Single father Brendan Marshall is trying to keep life and limb together after his divorce. Having gotten custody of Jameson in a tough custody battle, he’s determined to be the best father he can. However, it seems his ex is not willing to just walk away, even if she isn’t up for mother of the year. When a threat arises to his family horse farm, he realizes he needs help to keep his family safe.
Lucas Stone is a bouncer at a happening night club until it closes its doors, and what he needs now is a job. Through a mutual friend, Lucas meets Brendan. He knows nothing about farms, horses, or goats. But what he does know is security, and the fact that there is something about Brendan that gets under his skin… like, way under.
Both men are in uneasy territory, but they quickly realize that they need to rely on each other. Brendan comes to learn that Lucas will act in order to keep him and Jameson safe, and Lucas quickly figures out that while country life is different from his past experience, it also has its charm… like the farmer and his amazing son. But just as a relationship begins to build, outside threats could pull everything they care about to pieces.
Brendan is a divorced man trying to keep his ranch together and raise his son as well. But life seems to throw obstacles in his way. Someone is trying to make him fail. He suspects his ex wife in doing that. Brendan contacts his lawyer, who introduces him to Lucas Stone. Together, they gather the evidence, but there's something else developing between them. Could it be love?
This was an interesting, sweet, shortish tale as a man battles a vengeful ex. His horses and other livestock are tampered with causing havoc as they get loose. It's a good story, his little son is adorable and amusing and the extra hired man certainly sparks things up, if you know what I mean. A very enjoyable read.
Brendan and his 4year old son, Jameson, have a farm with various animals. His boy is getting his goat ready for the fair. Strange things begin happening, that appear to be his ex wife’s doing, so Brendan ends up with a big man Lucas, to guard the farm and help. It’s a mystery that is hard to find an answer to. Meanwhile the men have an increasing interest in the other, and each has the emotional connection growing. Andrew Grey is a favorite author of mine, so he never lets us down. We get unique characters and stories that weave a tale with romance, family, sexy times and love. ENJOY !
Horse farm owner and single dad, Brendan, is experiencing some foul pranks at his ranch/farm. Lucas finds himself unemployed when the club he was bouncing at closes down. Brendan's lawyer / Lucas's old friend match the two up for more than property protection. Add Jameson, a cute little 4-year-old, and an insta-family plot has been created. Enjoyable story that packs a decent amount of content into a surprisingly short book.
Brendan needs some help at hos home that's also his business when things start happening. He asks his lawyer who calls in his friend Lucas who worked as a bouncer at a club until it closed down. He's large and intimidating. Brendan is happy to hire him thinking that his ex wife is stirring up trouble after ahe lost both the divorce and full custody of their son Jameson.
Lucas gets cameras going and they figure out who's doing what. We also get to see cute a d adorable moments between Lucas and Jameson plus his dad Brendan. I loved this and there might be drama but it doesn't get any animals harmed. The ex is ugh, but that gets resolved without a big battle.
Loved the time with the animals. It was nice to see Mitchell from the Must Love Dogs series also as the vet. Stared in October but this ended in January which was awesome. MM romance with animals, kids, and protection one my favorite tropes. Andrew did another excellent job.
Nice book, Andrew. Brendan, who owns a horse farm and has a four-year-old son, Jameson, hires Lucas, a former bouncer, to help around the farm. Jenn, the boy's mother, has blown off visitation privileges in favor of being a horse person. As Brendan and Lucas get better acquainted, Jenn, her mother and her brother start upsetting things around the farm - it turns out her mother was the mastermind behind this. At the end, Brendan and Lucas are a couple, and they buy Jameson a dog.
Andrew Grey delivers with a new sweet, quick single dad romance! I really enjoyed this book, with just the right amount of romance, spice and some mystery thrown in for a quick, easy read that I enjoyed from start to finish.
Brendan is a single dad focused on his horse farm and his son Jameson, and Lucas has been working as a bouncer but when the club he was working at closes he’s in need of new work. When trouble starts on Brendan’s farm a mutual friend recommends Lucas spend some time working with Brendan on the farm. Easy fit and fix for them both. They have an easy connection and attraction and at first both are determined to keep it professional, but soon that connection wins out. While drama heats up on the farm things also heat up between Brendan and Lucas.
I thought this was a fun read, and again a good mix of the drama and the romance. I also really liked Jameson, he’s such a cute, sweet kid and Brendan is a really wonderful father. I loved his approach to his son and Lucas fits right in, creating his own great relationship with the great kid. I also enjoyed the mystery side of things as they figure out who is causing trouble on the horse farm and whether it really is connected to Brendan’s ex-wife. I also really liked how everything developed between Brendan and Lucas, it felt very genuine and real and of course how it all came together, felt like a very fitting ending for these guys. Definitely an enjoyable, sweet read!
This book is the perfect way to spend an enjoyable, comfortable evening. Brendan is a bisexual single dad of a delightful four year-old boy. Holding custody, unfortunately, his ex-wife has little interest in spending time with the boy, yet still has threatened legal action. At the same time, someone is vandalizing and causing mischief in his horse ranch. Brendan's lawyer recommend hiring a security expert, Lucas.
As the two men spend time together, their attraction grows. They take things slow because the relationship has the potential to be something more. Also, they are busy dealing with the danger to the horse farm and taking care of Brendan's son. They eventually get their HEA and a beautiful future together. Comfortable, feel-good, and romantic!
A good story about Brendan, a divorced ranch owner and his adorable toddler son, Jameson. When a series of things start happening on the ranch he hires a Lucas to help him manage and try to discover who is doing this. Whilst the pesky ex wife pops in whenever she wants, there is lots going on to keep us entertained with the horse owners who come to look after their horses and sexy times with Lucas and Brendan. It was a relative quick read not much angst. A perfect book if you want something easy in between hard reads.
Another well written MM romance from Mr. Grey. Interesting characters, good development and a classic plot line with no major disasters. Ends well, with a promise for a future HEA.
Here's another sweet, short, fast paced read for when you need something pretty low angst with lots of feels. Brendon has a fairly lucrative horse ranch with some other livestock that combined with his 4 yr old son keeps him busy. He starts having small incidents on the farm and contacts his Lawyer Greg ( from Lawyers Quandry but not necessary to read that to enjoy this)( fun little Easter Egg though) Greg has a cousin that needs a job and suggests him to help out and keep a watch so Brendan hires him.
As usual this story is sweet and lots of fun. I love little children in story's so a big plus for me. He adds a lot of charm and some humor. If you love single dads, ranchers, horses, goats, dogs, cute kids, small towns, protectors, and low heat low angst romance with lots of feels and a touch of mystery this is for you.
This was a good book don’t get me wrong but I just wish the book was longer so that we could see their relationship gradually grow. I’m really sad that we didn’t get their first “I love you” to each other and that we didn’t see more of their little family.
