read Tryst's story, you’ll already know a lot about Glen. But hearing it in his own voice is so much more heartbreaking.
Glen is the perfect example of someone both a victim of his circumstances but also being complicit, eventually becoming part of the problem.
Did a young Glen set out to harm people? Not really. Did he love a monster with such toxic obsession that he accepted his demons under the guise of unconditional love? I think so.
Raffaele is new to Glen’s story, but we know Julie never adds characters without intention or connection. The more I got to know him, the more I fell for him. After everything he’s endured, he could have been bitter and angry, but something about Glen calls to him. He doesn’t want to change this scarred, tortured man. He wants to protect him from himself.
Both men carry painful hearts locked behind grief, fear, and anger. Through physical and mental violation and broken spirits, they remain fractured, but somehow, there’s still a softness in each of them. Few people ever see it, and Glen himself refuses to acknowledge it, but it’s there.
Glen is still in love with the ghost of a monster. The more he learns, the more it is like he believes he’s responsible for carrying the guilt that Tryst never would have.
Can he ever make up for turning a blind eye? Or will he do the only thing he believes will bring justice, seek revenge, and follow then Tryst?
Julie Anne Addicott writes darkness like no one else. It isn’t glorified or glamorized. It’s raw, ugly, unfiltered, and necessary to confront. This isn’t a romance, not even a dark romance. But it is a story that explores love. The pain of loving someone who doesn’t deserve it, and the pain of loving someone who may never allow themselves to accept it.
Another stunning Addicott creation. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

Glen’s story completely broke me. I didn’t expect to love his book as much as I did, but it ended up being one of the most heartbreaking stories I’ve read.
Like all of Addicott’s characters, Glen is incredibly complex. He’s a man who has been broken beyond repair, completely consumed by grief and unable to imagine a life without Tryst. His entire existence becomes defined by loss and an overwhelming need for revenge against everyone who hurt them both.
But what does revenge actually give him? No absolution. No peace. No way to silence his conscience.
At the end of the day, Glen was complicit in many of Tryst’s crimes. He chose to stay because the brutality Tryst offered him had become his definition of love. Pain was all he knew, and eventually, he began to crave it.
He’s constantly rushing toward his own destruction, with Raff becoming the only thing tethering him to the world. Raff is a brutal force in his own right, but beneath that brutality is a tenderness Glen has craved his entire life.
Throughout the story, Raff tries to teach him something he’s never truly understood: love doesn’t have to hurt.
What I loved most was how Addicott slowly dismantled Glen’s distorted view of love. She forces both Glen and the reader to confront the reality that what existed between him and Tryst wasn’t love in the way he’d always believed it to be.
His grief gradually transforms into self-hatred as he’s forced to confront not only what he became, but also what he allowed himself to become over the years.
This story asks some incredibly difficult questions. Can a person ever be absolved of their sins? Is seeking justice enough? And what happens when you finally realise that it’s already too late and all you’ve left behind is a trail of destruction?
I adored the entire Ruin series. It put me through the emotional wringer from beginning to end. None of these books are easy reads, and none of them offer much happiness, but that’s exactly why they feel so powerful.
These stories feel real. They’re messy, complex, devastating, and haunting all at once.

THIS HAS A LOT OF TRIGGER WARNINGS IN IT.
PROCEED WITH ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ CAUTION.
NO ROMANCE HERE..
My father said you tried to stop him at the end.” “I tried, yeah. He knew he was going to die, and in some ways, I think he wanted to.” My heart is heavy with the weight of knowledge. “We were never going to last.”
I think this is one of the HARDEST things I had to ever read.
Glen a boy who 6 years met Tryst when he also 6.
These two became thick as thieves.
What they never realized at the time.
Is that, is was never to meant last.
This book ISN'T about Tryst and Glen
It's about after.
Julie Anne Addicott books are heartbreaking, raw, emotional and downright a painful truth that people don't wanna hear.
We rather bury our heads in the fairy tales that will never happen.
I applaud her for writing these stories that will forever be ingrained.in my life.
I will always be ready to them.
REMINDER THOUGH. not even life has a happy ending.
I don't condone what these characters do.
I ache for the life that was ripped away at a very tender and never had the chance to be in love and maybe just maybe. Have that white picket fence.
Don't judge what you don't fully understand just because your scared of the unknown. Crawl your way out of the whole you have your head and LISTEN to what she has to say..
Who knows you may learn something.
Patiently not Patiently waiting for Maverick and Bradley's story. 🫣😊🥰🫶

THIS IS NOT A ROMANCE.
Glen on his revenge path is my favorite thing ever. The killing scenes were 🔥, everyone got exactly what they deserved, although brutal🤢
Glen, my poor baby Glen😭 I’m sorry I judged you before knowing you. Going into this book I thought it was gonna go in a completely different direction but I am SO HAPPY that I was wrong🥹 Glen deserved the world and all he got was a lifetime’s worth of pain, suffering, torture and the most fucked up version of love that exists. He was just a kid and only wanted a friend, only wanted someone to love him and care for him😭 Only thing his life brought him was unspeakable horrors, never ending violence, and always feeling unsafe waiting for the next hit.
Some things, whether through actions or inaction, can never be forgiven, but he truly did the best he could with the situation he was in and in the end turned his catastrophic tragedy into something good and safe. Nobody is perfect but at least he made the right choices when it mattered.
This book was the perfect revenge and in the end he could finally let go of what used to be💔

5 FREAKING BEAUTIFULLY HEARTBREAKING STARS!!
🔥THIS IS NOT A ROMANCE.🔥
⚠️BE MINDFUL OF YOUR TRIGGERS⚠️
From the moment I finished Love Lost Her Way and My Name is Tryst, I've been frothing at the mouth for Julie Anne Addicott's Me and the Devil and let me tell you.. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! This book is a rollercoaster of emotions diving deep into the raw and heartbreaking realities of its characters. Experiencing the consequences of the events that happened in books 1 and 2 and how Tryst dug his claws into Glen and the implications of their actions kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire story. Glen and Raff are so well written and that you feel every ounce of pain, destruction, turmoil, and love as if it were your own. This is one of those stories where from the moment I flipped that last page, I just stared into the abyss trying to process what I just read while simultaneously ready to read it again. It's one of those stories that makes an impact and will stay with you forever.

SO. it is not secret that I love this trilogy. Tryst will always hold a special place in my heart. BUT BUT BUT BUT everyone.... Glen's story is the story I KNEW I needed and boy oh boy did it deliver. From cover to cover I was completely engrossed in his story and our new MMC, Raffaele? Wait until you meet him.
Julie Anne Addicott is truly a writing genius and this trilogy has proven that time and time again. Glen is a monster. He’s not the good guy here. He’s in pain. Incredible pain. And JAA…. the way his story is written, it’s hard not to live his pain with him. I was drowning right along with him. Felt every wave of pain. And when a writer can do that? Really bring you into the characters reality… I’m sold. Perfection at its finest. Raff is the same way! He has his own demons he’s dealing with and somehow both him and Glen’s monsters bring them together.
I CANT WITH HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS! A million star rating. I will never stop thinking about this series. I will never stop recommending everyone read this series. I will always be thinking “maybe I should re-read it again”. Because I will…
Finding JAA has been incredible. EASILY one of my favorite writers. Thank you for brining this story to the world and being so vulnerable in the story telling. If you’re looking for a story that will challenge you, in every way, then this is it.

“I thought I knew darkness—until I met Glen.”
Me and the Devil showed me the full weight of his story. What he endured, and how he continued to survive, broke me completely. I was torn between despising some of his choices and crying for the boy who once only wanted love.
Glen is dark, destructive, and yet achingly human. Julie Anne Addicott doesn’t paint him as a hero or a villain, but as someone teetering on the edge of his own hell. His loneliness, longing, and despair burrowed under my skin.
It’s a story of guilt, loss, and the heavy burden of a past you can never escape. The ending is heartbreaking and raw—there’s no easy closure, only the stark, painful reality of Glen confronting his demons. It stays with you long after the last page.
Me and the Devil is raw, gripping, and utterly unforgettable. Glen’s story will haunt you, break you, and linger in your heart.

I am completely heartbroken and equally at peace with this whole series. If you read My Name is Tryst, you MUST read this book. I know why Tryst didn’t get a happy ending and I don’t think he should have had a happy ending. But “in another life” is all I wanted for both Tryst and Glen. 😭. And I think Glen gets that now.
Glen’s story is about grief and guilt and so much horrible, wonderful revenge. This book is raw, brutal, and heartbreaking - and everything I needed after the first two books.
As much as Glen could have of an HEA, he gets it with Raffaele. I am so relieved that Julie gave Raff to Glen.
And as usual, despite the nature of the content, the writing is beautiful. Every tear shed, and there were MANY SO MANY TEARS OHMYGOD, was worth it and then some.

This book itself had me on a rollercoaster of emotions. This book really showed who Glen was as a person. The truth is Glen was a victim and a perpetrator. But through flashbacks, we see how much he gave of himself just to be loved and to protect those he loved. I cried with him when he thought of Tryst’s death not because Tryst didn’t deserve it but because Glen really thought the only person he had was Tryst. We also meet a new character who is Raffaele. Raffaele also has a dark past that helps him understand Glen's struggles. Raffaele was the glue that held everyone together but also had times of vulnerability. Overall, I loved the book and think it's a great way to end the Ruin Series.
A final note I want to state is that THIS IS NOT A ROMANCE

Please don't judge...I wanted to hate it so bad in the beginning😩..... I know bad guys don't get happy endings and I know why tryst ended up being his own demise in the previous book and everything he did was ABSOLUTELY DEPLORABLE, but in another life/some other world I wanted it to be him and Glen happy and I know why it just couldn't be.😩 Reading about Glen and his grief was a different kind of pain, it was an internal battle for my own emotions the entire book but once he finally let go of tryst at the very end I felt a weight lift and was actually really happy for him. 😭 This trilogy is one that I will think about for a VERY long time.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Warning: This is NOT A ROMANCE
You need to be in a certain headspace for this book (and this series). It lets you see the worst of humanity and even though we may feel sympathy for some characters, there are no good people in this.
🚨 Again, NOT A ROMANCE! 🚨
This book and series will linger and stick with you forever. So dark yet impactful. If you have no tr!ggers, then I highly recommend this series.

This final book shattered me. Carlie, Tryst, and Glen’s stories collide in the aftermath of everything, and I felt every bit of their grief and loss. I cried more times than I can count.
Julie’s writing is so powerful she made me feel something even for a true monster. If you can handle very dark stories, this series will haunt you long after you finish

Perfection like always.
This book IS NOT A ROMANCE.
Remember you must read My name is Tryst because Me and the devil is not a stand-alone.
Read the Trigger Warning list…. Remember It’s not a trope list.
I repeat, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK AS A ROMANCE BECAUSE IT IS NOT A ROMANCE.
PS: Raffaele….

This was an amazing end to the Ruin Series. I loved seeing everything from Glens perspective. I adore Raf and the way he handled Glen and didn't give up on him. This was not an easy series by any means and the way Julie wrote it was absolutely beautiful.

This series will stick with me in a deep and profound way. Glen's complicity came from the need to be loved and accepted and although completely heinous, he isn't the same monster that Tryst was. Learning the whole story of what Glen endured to protect Tryst, to help save children, to try and repent for what he was doing was heartbreaking. I wanted to hate him but I warred with my feelings because he held empathy and the way his regrets were eating him alive said something about the person he could have been or could become. Raffaele is an example of what Glenn could be. What he could have been if he was able to escape Tryst's clutches. Raff fought for himself after everything he endured and pulled out if the path of destruction that Glen found himself taking. He saw himself in Glen. He saw the human inside and wanted to heal his broken parts. Their relationship grew and felt organic and true. Glen and Raff were so well written, their pain, their heartache, their needs were so palpable and you could feel it in every page. This was a beautifully heartbreaking story to round out this absolutely devastating series. It's heavy and full of triggers but it's a read you won't regret and its a story that needs to be told, needs to be heard.
