I remember a fellow Christian minister I used to visit from time-to-time years ago. He had never reoriented his thinking from being center on himself to being center on God. Whenever I saw him, he would say, “Oh, Allan, I’m under such warfare”. He talked as though he alone was singled out by the devil, who was personally beating on him that very day. I consider the concept of the vision of Isaiah chapter forty and the practice of implanting that vision, both in my own heart and in the hearts of God’s people, one of the most stabilizing forces in life.
