Anything with cowboys I’m down. This was short and cute story about the rodeo in Millers Pointe. I loved learning something new about the black western lifestyle. I didn’t know anything about barrel racing before this. I would like to get more black cowboy rodeo romance stories. Destry and Savvy definitely kept it interesting. Let me find a rodeo so I can get myself a black cowboy 🤠.

It feels so good to be back in Miller’s Pointe! Savvy is an aspiring Barrel Racer with no horse. By day, she works as a rodeo worker at the Miller’s Pointe Rodeo to earn money so she can save for a horse. At night, she’s a spectator on the sidelines watching the competitors and wishing she was in the thick of the action. When she gets caught practicing on someone else’s horse, this may be the foot in the door needs. Destry is Miller’s Point’s golden boy. His family own damn near all of the land in MP and he’s ranked the number five bull rider in the nation. So, of course, he’s expected to take home the national championship title at the Miller’s Pointe Rodeo this year. But, when Destry see’s Savvy struggling to carry a saddle, he could care less about winning a title. In that moment, his main objective is to make Savannah Gentry his leading cowgirl. I loved everything about this book. Destry’s BDE and confidence were such a turn on. And, he wasn’t cocky with it. He just knew he was that ninja. Savvy definitely didn’t make it easy for my boy Destry and I loved that. Make him work for it sis! The book was a whole livestock and rodeo vibe. I absolutely loved the authenticity of the storyline and that it was steeped in black cowboys and black cow girls. I was diggin’ the rodeo theme and since it’s currently rodeo season in Houston, it made it that much more enjoyable. But, I gotta bone to pick with KC. How we gon’ pull up to the Phoxes Den with no Billy siting?!!! Ion like that. There is no Phoxes Den without Billy the Bad Azz Goat. Fingers crossed he makes an appearance in Charity’s book. 🤞🏾🤞🏾

Riding to your heart

This was a cute, sexy start to Rodeo Season. Destry is rodeo royalty and happens to be one of the bull riding champions. I loved everything about Destry (except his name🥴). He was extremely confident and very clear on who he was and what he wanted. He embraced his family legacy, but was adamant about making a name for himself. He wanted Savvy, a hardworking field hand of sorts that was helping with the behind the scenes of the Rodeo, but she wasn't paying him any mind at first. She was hesitant because he was royalty and she just came from a regular working class family. I loved how Destry just focused on her and that's it and he had no problem applying pressure, to ensure she knew he wanted her. Their chemistry was as crazy and I loved the pace and progression of their relationship. 

I loved all of the elements of the Rodeo...the barrel racing🛢️🏇🏾, the bull riding 🐂, the denim jeans👖, the cowboy hats 🤠. It really helped with the authenticity of the story and I enjoyed it.

I love Rodeo season!

Savy and Destry’s romance was fun, and I loved the hard-to-get trope with a splash of the man falls harder! Lol, and this novella had a really good storyline, considering it was under 200 pages. It felt right and has me ready for the real rodeo season in HTX! I can't wait to read Charity Shane’s book 2 in this series!

Savvy hits the rodeo with a purpose. She has had hopes and dreams of barrel riding her entire life, but circumstances always got in the way. Now is her chance, if she stays focused. All is well, until she meets Mr. Destry Callahan.

Destry is the damn man!!! Whew 😍 Skilled bull rider, wealthy, good looking, full of confidence, with a side of BDE! Yes, please! 😜 When he notices Savvy he knows this rodeo season will be one for the books. He has seen her around town but hasn’t had the opportunity to get up close and personal. Well, all that is about to change.

Savvy is about her business, and does not have time for the cocky, ladies' man, that is Destry. But, Destry didn’t get that memo, because he is coming for Savvy full speed ahead. She tries her best to avoid his advances, but she fails miserably. She learns that he is really a good man underneath all that bravado.

Destry sees something special in Savvy and wants to do whatever it takes to make her smile. She doesn’t make it easy for him, and I appreciated that. However, it made Destry no mind, as he put in the work to get his woman. Loved them! Imma need to hit me a rodeo this summer, cause I feel like I’m missing out. 🤣 Enjoyed this. 👍🏾👍🏾

Hmmm 🤔 Destry (I’d like to known the onomatology of this name), is/was an unusually feminine name for a character that’s a rugged steer wrangling cowboy 🤠🤷🏾‍♀️. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this story, the power exchange within the rodeo community & liked the chemistry between Savvy & Destry. …Calulated risk: investing in someone else for: an opportunity, their dream, a smile or even just a drink (a date 😉 semantics🤭‼️) her happiness ...ROI (return on investment) received 💞. “Destry: Rodeo Season”this was a great read.

As much as I loved this cover, I didn't like Destry all that much. He was way too arrogant for me. But he also had some really good qualities. savvy also had this attitude I wasn't quite fond of but again, she had some very redeemable qualities too. Overall, not bad. This was too short! I need to read more black cowboy romances!! Loved the narrator Nia Surge. I was hoping for a little more husky/country twang from Jamal Roque but Nia's voice made up for it. Cant wait to see what else happens on Miller's Pointe!

First book by this author and well I enjoyed it thoroughly! This book was just wanted I needed to get into cowboy romances and not any cowboy romance a Black cowboy romance and well baby this book did not disappoint!

Destry Callahan is a rodeo royalty bull riding champion who hasn't been roped up yet and in walks Savannah aka Savvy who is a take no bs and isn't afraid of hard work with a dream of becoming a professional barrel racer and the only thing on her mind is to keep her head down and figure out how to make her dreams come true.

Destry and Savvy are definitely slow burn with a mix of grumpy x sunshine vibes and it just made me love them even more. Destry wasn't afraid to apply the pressure when it came Savvy and I absolutely loved his confidence and in return Savvy wasn't afraid to keep it a buck with and call him on his bs!

Overall I really enjoyed this book from rodeo life to cute steamy scenes it made the perfect quick read. My only complaint is that I wanted more from these two! I definitely wasn't ready for this novella to be over.

DESTRY!!!!!!!! That man was EVERYTHING. He applied just the right amount of pressure and showed Savvy that it didn’t matter what she tried, something was going to spark between them. He was a cowboy 1st but a gentleman always. MY GAWD!!!!! Destry gave all the feels.

I mean I swooned hard because of him. I loved how even though she wasn’t intentionally doing it, Savvy made him win her with his actions. He was a gentle giant who saw her for who she was despite how much she tried to stay behind the scenes.

If KC don’t do nothing else she gonna give us a man to fall in love with. When Destry set up that surprise for Savvy I knew at that moment he was falling for Savvy and it was the cutest thing to see. Savvy tried to fight it but he wasn’t letting her get away. The cowboy who got the girl. YAS!!!!! Short, cute, and filled with the feels.

Let's be honest, the cover is what grabbed me. The model was stunning, and I'm not ashamed to admit that's what led me to pick this up.

However, the story itself was just... okay. It was a quick and easy read, perfect for a lazy afternoon when you don't want to think too hard. There were definitely some sweet moments, and a few scenes with a bit of spice, but overall, the plot felt a little flat. I wasn't particularly invested in the characters or the outcome.

The pushback from Savvy was ridiculous and childish. Damn near everytime her and Destry were together she acted like she had a stick up her ass when she clearly liked him. Was she an adult or a 2year old. What she called arrogance was just confidence from Destry. He knew who he was and what he wanted. He didn't play games with Savvy. I wish she hadn't either.

Destry and “Rebel” were too cute. I love that she was also a cowgirl and my guy Destry set his eyes on her and knew that she was going to change the trajectory of his life for the better.
This was a very quick read and a good palate cleanser with no drama.
I wish we got more from the Epilogue. I’d love to hear from these two again. ♥️

I literally felt like I was at the rodeo lol. Absolutely loved how Destry made Savvy nervous and how she couldn’t deny him even when she fake wanted too. I loved them together and wish this book was longer. Just an all around amazing read per usual. One thing about tha 🐐 KC she gone bring that 🔥 everytime. She literally never disappoints! 👏🏾 🔥 🖊️ 📚

“He saw what I had dreamed about for years and made it happen”. Destry showed us the true definition of “if he wanted to, he will”.

Savvy tried to play hard to get. And ended up with the hottest cowboy in town. This was a nice short story, with a good piece of spice on the side.

Im not sure if I didn't connect with these characters because the book was too short or what...but i felt a little bored and rushed to finish this story to get it over with. I think key details were missing about savvy's family and why she was so guarded.
