Taryn Myers is over being a doormat for her employer. Bypassed for a promotion twice, she decides she needs a break from her job, home, and obligations that haven’t served her. A borrowed cabin in the Tennessee mountains seems like the ideal place to breathe, reprioritize her life, and determine what’s next.
Zaire Wilson isn’t looking for company. In fact, the last thing he wanted was a woman … especially one with the means to disrupt his solace with every soft look and snippy comeback. Best laid plans don’t always go the way you think.
Yet forced under one roof, Taryn and Zaire began to form an unexpected bond, and with the isolation of woods, endless mountains, and zero cell service, one’s defenses are bound to break as tension mounts. Where there was once resistance, sparks began to fly—something earth-shattering, something unexpected, and something potentially life-altering.
What can go wrong when love shows up when these two stop trying to control the fall? Find out between the pages of this forced proximity love story, Love in the Quiet Moments.
I really enjoyed this story from beginning to end. I loved the connection between Zaire and Taryn and how easy it was once she stopped fighting her attraction. Close proximity and fate led to them exploring their attraction to one another and they created a bond that was unshakeable. Zaire did not play about Taryn and getting her to see she needed to choose herself when it came to overworking herself for a company that would never appreciate her. I loved Zaire’s personality and how he was forceful with tough love for Taryn when necessary.
I hate what Zaire had to go through with his ex for him to even come into contact with Taryn when they did, but his loss was both of their gain. His ex was really trifling and had some audacity to her as well as his cousins. They all needed to find something safe to do with what they did to Zaire and that innocent child.
In the end, Zaire found the love of his life with Taryn and she chose herself with work and what she had been working for had been given to her after moving on. This was a feel good novella and worth the read in my opinion.
When love finds you unexpectedly with a person that you have known!!!… Zaire and Taryn deserves that love and it showed on them so beautifully!!!… I had NOTHING but respect for Zaire for handling the separation from Mason after finding out he was not his son!!!…Nobody said it would be easy, or that it wouldn’t hurt, but he found the strength to explain and encourage Mason!!!… The fact that Bryn attempted to play on Zaire emotion and his love for Mason had me ready to ride out with Taryn!!!… Then to learn that the brother that spilled the beans was also part of the train with Bryn is hilarious!!!… I was glad that Zaire and Taryn got their HEA!!!…
This is an unexpected love story that I was here for. Both Taryn and Zaire need their own personal get away only to end up at the same place at the same time not knowing. Both have a lot going on a deserve a reprieve. Zaire bless him has his whole life blown up in the worst way by two people who shouldn’t be. Then Taryn is the doormat at her job, and she needs to stand up for herself. Things move so fast for the two of them and its smooth and genuine. Zaire deserves the world after fining out the kid is not his and how crazy is it that his family doesn’t see what’s wrong with it even after more facts come to light. Bryn needs her ass beat and so does everyone else that played on Zaire's top.
Sometimes what you are looking for is just around the corner, Zaire loved with his whole heart and to have to find out the child you thought was yours was your cousins. Taryn had a little crush on Zaire but he didn't even know about they both needed a break from the drama in their life and that's how they ended at the cabin the same time. You talk about crazy cousins he had them and back stabbers by Taryn's job was using her like crazy but didn't want to give her the promotion now they have each other and all is well
Zaire and Taryn were both going through something in their lives that was weighing on them. Zaire in his personal life and Taryn in her professional life. They wind up escaping to the same place, and a relationship blossoms between them. Zaire and Taryn had great chemistry, and I was happy with how the love developed between them. I also loved the banter they had going on, and the way that they supported one another. This was a really good close proximity book that was enjoyable from beginning to end!!
What a beautiful feeling the quiet moments bring. Finding love when you are not looking is definitely a blessing from God.
I enjoyed getting to know Zaire and Taryn. They deserved each other, and they deserved to be happy. The mixup at the cabin was ideal. Zaire's not baby mama and Taryn's job were enough to drive you to drink.
But in the end, love always wins. Thank you Riley B. for another great book!!!
Cute!! 10/4/25 not sure how I feel bout the son tho😒 that was sad n tore at my heart🥹he’s only five n only knew Zaire as his father. The circumstances on the son not being his after five years, welp Zaire couldn’t even get past it😔
I really enjoyed this book. I only have one complaint and it’s I wanted to read more. I loved how Zaire and Taryn’s love evolved. I found myself at the end of the book before I even realized it.
Mistakenly their friends allowed them to stay at their cabin at the same time. Both Zaire and Taryn needed time away. But what they really needed was each other ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was a good quick read.. My interpretation....This book showed how things fall apart while also falling into place..Glad Taryn and Zaire got what they deserved... If you're looking for a book that's short and to the point I recommend reading this one.
A sweet read with different kinds of pain. I loved these characters and their growth. I enjoy reading this authors books her writing style and her storylines This was no different.
Love in the Quiet Moments started off ok, but started to be a snooze for me. Outside of these two being at the cabin, the chemistry of these two and dialog came across kinda boring. I was hoping for more, but this one just didn’t do it for me.
I love the story of Taryn and Zaire. The love they shared throughout this book is hopeful. It shows that love can prevail through a tumultuous time of life. I laughed, I cried, I was angry and in the end excited about their love story. A must read.
The drama about a little child was very sad. That baby wii forever be affected by this issue. I understand the hurt , but not the child. Him finding love was great, but the baby was critical to me
Cute short story! Even though their relationship grew quickly, I loved the positive energy that both Zaire and Taryn poured into, making their relationship work for them.
I really enjoyed this book, not only it pertains to a plus size women, it also let you know big girls could/can be love and with the right man nothing can stop them
Zaire and Taryn fell in love by action. How don you live with someone and not know that wasn’t your baby. Thanks for such a great love story. Life is Life.
I really enjoyed this one. The character development and pacing were spot on. Two adults, both navigating their own situations, finding peace in the outdoors and a quiet cabin escape. Their unexpected meet-up ended up giving them more than they even realized they needed.
