Saint
At fifteen, St John is removed from his violent, abusive father and goes to live with foster parents Kip and Robin Foster. There, he becomes Saint and grows into the man he never thought he’d become.
Now at 30, he’s a top tattooist running his own studio, but at night he’s a Dom at the exclusive Bound men-only club. A strict Dom who likes total submission and knows how to achieve it. Always assertive and sure, knowing that love is never something he wants or needs.

Noah
Noah, brought up in children’s homes, couldn’t wait to be rid of them, but instead of following in the footsteps of other kids, he wanted to make something of himself. The only things he was good at were drawing and, later, tattooing the images on skin. Desperate to meet his idol, he travels to find him. Intending to get a job with him, he won’t take no for an answer.
The attraction was instantaneous. Yet Saint denied the much younger man, sure he would never be the sub he craved. Noah knew better; he knew he was the Boy Saint wanted.

What happens when they fall in love, and Saint has no idea how to be a boyfriend.

Can they make it work, or will it all be too much for both?

Saint is book 1 in the Foster Bros series. A contemporary kink, with interfering, nosy brothers, and difficult subs that won’t let go.

4.5 stars. The story starts when Saint is only fifteen years old, and finds a safe home with Kip and Robin Foster, finally away from his abusive father.
What further Saint is thirty, and one of the best tattooists, he has his own studio.

One day, a fragile-looking tiny guy enters his studio with the question of whether he can work with him. Noah is a talented tattooist and Saint makes a deal with him.
When Saint understands that Noah comes from children’s homes, he takes him to his parents’ house, where Noah finds a safe place to live.

Saint is part of the BDSM community; he’s a Dom at the exclusive Bound men-only club.
He’s attracted to Noah, the guy is submissive af, and exactly how Saint loves it. But he can’t act on it. The guy works with him. Besides that, Saint doesn’t do relationships.

Saint is everything Noah wants, sadly the Dom thinks he is a rookie, he’s a virgin, and can’t handle a Dom like him. Noah is sure he can, he wants it, craves it. Maybe he should get some experience with someone else.
Oh boy, Noah, if you only knew, and if only Saint were honest.
Communication is important, and yes, they lacked that.

I loved that they weren’t perfect, certainly Saint, he’s an excellent Dom, but as a boyfriend, he has a lot to learn.
The scenes, at home and at the club, were kinky, hot and attractive, as Dom and sub they fit perfectly. Watch them navigate through the romantic parts, it wasn’t easy, and that was what made this read even more wonderful.

Kip and Robin gave me goosebumps with the love and dedication they have for their four adopted kids. A house full of love. This is how you do it!

Thank you to Gay Romance Reviews for the ARC.

Unfortunately this one didn’t quite click for me. The writing felt a bit clunky, with a lot of telling rather than showing, and the dialogue landed stiffly — almost like watching actors read lines instead of real people talking. I also didn’t realize how heavy the BDSM elements would be, and that’s on me, since it’s not a dynamic I personally enjoy.

There’s clearly an ambitious series setup here, introducing the brothers and building out the world, but those shifts felt a little abrupt and on-the-nose for my taste.

I think readers who do enjoy BDSM dynamics and big, dramatic family-series setups may find more to like. It just wasn’t my match.

I’d say this was more erotica rather than romance…

⭐️1,5/5
🌶️5/5 (the spice IS the book lol)

I went into this book thinking it was gonna be a kinky dark romance, but I was unfortunately left disappointed.

The plot wasn’t plotting. Like absolutely nothing happened in this book?? It was the most mundane shit mixed in with some BDSM. If they weren’t having sex, they were talking of sex or having family dinners. WHY are there like 10 dinner scenes in this book????

I liked the spice in this book but I wasn’t really invested in the characters so after a while it became repetitive and I just didn’t care about it. I would recommend this book to people who want to read bdsm smut but dont really care for the romance lol

Saint and Noah were saying I-love-yous when they litterally don’t know each other. There was no chemistry between them? The angst in this book also felt so forced they acted so childish at times, it was just ridiculous. There was barely anything romantic in this novel, just sex.

I really wanted to enjoy this book but unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations.

Thank you GRR for giving me an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Saint grew up in violence until foster parents saved him at fifteen. Now he’s thirty, a brilliant tattooist by day and a strict Dom at Bound by night—controlled, closed-off, and absolutely not looking for love.
Then Noah shows up. A younger tattoo artist who grew up in the system, stubborn enough to chase down his idol, and bold enough to insist he’s the sub Saint has been avoiding. The attraction hits instantly, but the emotional stakes creep in slowly—exactly where Saint struggles most.
What works: The Dom/sub dynamic is intense but rooted in trust and communication. Saint’s growth from “I don’t do love” to “oh no, I care way too much” is incredibly satisfying, and Noah brings just the right mix of sweetness, resilience, and bratty determination. The found family elements with the Foster brothers add warmth and depth.
What might not: The age gap and BDSM structure may be too heavy for readers wanting softer dynamics, and Saint’s emotional avoidance can be frustrating at times.
A kinky, heartfelt romance about two men who claw their way out of trauma and find something real in each other—whether Saint is ready for it or not.

Love this kinky book

I've always loved JJ Harpers books and now I love her kinkier side as Jodie Harper. We meet a found family of men who were saved from traumatic childhoods by two men in love and form a strong family bond. The first book in this series is about Saint an intense Dom who has never been in love. Until he meets sweet Noah. I liked that they admitted their love and then spent the rest of the book trying to figure out the Dom/Sub/Boyfriend dynamic. It was hot, intense and passion filled. I can't wait to read about the second brother Royal. I highly recommend this book. Enjoy!

Saint is the first book in the Foster Bros series by Jodie Harper. Jodie Harper is a new author for me. This is the story of Saint and Noah. I loved the characters so much because they felt like real people. I loved that the relationship was not just perfect from the beginning. It was something they had to work on just like in real life. I loved the spice and kink elements in the story. I would definitely recommend this book.

A spicy stunner

Saint and Noah have my heart. Their story was told in such a beautifully realistic way. The author didn't shy away from the realities that come with a relationship, how everything is not only sunshines and rainbows with a hint of tension. I just love how whole their relationship was, to be honest.

Saint is not into the whole boyfriend thing as the only relationship he knows is a dom/sub type of relationship. Noah crashlands into Saint's life with the possibility of a dom/sub relationship and a not-kinky relationship aka boyfriends.
The two become in control of these two aspects of their relationship respectively—Saint with the kink, Noah with the vanilla

This, while SPICY, was a beautiful book built around trust, past hurts, overcoming, found family and acceptance.

A group of kids find safety and shelter with foster parents who happen to be two gay sex positive men. This is Saint's story. He's an intense Dom and a pretty popular and talented tattoo artist. But he wasn't always like that. At 15 he was a scared and abused boy who had his dad's love for him turn to fists and violence. One of his now dads named Kip saw the signs, as he ran an inclusive gym that caters to those who need somewhere safe and off the streets, he calls it in to his partner Robin whose in social work and in the end they gain a son in Saint and later their other kids. Knowing love can turn at a moments notice Saint doesn't plan to ever have or want it. He just wants subs to play with and to go home alone and keep working. That is until Noah shows up looking young and beautiful but confident and determined as he asks Saint for a job. He's an amazing tattooist and Saint can't help but to feel attracted to him and wants him but he doesn't think Noah can handle what he likes and how he lives his life and is hot and cold with him a bit too much for my liking. But Noah isn't backing down. He knows what he wants and is determined to show Saint that he doesn't know everything about him and that he knows how good they can be together. Noah has had it hard too. Growing up in a group home, getting bullied and being underestimated. An incident puts things into more perspective for Saint and he realizes he can't stay away from Noah forever. What unfolds is something intense and not for everyone but it's real and it's how they show and express their love. I will say the first 50% was off and on for me mostly because of Saint being hot and cold and in denial. Plus how inconsistent he was for a professional Dom but once we got closer to the 50% mark I started to enjoy it much more. Saint may be experienced and Noah may be inexperienced but they both had to learn things as they went and how to make their relationship theirs. They didn't have the easiest journey but they both knew they were it for each other and earned their HEA. I loved the found family aspect as well and the sex was definitely hot. I'm excited to get the other brother's stories as well.

SAINT is the first book in the Foster Bros series.

Saint came from a very horrible childhood and found himself with his foster dads as a teenager. He found them just when he needed them the most. Now as an adult he's the man he was meant to be with very specific things he needs in his life. His foster dads and his foster brothers are all in the lifestyle in some capacity. Saint is a Dom looking for the perfect boy. He's into some serious things that not just any boy can handle. He has those he plays with but he's not looking for something serious he just doesn't believe in love. When Noah walks in to the tattoo shop he's nervous but determined. He's looking for a job as an artist. Saint offers to give him a chance but notices instantly he doesn't have anywhere to go. Of course Saint takes him home to his dad's house knowing they will take him in and give him what he needs. Saint is instantly attracted to Noah. Saint can tell he wants to be submissive but he's so inexperienced.

Noah is a fantastic tattoo artist. He's good at his job and his books are always full. What he is having trouble with is his attraction to Saint. He accidentally or not so accidentally he finds out Saint is a Dom and fully into that lifestyle. Noah doesn't know all that deals with but he is so willing to try. Can Noah handle the intensity that Saint dishes out? Can Saint be a boyfriend and a Dom? Is he willing to try?

I was completely invested in these characters. Saint and Noah don't seem like they'd work but work so well together. They are both learning what the other needs and are teaching the other what they need to have this relationship work. They weren't perfect but it is such a good read. I can't wait to see what comes next for Knox!!

I was given a free copy of this book to read and review for GRR.

Sadly, this wasn’t for me. I really liked the premises and it started out good. But not only didn’t Saint click with me, a lot of things were just unbelievable and felt off. When I feel more for the brothers than for the MC itself, it’s an ill-fated read.

I’ll try to unravel my thoughts.
First, I liked Saints family. I loved that his dads surrounded themselves with kids in need and built a family with them. That being said, you can be as open and welcoming as you like, no one can tell me you have the same depth and level of feelings for a guy you’ve known for a few weeks as for the kids you’ve known for years, raised and fostered. It’s perfectly fine and noble to welcome a man in need into your home and family, but for Saints dads to say Noah is the same to them as their other boys? Sorry, not believable at all after that short amount of time. Things like that need to evolve.
And their openness with private matters was a bit much for me.

Second. The BDSM element. I don’t know where to start. I’ve read my fair share of BDSM books, but this felt completely off for me. From not knowing anything about the lifestyle to being the best sub ever in the blink of an eye? No. You can have all the talent and instinct you want, you still have to be taught and built up. And don’t get me started on Saint. All the talk of him being a great dom but his actions didn’t show that one tiny bit. Yes, doms are human and have feeling and can f@ck up too of course, but this was ridiculous.
Their dom/sub dynamics just didn’t sit right with me at all, although I kind of liked them outside of that.

Saint struck me in a manner I had not anticipated. The one aspect that particularly caught my attention was the powerful presentation of the theme of found family. The childhood of Saint is hard and violent, yet the family he creates in the future makes him equally. He is not impeccable, yet this is what makes him seem plausible. He is manipulated, obstinate and believes that love should remain out of his life. Then Noah comes in and defies all the rules he has lived.

Noah takes with him this combination of gentleness, power and temper that goes so well with Saint. Their Dom and sub dynamic is based on trust and communication and one of the best aspects of the tale is to see Saint open up gradually. The interactions with the foster brothers make it warmer and demonstrate that the process of healing is possible when you are with people who really care about you.

The middle part has a bit of a slump in the story, though it picks up again. The age difference or the BDSM elements may be heavier than some readers may wish but the emotional element of the book is what matters to me the most.

It is a dirty and touching romance in general where the characters are struggling to connect, even when it frightens them. It is certainly worth reading.

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end. I loved getting to know Saint and Noah and seeing them come together. Saint is pulled out of his home at 15 and sent to foster with Kip and Robin which is the best thing that happened for him. It has given him stability and a family. Now he is 30 and a tattoo artist when Noah comes into his life. Noah is younger than him and has grown up in children's homes and knows he wants to be a tattoo artist. There is an instant connection between the two of them and The Dom in Saint recognizes the sub in Noah but he doesn't initial go there or plan on going there with offering him an apprenticeship and job at his shop. I love how he still takes care of him and those instincts have a way of not being ignored. It has them getting to know each other before the other things get introduced and involved. Noah definitely has to fight some to get Saint to give him a shot for the BDSM things as well as giving him a real shot at trying to be a boyfriend and have a real relationship and not just it being a hookup/bedroom thing. I enjoyed seeing Noah find a different part of himself and the acceptance that comes with that. I enjoyed going along for the ride with them and thought the story was well written and engaging throughout. I loved getting to know Saint's other foster brothers as well and am very excited for future books in the series.

Saint was intense, emotional, and surprisingly tender. We meet Saint first as a teenager escaping an abusive home, then again at thirty; successful tattooist by day, strict Dom by night, and absolutely not someone who “does” relationships.

Enter Noah: younger, talented, quietly strong, and very much a submissive who knows exactly what he wants. Their attraction is instant, but Saint’s walls are solid. He underestimates Noah, avoids his feelings, and—shockingly—is way better at being a Dom than a boyfriend. The lack of communication is frustrating at times, but also very real.

The Dom/sub dynamic is hot and rooted in trust, and watching them figure out how that fits alongside actual love is what makes this story shine. Noah is sweet but determined, Saint is flawed but growing, and together they just work, even when it’s messy.

The found family element with Kip and Robin (and the Foster brothers) absolutely stole my heart. A house full of love, safety, and second chances.

Kinky, heartfelt, and emotional, Saint is a strong start to the series and I’m very ready for Royal’s book next.

I only know the books by this author under a different penname so I wasn't sure what to expect.

This is a solid story, Saint and Noah both have the invisble scars of a lost childhood. I love how Noah is confident to look for what he wants - when he discovered that the man of his dreams is a dom. It's great to see how he embraces the submissive side of himself, for himself, not to please Saint.

He is definitely neither a doormat nor a man who submits because he feels he has to. The scenes are well done, even if I think Saint took some things too fast and too much.

Saint has a lot to learn being a boyfriend and I love that this story shows ups and downs, not just that everything is rosy in a budding relationship. It makes the characters real, you can feel how Saint must feel when Noah puts hard truths in front of him.

Saint has a great family, made by choice, not blood and while his dads can be interfering, they also look out for their kids.

I look forward to more books of this series.

An intense and spicy read. Not a simple romance, but that's the book's strength.

St John (henceforth called Saint) is removed from the custody of his abusive father at the age of fifteen. He is taken in by foster parents Kip and Robin and becomes a man he never thought he would. Then we move forward and Saint is thirty, has his own tattoo studio and his private life is a lot of fun without any strings. Enter Noah, who's kind of idolised Saint since he wanted to become a tattoo artist and is from a similar background without the loving foster family.

While the guys are exploring things together and discovering strings work for them, even if Saint has never been a boyfriend and has a lot to learn, the family also take Noah into their hearts.

Both make mistakes and find being in love isn't all they need to have a good and successful relationship. But the happy ending comes for them.

I think the next books in this series will be just as intense and romantic.

I received an advance copy from the author and this is my honest opinion of the story.

I don't think Saint's family liked him very much.......

So this book was interesting in that the first half read lowkey like a fated mates novella, Saint and Noah met in the tattoo studio and it was both instalove and instalust at first sight. And then once that section wrapped up, it was both an exploration of BDSM life (which was well done and saved this from being a one-star lmao), and also weirdly an indictment on Saint from absolutely everyone in his life, in threads that were never tied off. Like we never got a followup conversation with the foster parents about like approving the lovematch or whatever they thought they were trying to do, which painted them in a terrible light for me because they went from probably having some valid points to just being judgy old men in their corner to be disregarded. Everything with the evil dom and the evil sub possibly doing a whole lot of crimes against Noah was downplayed in a weird way by the rest of the narrative too? Like I really didn't leave with good opinions on anyone lmao, I doubt this will be a series I return to.

Review for (Foster Bros-1) Saint by Jodie Harper

Wow, Jodie Harper wrote this story just like I like. Such a sad story that made me want to cry at times and hit some of the people in the story at other times. To read stories that could be possible to happen to me makes the story much stronger. I wanted to cry when I read that St. John lived with the man who is called a father but isn't a father due to what he puts him through. A lot of people would have given up on life or become someone who wasn't healthy, but he became a top tattooist who owns his own studio. Add in him being a Dom, well, yes, love love this. He wants total submission and can get what he wants. Noah went through his own hell living in a children's home. He wanted more from life, also. I love stories where they come from pain, but they want more and become more. I didn't want this story to end. I will be looking for more stories from Jodie Harper

I really enjoyed this read. It had both wonderful MCs and supporting characters that will definitely be a part of this series. I found this to be such an easy read with well-described aspects of the BDSM world of this particular Dom/Sub.

In this book, we meet Saint and Noah as they learn to navigate and explore new relationship dynamics both as a couple and a Dom/Sub. They are fast to fall for each other and don't dance around their feelings for too long which feels nice for a change. They are flawed characters who work toward improving themselves.

I felt this was on the sweeter side of this kink world. There were a few dark topics discussed in a sensitive manner.

Tropes:

Overall I thought it was a good start to the series. It was heartfelt and kinky.

A fascinating new series involving husbands Kip and Robin, who adopted four boys who were in dire need of love, safety & family. Oh, and they are all kinky! Expect a lot of hurt/comfort, teasing family, delicious kink, and lots of love.

Saint was the first that joined the family. Coming from an abusive father, he finds himself in the safety of his new home. Now, an incredible tattooist, he’s also a dom. A dom without want of attachment.

When Noah turns up, looking for a job, two like souls are drawn to each other. Noah is young, inexperienced, and new to the lifestyle. He also screams commitment.

Needless to say, their path to love is not smooth sailing. Mistakes are made, the ride is bumpy, but it’s a stunning journey, and worth a few bruises to the heart.

“New author”Jodie Harper MM series

This Jodie Harper series is about a group of gay guys who after difficult childhoods end up fostered by the very appropriately named Kip and Robin Foster. I was actually surprised that no one mentioned how appropriate their last name was! There is some about Saint’s childhood, but most of the book is about Saint and Noah working their way towards having a relationship both as sub/dom and as boyfriends. I found this to be a wonderful book under a new pen name for JJ Harper. This is a new direction for her in that it adds ink and kink. She does a great job of pulling all these elements together and writing another very lovely piece. I look forward to more about these brothers.

‘Saint’ is the start of a new series by author Jodie Harper, and a new kinkier direction for JJ Harper.

Full disclosure, I’m a big JJ Harper fan but seriously this was a great read. The story is kinkier than a JJ Harper book, the storyline is perfect, the characters believable and their building relationship is extra steamy.

Saint tries to resist Noah, his new employee, but he isn’t having much success. He knows he should drag Noah into his lifestyle but they both want it increasingly, until a night of trauma that opens the door for both of them.

Saint is the eldest brother of four, each is introduced in this book but I’m looking forward to more as they each get their own book.

I'm a total sucker for found family and this book here is exactly why: if you don't have a family, you are allowed to build one, one that supports you and loves you, no matter where you come from and who you are. And that is exactly what what shines through in Saint. Where he comes from does not matter but it shaped him, just like the love of his family did. Is he perfect? Nah, he's human after all. Is he perfect for Noah? Absolutely!
I loved the way the story was told, the flow of it. 4 stars simply because there was a dip somewhere in the middle that totally pulled me out of the story. But absolutely worth reading nonetheless.

“It’s forever, Noah. If I go inside you bare, then I’m never letting you go.”
I nod. “Not going anywhere, Sir.”

I really enjoyed this book. Good world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Noah and Saint. I liked the dynamic between them and the way their relationship developed. Noah was determined, knew what he wanted, and was willing to fight for it. Saint didn't make it easy. The chemistry between them was sizzling. A hurt/comfort romance with both characters broken when they were younger, and having to overcome their demons. This is the first story I've read by this author and I would read more. 4 stars

This story was incredible! Saint and Noah are both tattoo artists who grew up in the foster care system. Saint was raised in a kink-friendly home and knew from an early age that he was a Dom. When Noah arrives at Saint's studio to pursue his dream of becoming an artist, the two form a relationship where each has something to learn from the other. Noah begins exploring desires he’s only ever heard about and figuring out how to please a demanding Dom, while Saint discovers there’s more to him than just being a Dom—sometimes his perfect boy simply needs a boyfriend. An amazing start to a promising series—I can’t wait for more!

3.5 ⭐️ Okay so I did really like this one. The spice was really good and I loved the back story of Saint and his family and all the brothers. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the boys and all of them getting the HEA they deserve. That being said there was something lacking for me, and I haven’t been able to put my finger on it? Saint and Noah were written beautifully and I think it was a good look into what a DOM/SUB relationship can look like from the beginning. A solid read for me.

HOLY MOLY!!!!!

This is a new direction for one of my favorite Authors. JODIE HARPER is bringing tattooing to the fore front. Direction and Compliance. Saint is an extraordinary Tattoo Artist. He owns his own shop. Noah is a fan, and has become a great Artist on his own. He begs Saint for a job. Is it easy, no. These two have interest in the same things and getting it right isn't easy. This is a different side of JJ HARPER'S writing. I Loved It. Well written, captivating, with a happily ever after. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!

Steamy, hurt/comfort, D/s

Saint had a very rough childhood.
He became very disciplined and doesn't let anyone get close.
He's definitely never been in a serious relationship.
Noah grew up in the foster system and he's determined to overcome it.
When they meet due to their mutual talent in the tattoo world, sparks fly.
Those embers become an inferno when they meet at a club as Dom and sub.
The chemistry between these two was scorching hot.
Saint has a lot of growth in the relationship aspect because he's never wanted one before, but they're perfect for each other.

This was a slow burn BDSM with pining for almost half the book. I was getting a bit exasperated with Saint’s refusal to be with Noah knowing how much he wanted to.

He really took his time to make a decision and only when Noah was in trouble did he react🤦🏻‍♀️

Noah too was a bit annoying with his attitude towards Saint. His impatience almost got him hurt and not in a good way.

They really needed better communication. But at least they were able to understand each other after so much pining and yearning.

Not enough stars!!!! Such a wonderful story of family found for Saint and his foster brothers (I expect stories for the brothers!) Anyway, Saint being the very Dominant of Doms takes his own sweet time to finally believe Noah knows what he wants and what he is getting into. Stubborn man that he is, Saint I mean. There are trouble makers, of course there are! As much as there is some graphic BDSM scenes in this story, it is truly a romantic story just as much. I loved it!
