Azrin Fauzi (b. 1992) is a Malaysian writer, essayist, and curator whose practice operates at the intersection of literature, visual culture, and spatial thinking. Trained in architecture, he explores how cities function as sites of memory—where spaces, structures, and objects assume narrative agency beyond human presence.
He is the author of three short story collections—Urban (2015), Metaskandal (2018), and Amok-Imago (2022)—as well as the essay collection Otopsi, dengan Degupan "&" (2025). His works have appeared in international platforms including Mekong Review, Samovar, and ArtsEquator, among various Malaysian anthologies, journals, literary magazines, and newspapers.
A frequent recipient of the Selangor Literary Prize (2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021) for his short stories and essay, Azrin was awarded the Penang State Literary Prize in 2023 for Amok-Imago, cited for “exploring a new style that floats reality in the space between existence and nothingness”; and in 2025 for his microfictions. He has represented Malaysia at the MASTERA Writing Programme: Essay in Bandung, Indonesia (2019) and the International Writers Dialogue at Liangzhu Forum in Hangzhou, China (2024).
His works have been translated into English, Tamil, and Chinese.
