Lana never planned on living alone with her stepfather, Callan, but that’s how things unfolded after her mother packed a bag and disappeared. With no savings and nowhere else to go, Lana stays in his house and tries to keep out of his way. Callan is a famous porn star, and his million-dollar home feels like a constant stream of noise and bodies. People come and go, filming content and throwing parties, but Lana focuses on film school and pretends she doesn’t notice any of it.
When she gets an assignment to analyze a film production, her best friend suggests she ask Callan about his work. Lana hesitates at first, but decides to go for it when she realizes it might give her a fresh perspective she couldn’t get anywhere else. She expects him to refuse, but he agrees, and suddenly the dynamic between them starts to shift.
Even though she’s only there to write her essay, Lana ends up helping him in ways she didn’t anticipate. Callan is usually in complete control on set, but now, only with her in the room can he stay aroused for his scenes.
When Lana realizes she’s drawn to him, she remembers her best friend’s advice to let herself be more open and stop holding back. Tentatively, she offers to be his fluffer, testing the boundaries of her own desires, and he accepts without hesitation. They agree to keep it professional, but the closeness and intimacy are bound to lead to more.
Everything shifts when someone else crosses a line, exposing something meant to stay private. Lana is blindsided and pulls away, convinced he used her. But will she ever trust him again or walk away forever?

Seven Rue is an international bestselling author. Born and raised in a small town by the Lake of Constance in Switzerland, she loves writing books that not only make hearts melt but also push limits. When she's not writing, you can find her on long walks with her pup, Bowie, or kicking around a ball on the soccer field.
I hate leaving a 3 stars because all of her other books have been 5 stars for me. It wasn’t a bad read I just didn’t connect with the characters like I have from her other books. I didn’t care too much for the MMC being an adult film producer as well as him having parties late nights when she has school. I did love that he surprised her at the ending with her own writing room. The tension and angst was there and it was well written I just wish I loved it more 🥺
This was intense and yet so beautifully chaotic, I felt every emotion they felt
I love it the age gap sets of a underlined tone but the forbiddenness is there in the words and inner thought. Both characters are wounded in their own way but they find confidence and control in each other I was all for the spice it was pack with a burn and a raw hunger for each other I couldn't put it down and I also wanted about epilogue. I can say that the hate her mother spews is vile and triggering at times but the fmc over comes every battle with the mmc by her side callan definitely has a way of being unsure and confident with her but he truly is off balance with her and I love that he allows her to have control
So the spice in this book is really giving but the plot lacks of intrigue and it’s mainly smut. It’s only smut but it’s a good book for a normal reading. I would not particularly recommend it for people who love to read books with actual plot but if you just want to spend your time and want to have some fun while you read something, then you should definitely check this book out because it gives all the spices that you need to spice up your day.

2.oo Stars. (WW/WM). Kindle Edition $4.99/ 360 page ebook. SETTING: California's Hollywood Hills in the gated community of Brentwood during 21st Century. TROPE: Forbidden stepdaughter & stepfather romance. Forced proximity. 24 year age gap. MAIN CHARACTERS: 1. LANA, female lead, is a 19-year-old virginal college student studying to become a screenwriter. 2. CALLAN/BUSTER ACE, male lead, is 43-year-old multimillionaire porn star. 3. EDEN is Lana's mother, Callan's ex-wife and child neglecting gold digging man hunter. 4. HOLLAND is Lana's busy boding best friend and confidant. 5. ROCCO is Callan's womanizing co-worker best friend and confidant. 6. KARLEE, KIRA & MADISON are female porn stars working for Callan.
This story is a long repetitive unbelievable story populated with a cast of unlikable characters... A mother abandons her teenage daughter with a man that was in their lives for a short time. The teenage daughter lusts after her mother's ex and volunteers to be his fluffier, the female that gets Callan aroused by performing oral sex on him. Callan is all about partying and having sex until close to the end of the book when he's in love and is thoughtful and caring. Lana runs away tells her friend all and fiends indifference when her heart is breaking. Rocco is the least offensive and most likable of all the characters and seems to become the lead male along with Holland in the next book.
My literary explorations have no limits that I've found and yet, when I was looking for a quick read and tripped over this it struck me that I hadn't read a story like this—so, I dove in like a very curious, but eager cat.
And I wasn't disappointed. I thought it was interesting to explore what implications could possibly arise when not just orbiting peripherally, but living with and being in a relationship with someone in the porn industry could entail.
Lana was hard to believe as a character that fit into this story. Well, in the way she was placed I mean. She's a traumatised teen with no self-worth. She's confident in her schoolwork and she's knows she physically attractive but she has, and continues to, internalise her mom's poisonous vitriol. It's hard to imagine someone like that, starving for true connection, being okay and well adjusted and secure in role when working on her paper and after he took her virginity.
Like I said, interesting topic that makes you think outside the box which is why I love reading so much.
I know this is supposed to be a taboo romance and all that, but I wish the characters were given more depth and personality. The romance feels a bit too rushed and seems to come out of nowhere (I was genuinely confused when Callan suddenly started caring). The premise of the MMC being an adult movie actor and director should have been explored more instead of being presented in such a superficial way. It would have been interesting to delve into the inner workings of the porn industry, but alas. Especially since Lana is a fluffer for a while and then that plot point goes nowhere, I was really hooked during that part. Even the spicy scenes felt flat. The fact that Lana was his stepdaughter isn’t even really discussed at all.

This book had all the potential to be so good. But, unfortunately it fell flat. A MMC who is a porn start with hardly any intimate scenes with the FMC is wild. I felt like the majority of the book was taken up by Lana and Holland's friendship. It got to the point where I was like geez, Holland is a cockblock. I needed more. More time with the main characters truly being with each other and less time with Holland. I also thought it was unfair of Lana to ask Callan to quit his job considering just how long he had worked in the industry. Like, you knew what he did for a living and was still seeing him, so why does it matter now? I just found that to be so selfish.

The virgin FMC paired with a famous porn star MMC was a step too far for me in this context, as it would have felt much more natural if things hadn’t been so awkward. Lana’s loneliness and neglect are well written, and Callan’s guilt is acknowledged, but watching a nineteen-year-old virgin navigate voyeurism, sexual control, and obsession inside a porn-filled house often felt too much rather than seductive. The story doesn’t pretend the dynamic is healthy, which I appreciated, yet the imbalance never fully stopped bothering me and the concept itself was too much for my personal preferences.
As with all of Seven’s books, I knew I’d enjoy this one. As the story unfolded, I felt so many different emotions, making me extremely invested in how everything turned out.
Lana has literally been through hell and back but never lost her strength. She was amazing, and when Callan saw past his own walls, he was brought back to life. I love how much they helped each other find peace in a life that had been too chaotic for each of them, even when they lived in polar opposite worlds.
My review is going to sound like I didn’t enjoy the book, but I really did. It was light, had some decent spice, and was a good book to zone out to.
Howeverrrr… Definitely anticipated this being spicier and was sad about that.
Lana also just annoyed the heck out of me and that makes it difficult - as you can imagine.
She loves to say “I don’t judge people in the industry”, but clearly she has a problem with it imo. And ofc the other women were all the villains in the story. Please, let’s not. She just gave me the ick.
I love Seven Rue but this was not a book I really liked. I love taboo books in general and this author is always an immediate download but this one left be with a bad taste in my mouth. It felt like cheating to me. He had already figured out he was obsessed with her and continued the random hookups and filming. It was just not a good feeling to me. I don’t just read these for the smut, I read them for the plot too because the author odd so talented. Buff this story left be feeling empty for Lana.
I thought this had a unique storyline and a lot of potential. But the MMC was so hot and cold and never fully communicated why. It made me a little crazy. And the FMC would shut down and have to process her thoughts and feelings and it made her seem very young to me. It wasn’t a terrible story, it just lacked that “something” I have enjoyed in this authors other books. I did have to laugh how the MMC catches the FMC watching one of his movies and he’s jealous. Umm, excuse me sir, you’re having smex with other women on the daily for “work.” 🤣
I enjoyed this and definitely like most of Rue's books. I felt like it was very long (could have been shorter for sure) and I actually like the cover and title Fluffer better 😉. I put off reading this one for awhile because of the length, but I'm glad I finally dove in. Step-dad - Callan - a porn star who is actually an ex step-dad before anything happens between him and his former wife's daughter, Lana (a young student, virgin). And Lana's mom is AWFUL so I never felt bad for her. Sweet love story that takes it's time getting to the happy ending.
I enjoyed this but I just couldn’t connect with them as I did her other books characters it was just missing something for me still a solid 3.5⭐️
Ohhh and Holland? That girl gets a star for being the best girls girl she was fucking awesome!! I would love to have a bestie like her she stole the show for me!
I was really excited about this book and it did deliver. But the last 25-30% of the book i feel fell a bit flat. The spice is good but not overwhelming in the book. The epilogue is good but not really that surpsing or worthwhile. I do recommend the read though
