A Masterpiece of Revolution and Redemption: Blood of the Bourgeoisie by @SullyMichaelvan
Blood of the Bourgeoisie is nothing short of a revelation—a gripping, intellectually charged novel that weaves the raw power of Bitcoin into a tapestry of personal liberty, human struggle, and defiant hope. From the very first page, it shatters illusions and ignites the soul, reminding us that being self-made is a fantasy of the powerless.
The novel speaks often in its own voice—these lines are its own.
“We live now in a new Reign of Terror, though its blade falls not in the Place de la Révolution but on Wall Street’s Charging Bull, where the bloated corpses of the bourgeois swing, their ill-gotten fortunes redistributed by an invisible hand far truer than Adam Smith’s.
Every empire stands on the shoulders of those who came before—and now, those shoulders crumble under the weight of justice.”
In this terror, there is virtue. The narrative pulses with revolutionary fervor, echoing timeless wisdom: The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants…
And in the spirit of triumph through adversity, it channels the glory of hard-won freedom—The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheaply, we esteem too lightly. It is dearness only that gives everything its value.
Yet amid the ideological fire, the story delves deep into the human cost. Every lie she told him felt like a tear in the fabric of who she was. Each deception split her into fragments…
In a moment of raw vulnerability, the hero declares, Liberty is wasted if it’s not used to make hard choices… I choose her…—a line that captures the novel’s emotional core, blending romance with radical conviction.
This is no mere thriller; it is a manifesto wrapped in suspense, proclaiming a message that resonates like a battle cry:
Bitcoin is Hope. Fix the money, fix the world—
@SullyMichaelvan has forged a masterpiece that will echo through our modern revolution, inspiring the sans-culottes of the digital age to rise. In an era of oppression disguised as progress, Blood of the Bourgeoisie is essential, exhilarating, and utterly transformative.
A resounding five stars—a beacon for the virtuous terror to come. 😉

If you’re a bitcoiner, you’ll enjoy reading this to some degree. He weaves in plenty of themes that will be of interest.
But. I can’t drop a five-star just b/c someone happens to believe the same crazy economic ideas as me. We all know the types that do that and it’s sadly pathetic. I prefer we not have a ‘best BTC novelists’ list as if that matters. I did bump it up to three stars on this basis, just to be clear.
Ignoring the BTC angle, this book reminded me a little of the Tom Clancy or Bourne books, which are interesting enough on a vacation when you are half dialed into the book and half into your margarita. But there’s a certain cheesiness to the romance and the easy black and white good versus evil elements, especially for everyone other than Nahla (who is a bit more complex and interesting).
I’d also say the writing and action just isn’t always super tight in terms of telling the story. Like I would know the basic direction the plot was going at certain points, but little details would just be missing that were necessary to mechanically tell the story. The writing feels a little rushed and big-picture driven, but I think he should have spent more time going back over the nitty gritty to make sure everything hangs together.
What made this book so special, is that it is the perfect argument for Bitcoin imo, but written as a murder mystery thriller and a love story wrapped up all in one. It doesn’t try to be “complex” but it is thought provoking. It made me reflect on my own fortunes as well as how I see the rest of the world. I found myself questioning judgements I make and if I could be more graceful. The world will be a better place for it if there is a film adaptation, this book is deserving of a mass audience. The characters were great. Flawed individuals with many redeeming qualities.

My husband had found out about this book through a Reddit thread. He ended up purchasing it and when the book arrived, I immediately began reading it and was not able to put it down. As someone who is an avid reader and absolutely loves books of all genres, I have to say this has been such an amazing read!! The writer was so descriptive with his writing, making it easy to visualize as a movie. I will definitely be recommending this book to others and purchasing his other books!!
Great work Michael!! I am looking forward to your other books!! 👏
I read this book in three sessions, the longest lasting 8 hours. Maybe I'm a slow reader, regardless, this was a fast-paced, captivating, incredibly well written story. I enjoyed every page and every character.
Blood of the Bourgeoisie was a fast paced thrill read which I fully enjoyed. The story, characters, and pace of this book remind me of a Tom Clancy or Dan Brown novel. A timely story about inequality and resentment for a system that is designed to exploit and exhaust the masses.
