Dallas McKinney has perfected the art of holding it together. On the outside, she's ambitious, talented, and on the verge of launching the nonprofit she's always dreamed of. But beneath the surface, grief and old wounds threaten to undo her at every turn. And when Karter Jordan–her college ex and the man she thought she couldn't imagine having to face again–reappears, the walls she's built start to crack.
Karter has changed. He's steadier now, grounded by his faith and unwilling to let Dallas keep hiding behind her pain. Where she sees brokenness, he sees someone worth fighting for.
Drawn together by unfinished history and undeniable chemistry, Dallas is forced to confront not only her past, but the possibility that healing might come through the very love she's spent years avoiding. Together, they'll have to decide if second chances are worth the risk... if love and faith can bridge the gap between who they were and who they're becoming.
This was a great story! I had came across this book on TikTok and when I saw that it had faith themes, I had to see what it was about! I loved Karter and Dallas’ faith being represented in this story. There was a lot of healing, forgiveness, and love expressed throughout my time reading this! 🥰 I loved seeing Black love be shown in this as well, as it made my heart swoon! Karter was a TRUE man of God! He was so patient with Dallas, and allowed her to grow her relationship with Christ on her own terms. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves Christian themes in a story! ❤️
