Millie's Cruise Ship Mysteries: High Seas Hijinks

Rate this book
Cruise Director Millie Mystery Series is the new spin-off series from the wildly popular Millie’s Cruise Ship Cozy Mysteries by Author Hope Callaghan.

Recipe Included!

Millie’s cousin, Liz Rasmussen, has booked an all-expenses paid cruise on board Siren of the Seas for her sister Gloria and close friends, a thank you for helping get Liz and her wealthy husband, Floyd out of a pickle.

The sun is shining, the seas are calm, and Gloria can’t wait to kick back and relax. Not long into their voyage, crewmembers from the mega cruise ship spot a luxury yacht in distress. When they reach the yacht, they discover a group of young adults on board and rescue them.

Instead of being grateful for the rescue, the spoiled seafarers appear determined to cause trouble…not only trouble but engage in destructive behavior. Unable to catch them in the act, Millie enlists the help of Cousin Gloria and the others.
It seems a simple enough task, but as the team of super sleuths soon find out, these aren’t your run-of-the-mill rescued passengers.

Millie and The Garden Girls are back together for another adventure on the high seas! Millie Armanti, Cruise Director of the Siren of the Seas cruise ship, is joined by her cousins Gloria and Liz and most of the other Garden Girls (Hope Callaghan's cross over series) Ruth, Dot, Margaret and Lucy who have come for a much needed vacation and some family time. When they all get together, there's always a mystery to solve.
The Siren of the Seas just returned to Miami from a Caribbean island tour and was boarding the next set of passengers on turn around day before setting sail once more with a new load of passengers. These included Millie's cousins Gloria and Liz. This trip had been planned for months and everyone was so excited to be back together. The previous trip had been fraught with trouble as "someone had been using the PA system for false announcements and even an abandon ship order in the middle of the last night's cruise returning to port. This person was identified and removed from the ship so Millie had high hopes for smooth sailing with her family and friends. That evening, after leaving port, an SOS call was received with the Coast Guard and Siren of the Seas responding but no ship in distress could be found. After leaving the island of Bimini, another SOS call was received and this time a private yacht was found listing on its side. The passengers were rescued and brought aboard the Siren of the Seas. The passengers were young, entitled and ungrateful for the rescue feeling the cruise line should have towed their yacht instead of leaving it to sink. Shortly after their arrival on board, unexplained vandalisms and thefts were reported though nothing could be proved as to who was responsible. Several suspects came to mind, but without evidence a case could not be made so...Millie and her crime solving team combined with the Garden Girls to solve this mystery!

High Seas Hijinks

This cruise ship mystery features not only the usual characters from the cruise ship, but also the Garden Girls who are taking a cruise. All kinds of difficult situations, someone broadcasting fake distress calls such as a Mayday call, rescuing an ungrateful group from a sinking yacht, Millie,' s stolen all access crew members' card and money purse, vandalism, a bomb threat that demands additional time in port, bomb sniffing dogs, evacuation of the cruise ship, and getting everyone back on board. As usual, Millie and her group, the security staff and the Garden Girls solve the mysteries, and two bad guys are locked up! No murders this time!

High Seas Hijinks is a page turning cozy mystery. As the curious, inquisitive Michigan Garden Girls take a cruise with Millie and Captain Armati - sun, sea, scrumptious meals, chaos, disaster and destruction abounds. Let no good deed go unpunished. Walk the decks of Siren of the Seas with Cruise Director Millie and participate in Bingo, Improv, a Cooking Show with Amit and with no rest for the wicked. What else can go wrong? Recipe for Armit’s Easy Chocolate Croissants included.

Trouble on the high seas

When Millie's cousins Gloria and Liz (and their friends) come cruising on the Siren of the Seas - trouble is sure to follow. A series of occurrences has the crew and passengers concerned and even panicked. Until Millie and her trusted friends and family do what they do best and figure out who's behind all the trouble.
A clean cozy with an added bonus - a behind the scenes glimpse of life aboard a cruise ship.

Get ready to cruise with Molly and her friends and relatives!

As usual, these books are great armchair cruising books with a mystery. I like the fact that you find out about different parts of the cruise ship and different locations they might stop at. It isn't just finding clues to a mystery. I hope that there will be another cruise director Millie mystery coming out.

Five stars

I love Millie and all of the characters in this series. It's a very entertaining series and it's like traveling around the globe visiting exciting ports of call. Of course Millie gets caught up in her usual hijinks and has to be rescued before solving the mystery. If you enjoy light and humorous mysteries then I recommend this series, but start on book 1.

I really like all “Millie cruise books, but this is one of my favorites. I very much enjoy cozy mysteries. The thing I like the best about this particular book is no one is killed. I don’t know why the mystery books always has to contain some one being killed. The book was also good because once again the Garden Girls joined the cruise.

Hijinks, High Praise!

Millie is at it again, but then, when is she not. There is a Saboteur on board, but who can it be? Surprise endings. Hope Callaghan's books always leave me with anticipation for the next one, in all her series. Clean, no sex or bad language, my kind of books.

Love,love,love!

Millie's cousins and their friends join Siren of the Seas on an adventure packed vacation and help solve several mysteries. Always an action packed story and this was no exception. You can live vicariously through the characters as Ms Callaghan's descriptions of the ship and procedures are very accurate.

I love this series. Hope Callahan creates characters that a quirky and fun. The adventures she gets into are amazing. Adding to the story, a cruise with Millie's family members with their drama only adds to the side stories. As a frequent cruiser, I enjoy stories that involve places I know and love.

When the ship sails, when Millie is involved , you know it will be fun!

I’m always pleased to see a new mystery from Hope featuring my favourite Cosy heroine, Millie Sanders-Armati. I really enjoyed this book and finished it in one sitting. I recommend this series and this original one set before Millie’s promotion to Cruise Director.

Never a dull moment!

I love Hope's stories. There is always a twist you don't expect. I love the mention of the islands, of the ship and the activities aboard. I love cruising and reading about it. When the Love Boat was on I always wanted to be a cruise director.

I’ve read all of Millie’s adventures but this one wasn’t so good. It was boring and predictable. Oh well maybe the next one will be better
