Well well well…Julie made me cry…surprised!?

I wasn’t expecting it to go this way and I appreciate Julie’s brain so much. The way I felt for Glen and how he grew up and thought of what love was made me think about my own childhood. I felt seen reading Glen have his “aha” moment. Julie wrote this with such deepness and, of course, depravity.

What we were raised to believe to be love and how we view ourselves is a big question in this book. Revenge and Regret and how we continue to live with the mistakes we made, not knowing we were only doing what we were told or what we believed needed to be done or that we simply didn’t know another way to do it. Yet in the end also realizing what was done was awful. And Julie handled it well.

The characters were phenomenal. The action felt like I was right there. I admire Julie and her writing for showing a side of the world that is disgusting. But how you can heal and overcome with the right person and what love is supposed to look like. She taps into the psyche and brings out the complexities of humanity.

If you read this book correctly, you will know that this is not a book encouraging the things that took place. This is about revenge and how it can overtake you. Thank you Julie for this ARC. I will always think of Glen.

Reminder that this is NOT a romance.

Once again… I don’t think I’ll ever be able to put into words all of the emotions I have felt while reading The Ruin Series. I thought I knew the extent that Glen went through from My Name is Tryst… but getting his own side of what he endured and to witness him in the aftermath of it all absolutely broke me and had me constantly at war with my feelings. I despised how he stood by Tryst’s side no matter what horrors he acted out - but I also cried for the child who grew up just wanting someone to care and to love him. What they had was toxic beyond repair but it was also all that he knew and he truly believed Tryst was the only one who loved him.

Now Raffaele - I wasn’t sure what role he would play in Glen’s life but I loved him more and more as the story progressed. Learning the details of his past 😭 he was the one to see Glen for who he truly was and refused to let him go. The revenge that these two delivered?👏🏻 and I’ll leave it at that because my jaw was on the floor at times.

The ending took me out and all I could do was cry and stare at the wall afterwards (which I’ve learned is something I should expect from Julie at this point 😭) Carlie, Tryst, Glen… all victims but each with a different ending. This is NOT a romance but it is a story of survival, of dealing with guilt and grief and just overall brutality. This series really shows how there is “beauty in brutality” and Julie’s writing portrays it perfectly.

A million thanks to Julie for sharing these stories. You don’t shy away from what needs to be told and are just incredible 🖤

If you’ve been thinking about starting this series, please always check your triggers. They are there for a reason but these stories deserved to be told no matter how brutal they are to take in. To know that this is a reality for so many… it’s terrifying and heart wrenching but it needs to be talked about.

𝕄𝕖 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝔻𝕖𝕧𝕚𝕝 - 𝕁𝕦𝕝𝕚𝕖 𝔸𝕟𝕟𝕖 𝔸𝕕𝕕𝕚𝕔𝕠𝕥𝕥

This is not ᴹʸ ᴺᵃᵐᵉ ᴵˢ ᵀʳʸˢᵗ from Glen’s perspective. This is Glen’s own story. It’s the story of a young boy desperate to be seen and loved, who could never have imagined that his new best friend was a monster in the making.

If you’ve read Tryst's story, you’ll already know a lot about Glen. But hearing it in his own voice is so much more heartbreaking.

Glen is the perfect example of someone both a victim of his circumstances but also being complicit, eventually becoming part of the problem.

Did a young Glen set out to harm people? Not really. Did he love a monster with such toxic obsession that he accepted his demons under the guise of unconditional love? I think so.

Raffaele is new to Glen’s story, but we know Julie never adds characters without intention or connection. The more I got to know him, the more I fell for him. After everything he’s endured, he could have been bitter and angry, but something about Glen calls to him. He doesn’t want to change this scarred, tortured man. He wants to protect him from himself.

Both men carry painful hearts locked behind grief, fear, and anger. Through physical and mental violation and broken spirits, they remain fractured, but somehow, there’s still a softness in each of them. Few people ever see it, and Glen himself refuses to acknowledge it, but it’s there.

Glen is still in love with the ghost of a monster. The more he learns, the more it is like he believes he’s responsible for carrying the guilt that Tryst never would have.

Can he ever make up for turning a blind eye? Or will he do the only thing he believes will bring justice, seek revenge, and follow then Tryst?

Julie Anne Addicott writes darkness like no one else. It isn’t glorified or glamorized. It’s raw, ugly, unfiltered, and necessary to confront. This isn’t a romance, not even a dark romance. But it is a story that explores love. The pain of loving someone who doesn’t deserve it, and the pain of loving someone who may never allow themselves to accept it.

Another stunning Addicott creation. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

THIS HAS A LOT OF TRIGGER WARNINGS IN IT.
PROCEED WITH ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ CAUTION.
NO ROMANCE HERE..

My father said you tried to stop him at the end.” “I tried, yeah. He knew he was going to die, and in some ways, I think he wanted to.” My heart is heavy with the weight of knowledge. “We were never going to last.”

I think this is one of the HARDEST things I had to ever read.

Glen a boy who 6 years met Tryst when he also 6.
These two became thick as thieves.
What they never realized at the time.
Is that, is was never to meant last.
This book ISN'T about Tryst and Glen

It's about after.
Julie Anne Addicott books are heartbreaking, raw, emotional and downright a painful truth that people don't wanna hear.

We rather bury our heads in the fairy tales that will never happen.

I applaud her for writing these stories that will forever be ingrained.in my life.

I will always be ready to them.

REMINDER THOUGH. not even life has a happy ending.

I don't condone what these characters do.
I ache for the life that was ripped away at a very tender and never had the chance to be in love and maybe just maybe. Have that white picket fence.

Don't judge what you don't fully understand just because your scared of the unknown. Crawl your way out of the whole you have your head and LISTEN to what she has to say..
Who knows you may learn something.

Patiently not Patiently waiting for Maverick and Bradley's story. 🫣😊🥰🫶

5 FREAKING BEAUTIFULLY HEARTBREAKING STARS!!

🔥THIS IS NOT A ROMANCE.🔥

⚠️BE MINDFUL OF YOUR TRIGGERS⚠️

From the moment I finished Love Lost Her Way and My Name is Tryst, I've been frothing at the mouth for Julie Anne Addicott's Me and the Devil and let me tell you.. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! This book is a rollercoaster of emotions diving deep into the raw and heartbreaking realities of its characters. Experiencing the consequences of the events that happened in books 1 and 2 and how Tryst dug his claws into Glen and the implications of their actions kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire story. Glen and Raff are so well written and that you feel every ounce of pain, destruction, turmoil, and love as if it were your own. This is one of those stories where from the moment I flipped that last page, I just stared into the abyss trying to process what I just read while simultaneously ready to read it again. It's one of those stories that makes an impact and will stay with you forever.

SO. it is not secret that I love this trilogy. Tryst will always hold a special place in my heart. BUT BUT BUT BUT everyone.... Glen's story is the story I KNEW I needed and boy oh boy did it deliver. From cover to cover I was completely engrossed in his story and our new MMC, Raffaele? Wait until you meet him.

Julie Anne Addicott is truly a writing genius and this trilogy has proven that time and time again. Glen is a monster. He’s not the good guy here. He’s in pain. Incredible pain. And JAA…. the way his story is written, it’s hard not to live his pain with him. I was drowning right along with him. Felt every wave of pain. And when a writer can do that? Really bring you into the characters reality… I’m sold. Perfection at its finest. Raff is the same way! He has his own demons he’s dealing with and somehow both him and Glen’s monsters bring them together.

I CANT WITH HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS! A million star rating. I will never stop thinking about this series. I will never stop recommending everyone read this series. I will always be thinking “maybe I should re-read it again”. Because I will…

Finding JAA has been incredible. EASILY one of my favorite writers. Thank you for brining this story to the world and being so vulnerable in the story telling. If you’re looking for a story that will challenge you, in every way, then this is it.

*ME AND THE DEVIL IS NOT A ROMANCE* Read your trigger warnings carefully before reading.

“I thought I knew darkness—until I met Glen.”

Me and the Devil showed me the full weight of his story. What he endured, and how he continued to survive, broke me completely. I was torn between despising some of his choices and crying for the boy who once only wanted love.

Glen is dark, destructive, and yet achingly human. Julie Anne Addicott doesn’t paint him as a hero or a villain, but as someone teetering on the edge of his own hell. His loneliness, longing, and despair burrowed under my skin.

It’s a story of guilt, loss, and the heavy burden of a past you can never escape. The ending is heartbreaking and raw—there’s no easy closure, only the stark, painful reality of Glen confronting his demons. It stays with you long after the last page.

Me and the Devil is raw, gripping, and utterly unforgettable. Glen’s story will haunt you, break you, and linger in your heart.

This book my lord - I expected something different but it was still good.

I wished we would've had a HEA for Glen but that would've been to easy. I have so much empathy for his character und could feel the pain of losing Tryst with him. He was his only constant since he was 6 years old.

It actually would've surprised me if he had no suicide attempts after Tryst was killed. He knew nothing beyond him.

I liked Raffaele's character bc he also lived through a lot of pain in the human trafficking ring since he was born. They are a good match. Yes, Julie Anne Addicott said to not read that as a romance but I genuinely think both him and Glen could be happy together. Raff can be a sadist but he is nowhere near as brutal as Tryst.

I really thought this book would've ended with Glen dying but no we got a beacon of hope, that he can have a life without Tryst in it.

I am completely heartbroken and equally at peace with this whole series. If you read My Name is Tryst, you MUST read this book. I know why Tryst didn’t get a happy ending and I don’t think he should have had a happy ending. But “in another life” is all I wanted for both Tryst and Glen. 😭. And I think Glen gets that now.

Glen’s story is about grief and guilt and so much horrible, wonderful revenge. This book is raw, brutal, and heartbreaking - and everything I needed after the first two books.

As much as Glen could have of an HEA, he gets it with Raffaele. I am so relieved that Julie gave Raff to Glen.

And as usual, despite the nature of the content, the writing is beautiful. Every tear shed, and there were MANY SO MANY TEARS OHMYGOD, was worth it and then some.

Warning: This is NOT A ROMANCE

You need to be in a certain headspace for this book (and this series). It lets you see the worst of humanity and even though we may feel sympathy for some characters, there are no good people in this.

🚨 Again, NOT A ROMANCE! 🚨

This book and series will linger and stick with you forever. So dark yet impactful. If you have no tr!ggers, then I highly recommend this series.

Perfection like always.

This book IS NOT A ROMANCE.

Remember you must read My name is Tryst because Me and the devil is not a stand-alone.

Read the Trigger Warning list…. Remember It’s not a trope list.

I repeat, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK AS A ROMANCE BECAUSE IT IS NOT A ROMANCE.

This was an amazing end to the Ruin Series. I loved seeing everything from Glens perspective. I adore Raf and the way he handled Glen and didn't give up on him. This was not an easy series by any means and the way Julie wrote it was absolutely beautiful.

This series will stick with me in a deep and profound way. Glen's complicity came from the need to be loved and accepted and although completely heinous, he isn't the same monster that Tryst was. Learning the whole story of what Glen endured to protect Tryst, to help save children, to try and repent for what he was doing was heartbreaking. I wanted to hate him but I warred with my feelings because he held empathy and the way his regrets were eating him alive said something about the person he could have been or could become. Raffaele is an example of what Glenn could be. What he could have been if he was able to escape Tryst's clutches. Raff fought for himself after everything he endured and pulled out if the path of destruction that Glen found himself taking. He saw himself in Glen. He saw the human inside and wanted to heal his broken parts. Their relationship grew and felt organic and true. Glen and Raff were so well written, their pain, their heartache, their needs were so palpable and you could feel it in every page. This was a beautifully heartbreaking story to round out this absolutely devastating series. It's heavy and full of triggers but it's a read you won't regret and its a story that needs to be told, needs to be heard.

Let me start off by saying people need to leave this author alone!!!

These books are CLEARLY advertised as DARK, PITCH BLACK! They clearly state they are not romance. If you wanted lovey dovey you should have read that not picked up these and then kicked up about them being exactly as you was warned they are!!

I have loved all 3 of the books in this Ruin series (love lost her way, my name is Tryst and now this). The whole series is traumatic and heartbreaking and yet even in the most awful situations love can so beautifully shine through. This book is not a stand alone and must be read after the others. I loved reading Glen’s story and getting to know Raffa.. Grief, Loss, Guilt and Revenge at its finest! My heartaches for them yet I am so happy they finally got a little bit of the peace and happiness they deserve. THESE BOOKS ARE NOT ROMANCE but they are so beautifully wrote. Raw, gripping and utterly unforgettable. The ruin series did just that ruined me!
